  1. Nice work Marc! It really is looking great. Welcome back B&M!
  2. 'They'? I assume that you mean the two guys in the ride video? (I can assure you that they loved it).
  3. It just baffles me! I've never followed a wooden coaster's construction before. I'm all over this next season, it's incredible!
  4. Raptor's was quite good, apart from the AWFUL audio. I also think that it's a shame you don't get the full lift hill video, as that's where you'd catch a lot of nervous riders!
  5. If it follows along the lines of both Raptor's and Krake, I too will be pretty happy!
  6. Actual ride audio of riders on the ride like and some pleasing construction footage, also found on the Blue Fire DVD's.
  7. Watching it now on BBC 3 and oh dear, the parks ride availability shines on national TV! Stealth down for two hours!
  8. ...Don't forget that Saw the ride, was made 'more terrifying than ever' the following years too. It's almost like they need an excuse to re-advertise the biggest new ride...
  9. Whilst I'm sad to see it go (hell, I remember the park before CCR arrived), the fact that it's busy a few peak days out of an otherwise empty season, I think it was just a matter of time until we lost another bit of old Thorpe.
  10. OR the park is getting busier and busier and people see it as a rest from standing in another long Fright Night queue?

ATA have a good selection of behind the scenes pictures..
  12. So does the Saw ride exterior building, looks run down..
  13. The queueline is split into two heading into the station. One on one side, and the other crosses over a bridge, to the other side. Raptor had an automatic countdown of the number of riders per side, to allow through. I expect Thorpe will use a member of staff, or just allow the queueline to fill either side. When the train stops, guests are unloaded and exit toward the front of the train, when they clear, the batching gates open allowing you to board.Looking forward to see how it all comes together at Thorpe, especially if we do see a front row queueline too!
  14. I have no idea what we're talking about, I assume the two large beams and from this plan, where the train exits the station building, looks like the start of the tower.
  15. I don't know that it is when you put in the enormous train and the batching gates either side. Looking forward to see how it works as I assume it will batch just like Raptor..
  16. Yes, there does need to be a certain percentage of working effects, but doesn't that show you that they CAN do it... if they have too?
  17. While of course that is a worry, in all fairness; as much as I hate that bumpy cheap Saw thing, it's effects have been pretty good...not amazing, I've ridden it far too many times without effects, but it's certainlly improved than say Inferno. However with Swarm, we can be sure for a mass of effects and due to the scale of the project and it's status amongst theme parks and enthusiasts, I'm pretty confident they can pull it off for the long term, not just press day.
  18. Ugh! Don't compare this splendid coaster to a Gerstler Euro-Fighter!
  19. Aren't a huge number of young 'women' who attend Fright Nights, Massively over dressed anyway? Isn't this the exact type of person we mostly see at this time of year anyway?
  20. That's because Saw-the Ride is a flimsy, cheapo, rough 'wanna be dive machine' and The Swarm is an expensive, reliable, Rolls-Royce of a roller coaster. I'm going to make full use of the week after Fright Nights to photograph this baby!
  21. Horrid atmosphere last night, caused my horrid, horrid 'travelling' guests, marks the end of Fright Night's for me I'm afraid!
  22. I don't think that I'm far myself! Anyone hear Raptor or Krake's audio this year? Now they ARE park music..
  23. Fever. Needs. A. Paper. Bag... What, nine years since such excitement?? Breathe....Saw The Ride is such an embarrassment already!
  24. Ten mins later and mine is still loading.. is it worth it?Great to see the construction diary up and will be nice to see it going up from well, under it!
