holtjammy16
Wasn't really sure if it fit in to discuss in the music topic Anyone planning on going? (How amazing is the line-up though!) I'm more of a dance music person myself so when I saw some of these announced I almost cried with happiness (Skrillex, Sub focus, Chase & Status, Knife Party, Disclosure & Azealia Banks) and they haven't even anounced the majority of the Dance & 1xtra stages yet! Ryan
Absolutely can't wait, seeing Fall Out Boy, Skrillex, Knife Party and Green Day in the same weekend is going to be awesome! holtjammy16
Deleted Users
Nope. I don't like the direction the festival is currently going.
Smidget
Omg Imagine Dragons There's a load of others there I quite like, but there are more that I don't (Bring Me The Horizon - who the hell wants to see them?!). Not that it matters anyway, I'm too skint to go #studentbudget
holtjammy16
Nope. I don't like the direction the festival is currently going. It seems alot of people have that opinion I'm just happy it's slowly going in a direction similar to Glastonbury etc
Ryan
I'm starting to go through some of the acts announced and so far I'm liking the sound of Iggy Azalea, Disclosure, Baauer, Mallory Knox, The 1975 and Magnetic Man. Never listened to any of them before so would be good to check them out at Reading, obviously depends if they clash with anyone good. holtjammy16
Deleted Users
It seems alot of people have that opinion I'm just happy it's slowly going in a direction similar to Glastonbury etc Lineup preference is subjective of course but the atmosphere and demographic who attend the festivals is completely different. Reading and Leeds attract a much younger crowd. Even the timings of the festivals suggest that. Glasto is during GCSEs/ A Levels normally, while Reading and Leeds start just after GCSE results day. From 2005-2010, it used to sell out before bands were even announced so they were doing something right. In comparison, it 'sold out' a few weeks before the event last year because there was a deal with Viagogo.
Valentez
I don't think I've heard of any of these "artists" apart from Disclosure, Eminem and Skrillex....oh and fruit bastilles (but not the green ones). Would go see Disclosure at a venue but this has zero appeal, personally speaking of course

I more meant the type of acts they're booking The past couple of years R/L has booked way more dance acts then you would've seen say 5 years ago
pluk
All a question of taste of course, but seems strange to me how much better the second and dance stages are compared to the main stage. The only artist on the main stage I'd be bothered about seeing would be Chase and Status, the rest of it looks very stale. holtjammy16 and Ryan
Pickles
I remember when it was Reading Rock Festival. Some of these 'bands' that are on this year wouldn't be playing. Bring Reading Rock back I say. Smidget
Craaig
If the Reading Friday was on the Sunday and headlined by Biffy instead of GD (but I don't mind Green Day, just prefer Biffy - also FOB/SOAD are interchangeable...) I would get a day ticket. But I don't have enough moneyz to do the whole weekend and the Friday is off-limits as girlfriend's birthday anyway. Ellie
Unfortunately, being from Reading, both jobs I've had its been impossible to get time off for fest. That being said, I love Kodaline so much that I intend to go the Friday for them alone! Gutted Imagine Dragons aren't the same day though!
