Who's to say it is down to budget cuts? Maybe they've simply had a change of heart? And if it is down to budget cuts, I'd much rather them cut a (run-down looking) tower which is just there for show, than something inside the building.

Loggers is still standing I believe; you can't see much of it though mind!
Warehouse and signage look fab. More photos on TPM's Facebook. By the looks of the map, we have a min height restriction of 1m and a recommended age of 13+.

The difference in this situation is that there's been no reliable source for Samurai and X being closed. It's possible that they were just missed off / they're not certain even way. They are definitely set to return for the 2016 season though. EDIT: X will be open this weekend...
No doubt if the £5m number is true, they've bolstered that as much as possible. I guess it depends on how much Figment Productions wanted for the video(s?) they've produced and whatnot too.

Samurai and X appear on the ride page, whereas Loggers does not. So I think it's fair to assume they will be opening for 2016.
I think Merlin need to be clearer that these AP days are *PREVIEW* days, so it is possible that a full line up won't happen, because they are finishing off for the main season, which is when there should be a full line up. That way, people understand everything and shouldn't need to complain. I think most people here understand / appreciate these should be seen as previews and a bonus for AP holders.

Ooh, good point. Thorpe's numbers were seemingly also affected last season, so I'd be surprised if Towers' drop in numbers was so large that it'd be less than Thorpe. But who knows!
Let's move back to generally discussion Alton Towers... Alton Towers is the most visited theme park in the UK. Yay. Go them.
One thing which I think worth pointing out is that it's been mentioned that this is a "multi-million" pound investment in what Merlin have said is a low investment year. So it's reassuring to see that even low investments do have the backing they need to make them, hopefully, good investments.
