  1. I think that sending Nemesis to Chessie makes me smile more.
  2. Storm in a Teacup (Sorry, I know sometimes it's SITAC )
  3. Wow, haven't done one of these in a while. :DGot to the park at 20 past 9ish where I met up with Andrew H. Park was very quiet looking and, for a good while, was quiet - which was of course good! After hellos and that, we went towards Stealth which was actually working at the start of the day (don't die of shock people ). Nice front row ride followed by another. T'was good. Then headed to Inferno for a good as usual ride. Good to see the mist is still working. Wandered over to Loggers, after which, it aptly rained a little. The ride photos were rather out of time though, couple of seconds early I think. Shame, especially considering we'd pulled some nice poses. At this time, Saw Alive was practically a walk on, so did that, for a very 'scary' experience. It's true to say, we were shaking in our boots, and didn't want to go any where near the dark. So we headed to X. Very short queue inside the building which was good. Novelty of the lights on has well and truly worn off now for me now.Park started to get busy now. Think we wandered over Colossus and headed onto Slammer for an okay-ish ride, though loading is TERRIBLE for the thing. Then wandered over to the Flying Fish, taking the Cool route round. Rumba and Teacup times were had; Rumba is a fail of a water ride, Teacups is just brilliant. Wandered back over to CC for a quick pop on CCR - which has been ride of the season for me so far. Wandered back over to Amity for a spot of Burger King; were going to eat in Sunken Garden but Stealth had decided to close down. Afterwards, we saw Sam and Matt for hellos and then popped into GS so Andrew could see Morwenna (I think ). Left just after one. Considering that, I think this is a good Ride Count...Stealth x2 (x1 Front Row)Inferno x1Loggers Leap x1Slammer x1Saw Alive x1X:\WTF x1 (x1 Front like Row)Rumba Rapids x1Teacups x1Flying Fish x1CCR x1Cheers Andy
  4. Ah right. Cheers. :DWill sort out Lego tonight / tomorrow. Don't be surprised if I start making my way round other parks as well..
  5. Cheers for the additions. :DTo be honest, I've bo idea what SA is, I saw it listed as an attraction on a site (forgotten what one). Will try and find the link though.
  6. Benin, we already knew Mack were amazing! You are right indeed! It is an awkward one to decide on, so dunno what to class it as..
  7. Yeah, sure. :DNow just need to sort out what time, where exactly yadda yadda yadda. :DPM me or whatever yeah?
  8. Well, as a small project, I've been researching what Ride Manufacturers are at what park. Just been a bit of randomness to be honest. Anyways, I've done the 3 major Merlin parks and here's the results:(Not sure about everything to be honest. If I've made a mistake or something, feel free to correct me . Also, I know some people don't class In House as a manufacturer, so that's why they're separated from the rest, and why the manufacturer count is x / x+1.)Thorpe Park Manufacturers:B&M (Inferno)Intamin (Colossus, Stealth, Rumba Rapids)Gerstlauer (Saw)Vekoma (X:\WTF)Mack (Flying Fish, SIAT, Loggers Leap, Rocky Express)S&S (Rush and Slammer)Fabbri (Detonator and Quantum)HUSS (Zodiac)Mondial (Samurai)KMG (Vortex)Hopkins (Tidal Wave)NV Aquatic (Depth Charge)Severn Lamb (CCR)Metallbau Emmeln (Mr Monkey's Banana Ride)Berzatton? GrrTad pathetic of a Rant I know, but anyways...A now ex friend of mine is going to a Private School for college. He got a scholarship and all well good. Congrats to him and such.He acted rather snobbish about it, he was told and he eventually stopped. Now, he starts all blooming over again. He says I should start making friends with people who go to Private Schools as they have more interesting conversations and they don't use words such as 'Meh', like I do when I'm bored / busy. He also finds the use of the word Meh insulting. This occasion, I've been busy due to writing on here. :)He then goes on to his usual old routine as to how Private education is the greatest, so on and on. Just general annoyance and that. He then brings up, yet again (I ranted about this... lol), how I didn't go to a Prom after party despite him knowing I'm not someone to get drunk nor be around those who are drunk (like 95% at the after party) due to personal reasons.Just an annoyance I needed to get off my chest!

Couple of things from me..Why's the Slippery Serpent topic been locked? I understand it was locked to review over posts and to delete some, but why permanently lock it? Discussion is discussion, whatever way you look at it.Why can't ordinary members start new topics in the Thorpe Park forum? We can easily make new thread in the Past, Future and Question parts, so why not now? Seems a bit like running that part of the forum run like a form dictatorship - only mods can start discussion, and not members..
  13. When would people say this quite period ends? End of this week? Next week?I've tended to steer clear of Chessie during the summer due to the costs and travel difficulties for not wanting to risk having a rubbish day, but will definitely try and get there during this quite period.

My rant. When people have defriended you on Facebook for no apparent reason; they really need to grow some I think.
  15. Off to Thorpe again today. Expect a small TR later. :)Also planning weekly trips every Tuesday, so if anyone wants to join me, give me a shout.

Agreed. You'd have thought they'd do something imaginative. They called it Th13teen for a reason..I think the PR department were bored..
  17. I can't come off without having to do it again..
  18. Well, today I did something I've been meaning to do for a LONG time. Just before I left, I popped into GS to ask if there was any way of being able to compliment staff via GS. The member of staff there, who I can't remember the name of for the life of me, was rather shocked, stating how it is very rare for that request, but she was also very pleased. Now, I know there's the whole no naming names policy, but I don't care. These staff have been constantly brilliant on every trip I've been one and they truly deserve as much praise and recognition as possible. Rikki, who you may have seen on Rocky Express being very vocal or sometimes the Fish, is just amazing. He always adds to the ride experience and is just so much fun. John, who drives CCR. Anyone who has been on CCR with him driving will know just has good he his. "This is usually the scariest part of the ride, where an ugly witch jumps out and scares everyone. Unfortunately, my mother-in-law doesn't work today." Also, Thomas. Seen him on the Fish and CCR (becoming a bit of a common factor ey? ). He's just a nice funny guy who is always chatty. Plus, him singing to the CC audio track. Just lol. There's also another op, on FF, who is really good. Always says "The world needs people like you" or something at the end of each ride. Would have complemented him too, but didn't know his name. So yeah, if just couple more people would spare 5 minutes before they leave, maybe the world would be a better place.

As much as queueline smokers annoy me, I find it worse when you see people by the younger child's rides smoking. Even though it's banned, I've seen people smoke in OG and when you see people smoking by the fence of Rocly Express, that annoys me too.The worst experience I had was when a mother with children around 5/6 was smoking on the carriage next to me on CCR. She carried on even though I told her it was wrong - so told the guard as soon as I got off. (Oh how I love people who struggle opening those gates XD).

Yeah, bit late to respond. I understand greatly how you must not like the ride, as my nan is in a similar situation. However, you can obviously understand the appeal to others. :PAnd I must say I LOVE TB with a great passion, but it sounds pretty weak at the moment, a great shame.

As sad as it sounds, it makes it a better effect. Makes the area feel more ruined and unreliable and such. Trust Thorpe to make an effect that is just as effective, if not more, when it doesn't work!
  23. JoshC. replied to Theme Park bloke's topic in The Real World
I hope I was in no way involved in this with my earlier post in the 2011 topic. If I was, I'm sorry. :PAnyways, I complete understand what you mean and am regularly in the same position. People who make you out as something you're not just pee me off.

I thought the empty seats were just because it was a rubbish ride? :PHonestly, I prefer the new system. I hate queuing inside the building for more than 5 minutes. Far to uncomfortable, hot and not really that effective for theming - the feels of being inside wears off before you ride.
