Political Discussion
Tell me why banning high powered inefficient electrical equipment is a bad thing. Whilst EU go on about banalities like kettles and fishing, our own government have decided it's either World War 3 or the eve of a Hitler superstate. It's all rather desperate and pathetic frankly. If it really was that risky leaving the EU, it wouldn't be proposed at all or put to a public vote. And then on the other side of the coin, companies, universities, businesses, security forces, countries across the globe are saying that leaving the EU will completely handicap this country. All this while Boris Johnson visits Cornwall, a county heavily helped by the EU, telling them its better to leave whilst holding a pasty, a food product protected under EU law and states that to be a Cornish pasty, it must be made in Cornwall. It's all so ridiculous and petty.

Oooooh now you're talking if true. It's going to run circles around the rest of the rollercoasters in the park though, Mack launches are sublime

Alton Towers General Discussion
It's right there on the BBC website. The picture of her up a ladder isn't very helpful though, Smiler has vertical ladders, not ones that are sloped. Also, Facebook posts as stories.

How often do you think that works LC?

The Smiler
It's been a few years since I've ridden this and through the comments of how rough it had become or how the perception of the ride has changed since the incident, I must admit my appreciation for the Smiler had gone down of late. So I'm happy to report (on a personal level) that I love this ride. I think once the shadow of reliability and the incident starts to disappear, it will be regarded as a brave and daring ride for the Towers. I was particularly impressed by the pacing of the attraction, it really doesn't let up and I particularly like the speed towards the corkscrew and the finale in which the train just seems to go up a coupe of notches and flings you through the final inversions. Didn't feel the reported roughness at all, this in spite of one ride in a rain shower. After Nemesis, this is my number 2 coaster at Towers.

Universal Studios Florida
To tell you the truth..... as a rollercoaster aside from the launch it's as generic B&M as they come. That being said the new ride may be a lot better but that would be pure conjecture on my part.

Galactica
This 'slow down' has been happening for the last ten years.

Galactica
Is it? As each season goes its getting slower and slower. It's now struggling to do the tiniest of hills. That bend into the tunnel used to be full of force and now it's just really forceless.

I wish we'd got that. Toby is beyond cool.

Galactica
I thought this was a wasted opportunity. Ironically enough, in spite of all the stories of massive queues that I had heard of previously, it seemed to run a flawless three train operation and so the queue remained at 10 minutes all day. I only had one go on 'Galatica' and I didn't think much of it all. Too brief and too rushed it doesn't have a long enough ride to create a story so it just rushes you through locations and then ends. I'd say I was disappointed but I wasn't. IF they had to have had VR it should have been on rides like Runaway Mine Train as then they could have created a story and have the ride length to justify it. On Air, it just makes a short ride feel even shorter which is quite a feat.

Without context as to why the fastrack queue is so long at that point, there are no issues raised that need addressing. Maybe for instance, this is a one off moment and for the rest of the day the fastrack queue has been negligible. Maybe there's an incompetent member of staff who is prioritising the main queue which has caused that fastrack build up. There's many scenarios that could explain that picture without anything needing addressing.

Containment
You mean like how Slammer and Saw have re-opened and how Samurai has already been shown to be moving today. So looks to me like they adding a container and getting rides open, who'd have thought it.

The Big Bad Movie Topic
I would have raved about it but it wasn't necessary. I liked it though, Spiderman, Ant-Man and Black Panther are awesome. I could watch a film with just those three in.

Shambles/10- Containment
Saw Alive then dropped like a stone. Nemesis Sub Terra was dropped faster then an F1 car and that included a ride section. Is that because it just sits there, on a pathway doing nothing for 6 months of a year. If it wasn't there, would any guests ask for a scare maze to do outside of the Halloween season. I don't know anything about Containment, I only know what it is know because of this forum. Would any guest be able to tell the difference between a scare maze and an escape room attraction realistically.- Containment
Seconded. They've tried twice to do the horror maze thing all season round and its never gone well. Why would this be any different.- Europa Park

Whenever I go down South from where I live, I can't believe people still wear track suits. I thought they went out with burberry shirts and caps but no apparently not.- Closed Rides
Marc asked politely for this to stop. So take the hint. - Derren Brown's Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon
