I like the old theme, but this new one is not as bad as I thought it would be. Anyone notice at the 1 minute mark they have completely forgotten to paint just one section of the fence (a speaker cover), which is still bright green? I just hope they have left Inferno and Colossus alone as they were rumoured to be changing!

Looking forward to going 1st April, first time in five years. Shame the new ride won't be open but the place is awesome enough anyway

The Gruffalo River Ride Adventure

It is most certainly an improvement on Bubbleworks 2, but it's hard to appreciate as much as should be when the original Bubbleworks was done so amazingly in a time with far less technology and expectations. I mean add in an image of the original bubbleworks for comparison too. (From British Theme Park Archives) It will be a success. -

Looking a lot better than I expected. Sadly lots to maintain and we all know that's not Merlin's strong point. http://live.themeparkguide.biz -
It still hasn't been perfect but has been more consistent the last two seasons, previous seasons it gave up by April/may and then was never sorted for the rest of season. At least they have managed to bother fixing it if it breaks the last few seasons. The one that surprised me last year was the spinning blades beneath Saw: The Ride's drop. They worked faultlessly every season until last year, and I didn't see them work once in 2016.

I like that it has its current soundtrack even if it is silly to use a video game soundtrack. People actually dance to it haha. The station could benefit from not using the same track and having the old announcements and sound effects there in my opinion.

^ That clarifies the disagreement between ChessingtonSam and I It was flipping fine when I saw it going Sunday, and wasn't as noisy as in the video.

Because today there was no queue at all! I rode it several times and walked on. Wait until the Easter holidays.
-
Yes it was... Walked past at least 4 times.

A queue will start to form from opening though I'm sure! -
I didn't go today, was just trying to see all the updates from today browsing the net. I am going tomorrow so will check it out.

Something clearly wrong with Rameses Revenge in this video clip from today :/
-
I have to agree, it looks like Chessington actually thought this one through. Looks like it has a water feature as well.

Only to speed up loading as far as I know.

Guess that means back to forced sharing of boats then. Something I've liked at Chessington last view seasons is that they haven't forced you to share like in the past.

Thanks That's really useful to know, I guess everyone was "new to it" at some point. I wonder if I am the only newbie attending this one?

About time I came to one of these meets. Please put me down. I am very quiet around new people initially as a heads up I shall attend the meal if it's not too late, but no worries if it is as I can see a lot of people are going and can't be easy organising.

Literally driving home this evening and drive past a shop to see this out of the corner of my eye. Turn round and it's the feet from the Bubbleworks. Very random. A shop in Carshalton, Surrey.

I'm not so sure on this as the article below says Alton Towers and Madame Tussauds were under a 35 year lease. So that would mean no renewing/taking back can be done until at least 2042? Thorpe must be similar. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6902797.stm

I don't think they should change them either. Hope this is just a rumour and doesn't happen.

Can the camp resort/hotels be accessed by the general public? I am also heading there in April and would quite like to visit the Silver Lake Saloon, but will be staying in Rust.

There is something about seat number 3 on Skyforce. It is the only seat I can get a significant number of spins on (usually around the 40 mark). Whenever I have sat in any other seats I have not managed more than 5 spins

I don't remember there being a train wash, where abouts was it? I only remember that on the Chessington Railroad at the back of Mystic East.

Great video of the ride in it's opening year, Some footage of Runaway train too. Credit goes again to British Theme Park Archive.
