  1. Yeah agreed - I guess you could have a herd of Walkers in there - although not sure theres the space to make the effective enough.

On the subject of Living Nightmare theres a skip outside it full up.- not sure if its related to the maze or not - I guess we will see in May!

  2. As it will be the only maze open and one of the “pulling points” of The Year of The Walking Dead and of course an “Extreme” version I’m sure we will see more actors in there than you would of a standard Fright Nights night - there’s quite abit of open spaces within there which you could fit in a decent amount of actors!

  3. Originally on my first rides on ghost train there wasn’t an actor in scene 2 with the train crash, an infected actor was added later on, which isn’t part of it now, so from what I can tell there’s only one less actor from the changes.

I agree it looks like the fences into the tunnel have been done cheaply / on site, the crashed train at the end of it definitely hasn’t and is new.

I think the corridor could do with more smoke and an “infected” actor in there to give it abit more effect possibly.

What just a week and then never spoken of again or taken off after a week to provide the “power” to charge phones and then put back on?

I think the former - the boxes are pretty big and ugly attached to the train - but they did light up the more vibrations / noise there was.

Agree with what Ryan said, it’s important to remember this coaster is X, a couple of the block sections have been re-programmed to sync up with the theming but other than that the ride it’s self is the same.

I’ve always found X pretty fun, even back to X:\ No way Out days, and again this is a fun experience, there’s a complete story throughout and the theming is good, especially in the queue / exit area, really like the amount of Easter eggs too with throw backs to old members of staff, old advertising for X:\ No way out etc. I think it will do pretty well for the park but time will tell!

Says the man with Shame-hala and OzIris in his top 10...

The unwashed masses descended on my 3rd day and operations were good, certainly a lot better than Merlin in recent years. Every seat filled, fast dispatches and quick restarts from breakdowns, not sure what else you expect?

I had a sit down meal in the pizza restaurant near Baco on my 2nd day, it was lovely, you are mistaken.

Maybe things have changed this year, I love PA but their operations on every visit of mine are easily the worse of any park I’ve been too - certainly no efforts to fill seats / quick dispatches so hopefully they’ve realised for a park of their popularity they really needed better operations.

  6. It’s an interesting one - i can see why they are trying it, one of the biggest complaints from Merlins own food outlets is speed of service, there’s no doubt a contactless tap is quicker than cash 9 times out of 10.

As for it cutting off the parks target audience I’m not so sure - to be honest I can’t really remember how old I wasn’t when I got my first debit card but i certainly wasn’t that old, long with I’m sure the park has data on card usage to be able to work out just how successful it will be - be interesting to see in a month or so’s time if it’s it’s still a policy is as many of the parks outlets.

  7. It’s not like bag holds are an amazing solution - will it really make much difference to throughputs - I’m not so sure, and the queuing after to get your bag wasn’t much fun either.

Would quite like to see merlin to go down the more universal route, lockers before the queue, it will be a job convincing people to part with their bags for an entire queue though.

I’m going to Thorpe Park on the 24th and I’m a little nervous about going on swarm, and I sound silly because I’ve done saw and I loved it the first three times and the fourth made me feel I’ll so now don’t go on it , but I really want to ride swarm but I’m afraid I will not enjoy it. And if it helps I’ve done expedition Everest at Disney World, if that’s anything to compare to it ???

The Swarm isnt as bad as it looks - iits a good fun smooth experience which im sure you'll enjoy. Compared to Saw, The Swarm don't throw you round quite so much, so hopefully that helps with not making you feel ill! :)
