  1. I hope there's enough going on in that building to justify all the excitedness. I'd hate for it to be style over substance
  2. Well firstly the Dueling Dragons incident was where the two blinding incidents took place. When it happened back in 2011, the park stopped the rides duelling. Something else must have happened for the resorts four rollercoasters to now all have metal detectors placed in. I'm amazed that you think Dueling Dragons encouraged coins to be thrown at the other trains. It was actually a technical masterpiece in which two different B&M inverters went round their own courses and on three encounters 'duelled' with each other. Pictures below.
  3. I don't think you can really put a price on peoples lives Ian. Two people blinded for life. Any park would be forced to make changes, especially in America where sue culture runs rife.
  4. I wonder what the reasoning behind it really is. Parks don't just go down this route for fun after all, something drastic must have happened for this knee-jerk reaction.
  5. Yes when it comes to Baco, I am all woman. But not the giving birth thing, I'm sure that hurts more then Baco but only slightly.

It's more the use of 'get over it' then the Apple put down that I find rude. Maybe you should go back to your old Blackberry if it lasts three times as long.
  7. This is the thing right, they aren't even trying. Back in the years of the throughput challenges, Tomb Blaster was aiming for 1000pph and sometimes it actually made it, most of the time it got very close. Same with rides like Rattle, Fury, Falls and Runaway, they were all being pushed to get through as many people as possible. Now it's like they are aiming low deliberately so visiting on a quiet day is the only real option anymore.

God thats rude. Lets face it, any product which people use constantly all day isn't going to keep full battery for weeks on end.
  9. It couldn't handle disabled groups when I worked there, how the hell is it going to handle fastrack as well. Haha.
  10. How are they running that by the way. Do fastrack come up the exit or is it a mutilation of the queue line jobby.
  11. Pirates of the Caribbean. "which queue are we in?!"
  12. Benin hit the point with Colossus. They could have built a simple cattlemen but didn't. With a bit of imagination they could have done something here. Even a more elaborate cattle-pen like Tidal Wave, Vortex, Zodiac or Stealth would be preferable.
  13. It helps to have low standards I guess.
  14. Stealth, Colossus, Blue Fire, Wodan, Matterhorn Blitz, Shambhala, Silver Star, Oblivion, Air, Oz'Iris, The Incredible Hulk, Big Thunder Mountain (at least 3 of them), Space Mountain, X, Rock N Rollercoaster, Poseidon, Dragon Khan, Superman de Acero, Katun, iSpeed, Shock, Shockwave, G-Force, Troublesome Trucks, Seven Drawf Mine Train. Sorry Will, couldn't resist. Luckily you have Colossus, Nemesis Inferno, Stealth, Saw the Ride and The Swarm for your 'pure' rollercoaster thrills then.
  15. There's no written rule as to what a theme park is supposed to be. They can be fun and vibrant like Chessington or they can be dark and scary like Nemesis and Oblivion. Besides you've focused on just the dark and depressing things at Thorpe, how about the comic attitude of Stealth, the humour of WWTP radio at Tidal Wave, the bright tropical paradise of Inferno or the pastel colours of Lost City. Aside from Swarm and Saw, Thorpe's a far brighter place then people give credit for.
  16. Could also be new toilets for 2016.

    Kitchen sink?

Gotcha. I would comment that Chessington can do theming then, they just don't look after it because their budgets are so tight that they can't afford to. Whereas Lego presumably has to meet a particular standard as it's part of the Lego brand.

Any reason you're staring at Chessington in particular?

Hang on single riders back on fury? Considering the amount of near deaths that occurred the last time it was on there I'm astounded that it's returned.

There aren't many rollercoasters that don't sheer a bolt at some point.
  23. Sorry Liam, I don't agree. Merlin in general, have been pretty spot on with their rollercoasters. Each one may have flaws, but on the whole they are good attractions, I love Raptor, The Swarm, Thirteen and The Smiler. I don't think Oblivion is a hint at what the parks may come up with in the future, Raptor is leagues ahead of The Swarm and Daemon in terms of theme, layout, interactiveness and enjoyment for example. When it comes to their rollercoasters, I like them. it's all the other rubbish like I'm a Celeb or Angry Birds Land that I don't need to give the time of day.
