Realisitically it wouldn't bring in that many guests and would add very little to a ride that is already very successful and brings in the guests. The floorless aspect is one of those gimmicky things that a lot of people feel add very little to rides. I think the same would occur with Oblivion.

It has kind of ended. The logos on the cars were removed about a season ago, although I can't remember if there are still logos on the entrance sign.

Uhh.. its ride time is already longer then a good many rides, it still shocks people, its still an effective ride and its also my favourite at Alton so no to extension or modification. Its an awesome ride.
  4. Considering you are able to go on Vampire regardless of if you can walk or not it doesn't matter. On Rattlesnake there are only a series of very thin vertical ladders to get down from the very top and on Runaway Train it does depend on where people are evacuated on. People are taken off by a series of step ladders and have to get of the train from the angled track.. not as easy as it sounds. I'm not sure if its still the case with Falls but from what I recall, the reason guests need to be able to walk is because they used to only evacuate 2-4 people at a time. I don't know whether thats still the case though.
  5. And now a voice of a staff member (although I'm glad my areas rides were helpful ) Basically there are four rides at Chessington that you need to be able to get on and off without the aid of helpers at Chessington. They are the Runaway Train, Rattlesnake, Bubbleworks and Dragon Falls. Now I'm not exactly sure what the rule is about stopping Bubbleworks to allow guests in wheelchairs onto the ride (Peter may be able to explain further) What you have to remember is that the staff don't want to run the risk of getting in trouble for breaking a health and safety rule. It would be rude for me to ask how well you can walk but remember when you e-mail Chessington, is that the staff members were just going by the Code of Safe Working practise. They shouldn't have been rude to you though, and that is not on.If you have any questions about some of the disabled policies Chessington has just send me a PM, Ill try and help you out and maybe pass on your comments.

Oblivion re-opened yesterday (although we did end up stuck on it during a short 5 mintue breakdown )
  8. A dark ride themed around time travel! with water and laser effects WOO.I don't want to pretend that I have any ideas for Neptunes kingdom, but just throwing rides like ones we already have is a bit senseless. Unless the ride has something paritcularly special it will just be forgotten (Like so many others)
  9. How about some ORIGINAL family rides. All people ever seem to do when suggesting new things is to look at what other parks have done and copy. Indoor sensory ride like Bubbleworks? ride like Tomb Blaster? Why not something completely out there, challenging and different instead of sticking to a formula.

I vote for Lewie900 as next Thorpe Park general manager. He obviously knows what guests want (something they can get down the ****ing road).Woops

Every ride at least 30 minute queue basically
  15. No-ones complaining. Family rides are more fun then thrill rides will ever be regardless of how intense a ride is. Obviously we're all under 5 so we are silly.

What an absolutely terrible justifcation for having a slow ride. People are scared by it anyway so it doesn't need to be fast? The biggest WHAT THE BLOODY HELL ever. I know that I can only speak for myself when it comes to Samurai, having ridden it a lot at Chessington and knowing how awesome and punch the air it can be when you get a decent ride on it. Suffice to say I've had that about twice since it moved.

    Except that it is.
  18. It was awesome tbh. It looks crap but we're looking at it with 21st Century eyes where everything has to be highly realistic and be logical and etc. 5th Dimension was just a fun little dark ride with a zany story and completely fitted into the Chessington of the late 80'sUnfortunately I don't remember a hell of lot of it because when I rode it I was four. Along with the original Bubbleworks, Cwoa really was a force when it came to dark rides.

Thats what reviews are supposed to be. They are supposed to balance the pros and cons of a ride and come to a natural conclusion of what he believes of the ride.

Low capacity rides will always have long queues regardless of settings or speeds.
  21. I'm not offended, its just a debate after all Anyway onto your comments.1) I think its a very bad idea to over-crowd Thorpe. By playing a flyer right at the parks entrance, the park immediately hits you with rides from every angle. Think of any park you have visited, and you will find very few have rides so in your face right away. I myself rarely use the beach or Depth Charge but I don't think a rollercoaster is the right approach. I think someone on here suggested a Splash battle which I think is an excellent idea. It compliments the other water rides perfectly and would be a fun ride in its own right, as well as making sense in Neptunes Kingdom.2) I also don't think moving all the kids rides away to a seperate area is a good idea purely because whilst Thorpe is very small, kids get tired a lot faster and if you have a place crammed with rides, themes (as lacking as they may be) become confused and less obvious. (Amity Cove for example doesn't make realistic sense anymore for example). With that, if Thorpe is just a THRILL island, then what is to happen to Loggers Leap, Rumba Rapids and Storm in a Teacup which are family rides. You can't really move them around as they are fixed structures.

I don't have a problem with it, but what I don't understand is why intelligent people do it. I know several people who are obviously educated, at uni etc and yet smoke. Despite this the little messages on the boxes don't put them off, don't seem to have any effect at all. So why do people start or put effort in to stop.
  23. Mark9 replied to Ash's topic in General Discussion
Bit unsure why people are taking the piss, its not as if Sam was questioning what the website was saying.

Didn't know Dragons Fury was even on the website, its been open everyday this week
  25. And you've just prooved my point quite adequately. They don't even believe the park is a "MEGA THRILLZ park" if they expected Eclipse to go down well, only for it not to. They then add Fish back and have rides with 1.2 metre height restrictions which generally rates them as "family friendly." And what about the bear hunt Mr Hicks, or are we ignoring that?
