  1. Surely if you was going to buy one you would arrange the same with a group of friends so you all had one :S? It depends how you plan your visits, as has been said, the park have given you ample time to book your ticket at £5 in advance, this helps the park get an idea of how many people will be visiting which I expect is a great help to them, with the fastback being worth £25 you only actually have to have 3 spur of the moment trips to make this worth it. If your someone who plans trips in advance then its worth paying the fiver now and the bolt on isn't worth it. Just because its not value for money for you don't mean it isn't for a wider audience!
  2. To be fair Merlin do similar deals around that time too, I know merlin are not perfect but IMO their annual passes do represent very good value, even if the Standard does have paid extras.
  3. Merlin Premium Annual Pass: £199 BPB Annual pass: £189.60 Merlin Standard Pass:(With restrictions granted) £159 Merlins offering looks much better value to me.. Cant really comment on Oakwood as have not been in years.
  4. I bought fastrack and used the fastrack entrance. Exit is for disabled riders.
  5. The problem with samurai is it needs 15 people to run - on the quieter ones it would be sat there waiting for people. I think with dodgems /teacups in this years line up they had a fairly good balance of rides.
  6. Just got back from the final Summer Nights of the season - probably the busiest I've seen it with all the main coasters having around 15 - 20 min queues. Was good to see the event busier proving it can work and will hopefully see it return next season
  7. You tried Twitter - often get the best results here nowadays with any company.
  8. Yep - early in it's life it had metal plates on the side of it's trains which stopped you from being able to do so but were a massive pain, they were removed when these new restraints which stop you lifting your legs were installed.

    Slammer

Problems with restraints doesn't automatically mean they are going to just open, the chances of that are terribly minute. The thorpe engineers know the ride better than we do, if they thought there was any risk of riders being stuck for long periods it wouldnt be open.
  10. Surely it depends what time of year you go - the trials being held in the middle of summer at a time when queues are usually pretty long that would be pretty good. I dont see how a 1200pph ride goes to waste as the RnR system will simply allocate 1200 people per hour to the swarm (Give or take some for fastrack allocations etc).

The restraints are designed to move slightly - it's nothing to worry about

    Slammer

For all the stick you give them Merlin have maintained slammer for years to keep it operational..
  13. An average everyday guest would be more than happy with that on a busy summers day though?
  14. Wow - And people complained that Angry Birds land ruins Stealth
  15. It's not rotting. A small bit of earth has given way leaving a bit of a hole.. I'm sure the weather don't help and I'm sure it won't be difficult to fix either!

As I said all we can do is wait and see - like it or not Thorpe have a much better idea how these trails are going than we do - the positive / negative feedback on social will be just a tiny percentage of the real feedback they have from actually talking to the guests at the park who have used the system which we have no access too. If the feedback was as bad as some of you claim for it to be the park would simply not carry on with this... But I think the biggest issue is people being adverse to change.. If you had said 5 years ago busses in London won't be accepting cash anymore you would have thought that's mad and come up with a list of reasons why that would never work and I'm sure during trails it would of had it's criticism, but now...

It's very easy sitting behind a keyboard saying it won't work and doing some maths based on guessed ride throughputs but none of it is fact. Let's look at things logically for a second - I know there are people who will never like this system because it will affect THEIR days , but Thorpe has to cater for the majority of it's guests not the minority. Thorpe are the only ones who truly know how well this is working / not working, looking at twitter for a few good / bad comments and looking at the queue times from home is no real indicator to how the systems working. If the system works and the majority of the feedback is good then the park will continue to develop the system, if the feedback is bad then they won't, it really is that simple. We represent a tiny minority of the parks guests, and as I said only they will know the true success of this system.

The way you talk about the place you would never enjoy visiting anyway so RnR will make very little difference to you! I think if they can get the majority of the GP to understand the system and how it works then they will see the benifits and start to use it, but I think guests understanding it is going to be the biggest problem for them to overcome.

Thing is theres very little choice for the park, for RNR to work, it HAS to have priority over the main queue. RnR as it stands is a free system and those who are stood in the queues can and no doubt will see the advantages or using it and will start to do so them selves. My only worry with RnR is what will happen on quieter days and if there will be a magical number of guests where they decide RnR should operate but I guess we will find out soon enough if the trails continue to be successful and they choose to implement it more.

Hate to disappoint you as I know your really hoping this system fails but the trials over the past few days have been very successfull and the feedback from those who use it sounds very good.
  21. You can still queue normally if you want - but it works in your favor to use reserve n ride. After looking over social media it looks to have got nothing but good feedback today!
  22. http://youtu.be/cy0yIZzRlTg - the first of the teaser videos set to go live later today
  23. This year in addition to the coasters Tidal Wave, Storm Surge, King Pigs Wild Hog Dodgems and Storm in a Teacup have been open.
  24. Noticed Summer Nights signs said you could stay for just £10 - not sure if this is for annual pass holders too! Was a nice crowd tonight - not to dead to be soulless but no queues
  25. Stealth was closed for the first hour so I think it may have been because of that but Stealth did open
