  1. I imagine they just don't think it'd be worth their time, in terms of people actually wanting to buy much, if any, items. Can always ask them on twitter?
  2. First day of half term, unable to attend I'm afraid!
  3. Tweet @altontowers. Sometimes they'll get the commercial dept to get in contact with you so you can purchase your desires!
  4. I hate alcohol, you wouldn't be the only one to only really see destruction and wonder how on earth people enjoy just going to get bladdered at end of the week. Ridiculous.
  5. God, it's too difficult not to add into this discussion. The toilets are a passion of mine (no, not like that). But seeing as the overwhelming majority of people judge a place on the toilets, it's surprising they haven't done anything to improve these or renovate them. They're now the only merlin group not to have spruced up their toilets in the past 3 or so years. Infact, they aint been touched for 20yrs or more. Bout bloody time they updated them! As for toilets on park.. skyride. They're small, but they're warm and always have hot water. Driers need to be better though. The toilets in communal areas of both hotels are brilliant though!
  6. I think we've got the best of what we can have really. For the UK industry, we were saturated with theme parks/leisure parks and as seen recently, they've been closing allowing the others to thrive better. I would say we've got the middle man - we don't have Six Flags with their awful way of investment (though, we almost did the way tussauds were going). However, we don't have the size or capacity to bring in the funds the big players have in America either. We won't see 40m being spent on a dark ride for instance. The UK is too small a market, and the parks too small themselves to warrant any of the other compeititors to come in and beef it up. We're pretty lucky in what we've got in my own opinion, with only Universal and Disney being the other worldwide brands/owners who are doing things better than how we're doing.
  7. I'd rather have a backward topscan if I'm honest.

Tunnel of piss will still bring you out where the yellow section of fried chicken co is. Either way, they'll definitely have that part open, if not the main path. I imagine main path will be up though, once they've installed the track they would probably only need to access it with cranes etc periodically.
  9. I'm with ricky though. I do look forward to the back of these jokes.

X Sector will be open. Good old previews eh!
  11. Proof or it didn't happen.

Does this mean the last retro RMC Thorpe Park logos have now left us? Mate. They lasted 13 years longer than they should've. Thirteen years.

    2013 Changes

Not particularly, we are on a thorpe park forum though.

Second. Definitely had a raised height restriction in late 90s!
  15. Don't worry, we can hope it's temporary. Then I can get the back right hand seat back. Coar, that was sexy.

Must be the longest track and most inversions. Considering most people think inversions are thrilling, maybe they're not doing anything but stating the truth for once!

No it doesn't. It's got 8 rows on both trains. Awkward. Why did I think this was acceptable. Both trains should have 4 rows. Harnesses are a big thing in concept art, it'll have OSTRs.

That page is fake. Lexicon is probably what he calls his penis. The website isn't though, and lexicon does exist. Probably still penis based.

Just to remind everyone about Stealth, that was like a fallback. Project name, they even had the ride sign (and merch) made with the real name created. Then had to fallback, and luckily stealth is a lovely oxymoron. Smiler, hmm unsure if it's the name. If it is, it'll be good. I still think it's related to the logo rather than the ride. But we'll find out eh.
  20. Well, it's not that clever. As when people realise they didn't need them, they feel ripped off and maybe betrayed from the company. Trust and enjoyment should be priority, thorpe manage to forget this! Or if they do need them, because fastrack makes the main queue ridiculously long, they'll feel like they didn't get good value for money at all.

If they continue to show the previous ones, 4. But I doubt they will anymore.

Reminds me of the Surrender adverts for thirteen. Is that called surrender? (I know that was on park, but still).

Inoculator is original and striking. However, I'm thinking its name to a theming element if anything. We all know towers when they release ride names. It's not like this. It's too bloody early in the marketing plan anyway.
  24. On a year when they've added nothing? They'll do what they do every year, and increase it by a quid. Yes, a quid. Thorpe won't be as expensive as towers just yet. One day it might overtake it, then we can laugh at how ridiculously overpriced the place is compared to others in the merlin portfolio.
  25. Surprised they haven't done anything to deal with the pigeons. They're more menacing than the CCTV camera theme. By dealing, I don't mean put up those spikes which attract dust and cobwebs and look crap, I mean by shooting them.
