Thorpe Park Trip Reports
I twas with the Simps yesterday and have to back up all his comments. Thorpe's reliability has gone from bloody awful to fantastic and I no longed visit in fear of just how many rides won't be open in the day. Notice how quiet the reliability topic has been off late... They've got their acts together in such a big way and when even people like me, old fogies who can't wait to have a moan, are satisfied you know the park are doing something right.Considering queues were long(ish) we rode Stealth twice on the front row.. basically because I'm actually scared of it. I dunno what it is about it but it terrifies me more then any other ride.

Suggestions
I remember the kerfuffle I went through trying to get Katy Price onto Fury last year. And trying to be as polite as possible, she was the most ungreatful cow ever..

Thorpe Park Meetup - Sunday 30th May 2010
Considering I've never done that, its rich coming from you.

Thorpe Park Meetup - Sunday 30th May 2010
I find it more funny guys that a lot of you have laughed at some of the Rich related jokes made at the times I've seen you and the first TPM meet and yet we ask that you do not invite banned members and everyone goes but what about Rich. II don't see any of you giving a damn that Themeparkbloke isn't invited. Just because Rich likes all your statuses on facebook and drives you all around merrily in his car you seem to think we're just discriminating him.

I'm backing Marc up here. I know lots of our younger members get on with Rich but the admin team have taken the decision that from now on, banned members are not invited.

Parks, Rides And Coaster News
Oh Sweet Jesus... You always think rollercoasters are safe and yet things like this still happen and it really makes you think. I hope everyone is ok and that no one has been seriously injured.

I, at the Season Pass, am interviewing John Wardley on Saturday
Great listen. John Wardley really is just gold. His little anecdotes, his politeness and his enthusiasm for rides always shines through. A little fanboy thrill struck through when he said his favourite ride was the old Bubbleworks. Well done MikeyT, getting your question answered there. Just a shame Neilfevers question wasn't touched upon

SAW: The Ride
It's not a safety hazard at all.. If they are to close all that will happen is a block shutdown. But they aren't, one car is what.. three seconds from the end, the other is about ten seconds from even getting close to the mid course break run.All this picture shows is that the team on Saw are working bloody hard.

So thats where all the good staff went.. we're on here!Lols?- Doctor Who
I love Matt Smith's Doctor. What I'm going to do is try and avoid comparing him to Tennant and the other nine Doctors. Smith is his own Doctor, I love his mannerisms, the way he seems to avoid eye contact with others, his simmering anger rather then bluster. I have enjoyed this series so far although I don't think Amy Pond is that good. Karen Gillan is fine as the character, just Amy Pond doesn't seem to have a history or do anything relevant.- PR / Marketing
Whats wrong with Tidal Wave? It's a great ride and the size of the wave is memorable. Visually, it's very interesting.- Random
What you really have to remember is that this is the first series for everyone on that team (with the exception of some deisgners and Murray Gold). It's as much of a reboot as the first series was with Christopher Ecclestone and Billie Piper. Watch over that series again, you can see a team learning the ropes, the rules of Doctor Who. Even Tennant didn't find "his Doctor" until Tooth and Claw, the fourth episode of that seasons recording block.I reckon Matt Smith is a fantastic Doctor though, he has this amazing little mannerisms and eccentricities that make me believe he is the same as the first four Doctors from the classic series.Last nights ep was fun to although my only issue is why do they have to make everyone stupid to make a situation shocking.- Random
- Bubbleworks
Rygr, the old Bubbleworks was timeless. I mean it lasted 15 years but every joke, every animatronic, every apart of the factory if you like was a part of the journey and it all came together into the wonderful fountain finale. The new one, well I hate it more then any other ride in the UK and that is really saying something because I always try and see the best in every ride before endlessly attacking. For me there is absolutely nothing complimentary about the ride and instead of simply tidying up the old Bubbleworks they just ripped out every animatronic, added duck sounds everywhere, destroyed the music in the entire ride and tried to make every joke a play on Ducks. It's not even funny the first time either.I'm glad some people see enjoyment in it but for me they may as well have pissed all over my childhood and blown up my car. And my bombed car would look more interesting then the disaster that is Imperial Leather Bubbleworks. I welcome any retheme, any kind of change, anything that gets rid of this travesty of a ride.- Th13teen
You calling me less intelligent Electricbill Dummiguy, you may know that but going on open day, not followed construction, klnew nothing about the ride, how am I supposed to know what the hecks going on if the story isn't explained anywhere.- Th13teen
Well you see the thing with Th13teen is I personally don't think anything is explained. I went in there, blind as a bat and I honestly thought that it hadn't been finished yet and all the construction beams around the ride was a building site. I mean theres things dotted around such as trees enveloping people and cars being destroyed but it doesn't all add up to a final product. It doesn't help that the ride itself is one half unthemed journey through open space, the other a themed masterpiece that is genuinely exciting. It doesn't have that extra element that rides like Tomb Blaster, Nemesis and Hex have to really finish the product.- Vampire
I first rode Vampire in 1999 and this has always got to me. People always say Chessington is well themed, Chessington is reliable, Chessington is amazing. And yet here is a ride that makes an even greater sin then Inferno, it's front end is pure corregated steel, Vampire wasn't reliable at all, hence its big retheme. I mean even as an 11 year old kid I thought "why is this themed to a castle when its just a steel shed outside"- Jobs..
I got a job at Waitrose. Yeah it's the same company as John Lewis but Waitrose is fantastic. Everyone has been so welcoming and helpful and the last week has been fantastic.- Chessington Trip Plans
Am thinking of going Chessington in two weeks, anyone decent still work there?
