  1. It’s not like bag holds are an amazing solution - will it really make much difference to throughputs - I’m not so sure, and the queuing after to get your bag wasn’t much fun either.

Would quite like to see merlin to go down the more universal route, lockers before the queue, it will be a job convincing people to part with their bags for an entire queue though.

I’m going to Thorpe Park on the 24th and I’m a little nervous about going on swarm, and I sound silly because I’ve done saw and I loved it the first three times and the fourth made me feel I’ll so now don’t go on it , but I really want to ride swarm but I’m afraid I will not enjoy it. And if it helps I’ve done expedition Everest at Disney World, if that’s anything to compare to it ???

The Swarm isnt as bad as it looks - iits a good fun smooth experience which im sure you'll enjoy. Compared to Saw, The Swarm don't throw you round quite so much, so hopefully that helps with not making you feel ill! :)

FarceTrack disgusts me still. With this level of flexibility in what anyone can do with their queue jumping ticket once purchaced, can we now dispel the myth that fastrack is in any way controlled, managed or timed to stop it crippling the park for everyone? There effectively no limits in how many people can push in front of you once you are in any given queue. Nice on Thorpe!

Depends how its done, for example if you choose your rides at the time of purchase then it will come out of the rides allocations they have set for fastrack.

I think i read somewhere this system is similar to the one in place at Phantasialand, im sure someone who's been / used it will know more though and how well it works in reality.

Fair play Thorpe - £10 for 4pm-10pm is a good shout - heck I might even go myself :D

Interesting that DBGTROTD is only included in the very top fast-track package - I guess that means the queues will be kept down (ish).

Think this was the case last year too apart from with one shots - not seen any details

    if they are still there.

  5. A few new ticketing details have been released for the 2018 season, over Summer the park will sell a special Summer Lates Pass, which will get you into the park from 4pm till 10PM for just £10 during the late night openings which will no doubt help keep the later nights busier and hopefully see the event be more successful than Summer Nights. Along with that fastrack has seen abit of a re-vamp, with off peak and peak packages along with the options to mix and match where you use your fastrack allocations.

Looks really good - one thing which is abit of a shame is the lack of evening openings till October- would be good for towers to experiment with some late nights in summer like thrope are again this year.

  7. I get the feeling this will surprise a few - seems it was written off pretty early on in its construction, but as each update has come out its looked better and better.

It’s not likely to be the best coaster at towers, but looks very well themed and will be a good edition to the lineup.

  8. Tickets for AP day were released at 10 and sold out by 10:20! Another batch will be out on the 24th.

This is also a nice little touch

Also, for one-time-only, join us in the marquee throughout the day for eXpo:\2018 – a celebration of the iconic X coaster! This unique event is exclusive to Annual Passholders and is the perfect chance to bid farewell to the coaster in its current form, as well as getting a sneak peek of what’s to come in 2018.

Check out guest speakers, including Lead Creative John Burton, take advantage of rare photo opportunities and bask in the nostalgia of this awesome attraction. PLUS don’t forget to grab your limited edition pop badge to mark the occasion, available on a first come first served basis!

  9. Last year the costs for Fright Nights varied depending on the date you went, with the busier ones being more expensive , I *think* it started at £10 and went up to £20 but someone correct me if I’m wrong!

The t&cs say the summer event will be affected too but as it’s the first time we’ve had this event it’s difficult to guess how much it would be.

What an absolute joke Thorpe Park have become. One bad decision after another  with their new investments.

The place is a total dump and this new run down addition just tops it off.

The amount of money they waste on rubbish temporary attractions like this  could have been used to tidy up the decaying park.

Thinking back through the years when there was Colossus > Nemesis Inferno > Samurai > Slammer and Rush > Stealth > Saw.

They were really heading somewhere and now look. I blame too many young inexperienced managers. Pathetic Thorpe Park !

Investment as you mention like that was never sustainable long term, it was obviously great but I think everyone knew they wouldn’t keep that up long term.

As for tidying up the park, new investments will come from a totally different pot, on twitter there’s some pictures from monks walk suggesting has Rush been repainted - so fingers crossed we will see more :)

I wonder if the return of the height restriction means the brake runs are back?

The press release suggests the stops will be back “The ride itself will travel through darkened tunnels and shudder to unexpected halts to ramp up the terror.”

Also suggests we could see some tunnels within the ride area its self, theres potential there they could add some theming to the animations. Also from the concepts i wonder if "Loading Zone" is what the station will look like.

I am very confused about this Height thing like 1.4 the only really other time I see that is on coasters with inversions your rides over 100ft why such a dramatic change when it has no inversions (unless they've done something inside the pyramid that we have no idea of) I'm just curious why the change though.

    - never mind someones answered my quesition

It will be to do with the Theme / audience. IF they theme it to the same standards of Living Nightmare we will have a decently themed coaster on our hands, its a bit of a shame to lose X for the family market mind, but am looking forward to seeing what they do with this.
