  1. I didn't get there till 6 ish too - we were kind of helped by more allocation becoming available after the initial batch had all gone - once they had gone up the virtual waits were much less. You'll be fine - the park wouldn't continue to run a system if it affected it's paying customers days as much as it's made out.
  2. Got on them all apart from BWP (Could of done if had wanted) Used RnR for Studio 13, Saw Alive and Cabin. It seemed to work for us, longest wait we had was around 20 mins for Studio 13 which was better than the 60 min standby queue. I think RnR has potential, I think there being 3 Queues (RnR, Fastrack and Standby) does complicate things slightly, if they could do fastrack only through RnR and make it 2 queues that may work better but could end up upsetting fastrack users.
  3. They are all open now
  4. At the end of the day, its upto the management of the parks to decide what the rules are, if you don't like it, don't visit, no ones forcing you too.
  5. It is still similar sized groups.
  6. Would explain Fish's early closure
  7. There's no limit to fastrack plus , once you've used your first 3 you can do 3 more. To be fair they seemed to suffer the same fastrack issues - as soon as a ride went down fastrack allocations went to pot and end up stood in a non moving queue. I guess there's no 100% bullet proof way of doing things.
  8. Reduced to a degree (assuming no more guests are attracted) - for RnR to truly work they need things which can please large groups of people and not be something else you need to queue for. Either way I'm sure it will be a interesting few years!
  9. As it stands - I agree there isn't enough things to do with RnR in full operation, realistically though I think if they can make it work as they want to that is years away, in which time they could add additional things to do to help combat this problem.
  10. Having fastrack through the app in theory will help as the system will be aware of the amount of people in the normal virtual queue and fastrack queues and be able to estimate queues better. Glad they are trying it on mazes - can see it working quite well if people understand it.
  11. Not to sure about the actors but I'm pretty sure it is official!
  12. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ugM942grcS4 - thought this was pretty good!
  13. It depends on the day. If it's one of these days they know they will have a high chance of issues then security is stepped up with police presence / more bag searching.I was at one of these days at towers last year and the crowds around the towers was horrible - you literally had to squeeze through 100's of people blocking the entrances, there was police there watching over things and didn't see much trouble apart from at a couple of mazes.
  14. Heh - if you think Thorpe with maze fastrack is bad you've seen nothing till you see how much universal sell!
  15. I think this sums up pretty well this isnt a problem exclusive to Thorpe..
  16. Is it not a bit different? I thought Smiler ran all 5 of its train and was never bought as a "Spare"?
  17. Yeah definitely - going up is pretty slow and waiting for it to tilt was what got me, and when you started tilting it felt like it took for ever. Its hard to tell how the drop was to HK - I'm sure the laying down did add some to the intensity.
  18. Whilst not majorly intense Falcons fury was pretty good - much better than Hurakan Condor but still not anything on Detonator. The restraint vests are quite hard - comfortable but I wouldn't like to sat in them to long in the laying down position. They also had a new thing where the seatbelts get locked too and were not able to be undone until the restraints were released - not seen this on a ride before.
  19. I agree with this - 45 mins is a long queue especially one one train - which goes back to what I said earlier its fine when queues are 10/15 mins long, its just they need to be able to be in a position to increase the capacity when needed.
  20. Whats the point in sending a ride round with empty seats? 1 Train is fine if the queues are at an acceptable length. Its difficult to compare thorpe to places like Disney / Cedar Point - they are on on totally different scales and what is probably considered a quiet day at these parks would be a busy day at thorpe. Whilst Alton are very good at running rides on 2 trains, their operating hours are probably the worse of any other UK park so its swings and roundabouts really.
  21. I don't have a problem with them running 1 train on rides when the parks quiet enough most parks do it and - 10/15 min queues are perfectly acceptable - it becomes more of a problem when the parks busier than expected and for whatever reason they are not able to add the 2nd train causing queues to become quite some length.

    Logger's Leap

It's worked for 25 years, whys it need fixing now? I guess none of you visited when you had to take your stuff on tidal wave!
  23. The hold on tight and brace your self is just on a 3 min loop and plays every min or so.
  24. There have been 3! After the original "Ready to Go.. Looking good.... 3 2 1goo goo go" There was somthing like "Ready to go keep your heads back.. 3 2 1" and then the one we have now. Ready to go looking good heads back was too long for the launch sequence

Noticed that that side of the row comes *very* close to a rather large tree - I expect this is why and once thats sorted they will be able to re-open them seats
