London 2012 Olympics
A fantastic two weeks of events. London has done us proud with superb organisation, superb sport and spectatular venues and performances. It says it all when even Australian media calls this the best Olympics of the last twenty years. Considering how incredible Sydney 2000 was, we've done a grand job.

Apart from the absolutely naff (but appropriate) name, that looks lovely. Not much can be told but I can tell you it will be smooth and fun just by past experience. (Love that first drop)- Tomb Blaster
Very good point. Chessington do seem to be very on the effects at the moment. Tomb is one example, but I can think of many like Dragon Falls, Rattlesnake, Runaway Train and even Vampire where effects are working when for a long time they were broken or off. Runaway Trains boiler for example was off for years and now is back and working. It's impressive for a park that gets little to no investment, that the park does try where it can.- Parks, Rides And Coaster News
Actually, I prefer the quiet optimism of this woodie on TPM compared to the "it will murder" that Towers Street are saying.- The Swarm

- Stealth
I think ride by ride basis. Stealth is an exception to me as its such a large plaza and many a time I've seen guests just run at the ride and staff running after them and yeah amusing. If its Inferno then surely two of the staff at the entrance, the others doing basic tasks like cleaning the station of cobwebs etc etc. Part of the problem is the roles though, ride staff are expected to be at an attraction but they rarely have the pride that a more permanent member of staff will have. Standing around talking would be more fun then grabbing a litter picker and cleaning Dragons Furys final turn for example..- Parks, Rides And Coaster News
Gotta love how a park gets a woodie with an inversion and the main hope is that Thorpe are watching.- Drayton Manor
Don't read the comments underneath the article if you wish to keep your sanity. Still very sad for the woman's family, can't imagine the pain they must be going through.- Random Picture Thread.

37 people thus far. Maybe they're just all braindead.- London 2012 Olympics
They weren't defeated, the judges made the wrong decision on their score. I'm loving the Olympics at the moment, it's just been fantastic to watch so far.- Six Flags Magic Mountain
Blah Blah Blah. They get cheap theme park tickets, we get free health care,it's all swings and roundabouts.- London 2012 Olympics
It just shows the selfishness nature of people. I'm not going to any Olympic events but that doesn't mean I am not going to enjoy one of the most prestigious events a country can host or see the benefits the games will have for London. If you look at what the Commonwealth Games did for Manchester in 2002, I think you'd agree that the 2012 games will last far beyond the end of September. We're creating a legacy, not just a one off event.- London 2012 Olympics
I'm very much a fan of the Olympics. Sure we could have built 1000's of defibrillators, but to show the greatest show on earth in our country is an honour. I think it was a class act for the lighting of the torch to not be a famous celebrity but to be the next generation of British sporting talent.- Air
For some reason, I read your post and got very defensive over Air, very "hang on a minute". Whilst its near to the bottom of my B&M list, it's still better then 90% of the rides out there. Comparing to Nemesis and Oblivion doesn't work for me, two very different rides with completely different aspirations and goals. You can see that on park as ten years later, Air still holds the longest queues in the park while Nemesis just doesn't.- Air
Just to clarify my position. I think it's a good ride and definitely not boring. It's very different to the other flyers so deserves credit for being the truest form of flying rollercoaster (even if I do really really like Manta). But Air's problem comes from looking too scary for its target audience, its height restriction is too high for the people it's trying to attract to it and lets be honest, the ride does lack a certain something that makes it a really fantastic roller coaster. I don't think its the theme and the layout is fun for its length. But there's definitly not as much love showered on it compared to its older B&M brothers.- 2013 Changes
I certainly can think of the fastback package opportunities when adding this kind of ride. - Parks, Rides And Coaster News
