The crane yesterday was in the middle of the Stealth plaza facing towards the top hat, so it may well have been.

I wouldn't be surprised if the support for these older models is more limited now but I'd be surprised if Intamin providing no support at all.

You'd be right in saying that the part needs to be sourced elsewhere, but hopefully it shouldn't be too long now.

Thanks again Jax, brilliant advice :)

No worries :3

Thanks, I'm probably guessing with Stealth that it's a quite big sophisticated part that's gone wrong maybe hence the crane unless it was for something to do with the track. At least we know that Thorpe won't be giving up on their ride though. I'm sure we all know that an LSM launch just isn't really anything quite like a hydraulic launch. I do prefer that massive g force :)

Just to make it clear, Intamin have in no way stopped providing support for their Accelerators. Whilst it's true they don't offer the model any more (or at least, no one has considered doing so for over a decade), it in no way means they've washed their hands of it.

Thorpe/Merlin and Intamin maintain a respectable working relationship, and that is also related to the current issue(s).

Ah glad to hear! That wasn’t there on Tuesday at all. The doors to the launch weren’t open either.

I wouldn't be too sure. They just stick random dates there. What's the availability like after that?

Hi Jax, there’s some kind of red machine there today and they have closed off all the ride area for now. I suppose it’s a great move forward but I’m clueless to what there actually doing. I feel like it won’t be too long until they’ll have her up and running. I’ve uploaded an image.

Shame :(

Might of spied some engineers later on in the day but they didn’t look like they were up to much and it looked like some other people were there with some paint for painting something. The cherry picker hasn’t moved and the area is still closed off. It’s not looking good

The part is still probably in the post then lol, and have probably got the cherry picker there ready for when it DOES arrive.

Remember it's also got to be given the green light from Intamin for it to be fitted, then it has to go through customs and all that faff.

Despite what others are saying on social media, everything seems normal as this is exactly what happened in 2019 when the ride was closed for the same issue during the summer holidays. But the influencers can get their views up a but more by making their panic and bogus speculation videos.

It shouldn't be too long now, and if it doesn't open soon, I expect they'll try their hardest to get it open for May half term, or failing that, the summer holidays.

Hope this brings some clarity :)

Thanks Jax you’re amazing. What happened to it in 2019?

It went down for an extended period of time, most likely due to the same issue it has now, with no correspondence from the park at all.

People speculated then that it would close but it still turned out fine.

There's really nothing to worry about as stated, as if it's not open for the May half term, it'll deffo be back up before the summer holidays :3
