    The Smiler

They're probably counting down to something THEY'RE doing on their fanpage thing. Pointless.
  2. Glad they're slowly turning Feb half term into an event, especially one worth going for. Onwards and upwards chessie!
  3. Would be nice. Probably need a clean first though, imagine they're full of dust.
  4. They only played with the dispatch theme, which went through different speakers. Once they put it onto the parkwide loop, it was lost indefinitely. Or at least, that's what I believe was the case. Where's lewis when you need him?!
  5. Towers one's were franchises I believe. The plaque didn't say anything similar. I can't imagine them having a long contract with the parks really. Maybe 10yrs or so. But for a park, they'd never want to sign up to a too long lease, you need options. McDonalds was on a 10yr lease for instance, replaced by BKs on one year leases. Well, excluding thorpe. God knows what thorpe's on.
  6. I wonder what it looks like if you're coming from it backwards.

    The Crash Pad

The concept of going over a bridge with water underneath to an island to unlock your dreams or whatever is brilliant. The reality of thorpes is very 80s. Concrete temporary feel to the bridge, followed by an 80s style leisure centre building infront of you. Wonderful!

    The Smiler

Yeah, point of it is so that people just look.. and it becomes subliminal. Everytime you see it, you wonder what it is. Some people will go out of their way to try and find out. Eventually they'll link it on tv or something, and everyone will remember the image and boom. Towers. Same happened with oblivion. Exact. Same. Thing. It's perfect.

    The Smiler

They're doing the same as oblivion - post the smiler absolutely everywhere, with no connection to towers or ride name. So it gets stuck in peoples head, and they'll either wonder subconsciously what it is, or actively try and seek what it is. Eventually, after it all soaking into their minds, it'll be linked to towers and the new coaster. It's 1998 all over again. Hopefully this'll all work at bringing people in, otherwise they'll have to do something like turn a car backwards next season or make it go a bit faster. Oops, this isn't thorpe.

I also think it's perfect. It reminds me of butlins. Tbf, there's not much they could've done. Have a bridge which looks like the other bridge it connects to, or have an amazing walkway that clashes with the bridge. Not really their fault the bridge is very tacky and 80s style, though their fault for not updating it.

    2013 Changes

Impressive. How do you get people into harnesses before you release seatbelt? It's not about that - it's the physical getting people out of seat onto steps not designed for you to get off backwards. Harness or not.

Bloody hell, someone update the Mania Hub page please! Still says swarm is to come. Are we towers almanac? Photos are alright this time, something to look at!
  13. Personally always had the feeling a system similar to thirteen would've been perfect for them. Maybe they will do eventually!
  14. Then again could be cheaper for them to borrow a big lump sum, or at least investors know that's when they'll need investment than scattered around years. They'll always know the following year will be better off for them with ROI. Bring on chessie revival, woo!
  15. No we don't want more ride sponsorship.
  16. The next big addition should arrive in 2016, roughly when they said the next physical ride should appear at Chessington? Would be nice if we got some epicly quiet coaster which the locals would love as much as the people riding it.

    2013 Changes

I imagine they could get a lift platform with a barrier, similar to what most B&Ms have. Actually, what sort of evacuation stuff goes it have? Just steps all the way up isn't it?

    2013 Changes

I imagine it'd have too much strain, therefore causing too much downtime. Let alone the downtime of people being sick, or realising their seats face the wrong way, if this did indeed ever happens.

    2013 Changes

Why would the experience be any better backwards? The whole intention of everything is going past near misses, and swarming around. Plus I just cannot imagine it being comfortable because you cannot brace yourselves into elements as you dunno when or how they'll hit. You automatically brace when you see whats coming.
  20. Chessie follows the same investment cycle as the rest of the parks. Major, small, medium. 2010 - Wild Asia 2011 - Feck all (or something boring that's slipped my mind) 2012 - Africa 2013 - Zufari

    Samurai

To be fair, guests don't visit as often as we do. So their reaction wouldn't be "samurai is open!" it'd be "let's ride samurai".
  22. Righteo: Towers (probably a lot, particularly if sanctuary is definitely open at beginning of year) Thorpe once or twice, depending. Chessie at least once, zufari <3. Drayton Manor. Has to be done. Hopefully Oakwood again (fireworks and 10pm closes are perfect - can get up and leave to go there at 11am and still have a good 7hrs ride time!) Lightwater valley, always go. Disney Parks in Orlando Universal (first time, win). Hopefully Europa Park. Slim chance of PA Busy year for me with parks outside of UK for once.
  23. Hmm good question, it may well have considering thorpe was tiny when Pizza Hut started there. I imagine there'd be a clause somewhere though, can't imagine thorpe wanting to have a particular company on their property for so long when they don't have a clue how things'll shape out.
