  3. [obligatory it was a great trip, I loved every minute of it post] I'm sure you all had a great time. There's something so much better about a park at night then in the day.

So are you saying old rides have no value and are useless rides....Your comment saying that none of your favourite rides are three decades old certainly implies this. So either the oldest ride you have ridden is Corkscrew (which says absolutely nothing about the 100 hundred years of rides before Corkscrew) or that you only really like the ultra-modern stuff.I await your reply

I'll have a good argument against things like that in a few weeks time.. suffice to say I beg to differ.

And to answer your question, I enjoy Vortex, Detonator and Quantum.

There's no topic about Vortex becausea] No one likes itand b] It works. So for instance it doesn't throw pieces of itself of at people or shutdown because its over-complicated, or have air-leaks etc.I for one love Vortex, its the only one of three rides at Thorpe that I genuinely enjoy.

Maybe they applied for an extension on their work?

Woah, Woah Woah! You cannot call Rihanna that when you have a crappy Maurer Shone spinner as your desktop Now that's a proper ride
  11. The sad thing is, Flamingoland could build 4 B&M rollercoasters, 7 Intamin rocket coasters, 2 Maurer Spinners and a Top scan for next season and it would still only get one reply in a topic. On the other hand, Thorpe could add a new bin and there would be a 10 page topic on how people are excited about the new addition.Anyway, to me, its a brave move as we know that S&S reliability can be somewhat dodgy. I'll definitely be making the effort to visit next season. I just hope it isn't another G-Force *shudders*.
  12. As long as the first drop is into a pool of needles! God that would be immense!!!!!!!!
  13. Which one?Saw, Saw 2, Saw 3, Saw 4 or Saw 5?It's basically 6 easy steps to remember your franchise. Make 5 mediocre films about torture, name a ride after it then wallah!, you are now a mini-Universal studios. So what sort of consequences will this have on the rest of Canada Creek? Will we have the:-"Rocky Horror Express" ?"I know what you did last Slammer" ?"Canada Creek Railway Massacre: Bear-hunt" ?"The Exorcism of Loggers Leap" ?"Buzz-sawurai" !I dread to think..
  14. Well done Thorpe. Not only have you made a ride that has completely uninterested me from start to finish, you've also based it on the most underwhelming and dull series of films in the history of cinema.Still, for those that thought Buzzsaw was a good choice of name, Saw is basically that..
  15. Well erm.. just other forums to be honest with you.
  16. Woah woah woah. Turquoise and red, out of place in Lost City?
  17. What an over bank turn!

There's a longer waiting time for the front of Fury.. since when!RihannaTR George or Jack the sack
  19. You guys just remind me of what a harsh world we live in. I'm nasty at times but I've definitly been relegated to Bronze position there. As for "Elle" I'll start with the cons first.1. The pre-lift section, a nice try at an Inferno type start. That works because it goes into a tunnel, yours doesn't and just seems to meander for a bit.2. The first drop and the track directly afterwards is again, a bit dull and as it takes a while to get to the first inversion it doesn't seem very "B&M" to me.3. Directly after the Vertical loop, theres a section of track where the train comes to a bit of a dead spot.. goes very slowly (kind of like Inferno actually)The Positives1. I like the inversion order. I also like how you haven't gone overboard with the inversions either and haven't used the same combination as other Inverters. An immelman turn (I believe) also works well after the inline.2. Nice colour scheme3. Nice surprise lay-out. Theres several moments where the ride goes where you don't expect it, such as the surprise wing-over.Nice attempt. RCT is more my field but thats a good effort.

I'm not much of a fan of cocky attitudes.
  21. Mark9 replied to D4n's topic in UK Attractions
On the contrary, Corkscrew didn't have that much downtime at all (well apart from the two times that it stalled )

If its not on the website, its open.

I can think of ten other more recent rides that are rougher then Corkscrew. For a 28 year old ride it was pretty damn smooth - (not the word I'm looking for but well I can't think of a different one).. Crap, but nice for nostalgic reasons.
