CWOA certainly did not close it 9-10pm in summer 07, I personally don't ever remember it stating open that late, even in Halloween it shuts at 8pm.

Ticket Prices/ BOGOFs And Vouchers
Mattgwise replied to taz8520's topic in Chessington World of Adventures
I have never seen a voucher that would let two people in free before. With regards to vouchers you mainly have one of two choices.1. If there is 3 of you use a 2for1 voucher and a half price voucher (I know Burger King did do them, but not sure if the offer is still going)2. Use a 2for1 voucher for 2 of you and then for the third person ask a random person that is in an odd numbered group if they want to pay half price. There is no student discount available. The 50% off through the official site is only valid for groups of more than 10. For groups less than 10 it is up to 25% off when booking online. This makes the gate price of £36 reduce to £27 when booking online. The best option is definately using a voucher, they can be found all over the place so it shouldn't be too difficult to get one. Hope that helps. -
This Tomb Blaster loading business is silly. I bet it is a damn H&S thing again, maybe as there are no airgates it is now seen as a risk allowing customers to queue in the rows as they might step over the line. H&S get more over the top as the years go by.

I was just about to post this as I happened to pause it on skyplus and noticed it as I paused it when the detonator game started. Wow that is like 9 years ago that footage was taken. Still seems yesterday that it was still there.

That is quite annoying. I'm quite surprised actually as the park has been quite busy this year.
-
Yep that looks pretty accurate. Who remembers the train wash that it used to go through?

Had a good day at Chessington today. First time in a while and was quite impressed, really like Wild Asia, the park was looking nice and it wasn't too busy but at the same time not to empty. The longest we queued was about 25 mins for Dragons Fury and Runaway Train. Really enjoyed walking around the zoo which actually made me miss the Farm at Thorpe Park as it is nice to get away from rides for a little while. Ive posted anything about specific rides in the appropriate threads.Ride CountSeastorm x2Black Buccanear x2Vampire x1BubbleworksRameses x1Dragon Falls x1Peeking Heights x1Tomb Blaster x1Rattlesnake x1Runaway Train x1Kobra x1Monkey Swinger x1Tuk Tuk Turmoil x1Also managed to look at all of zoo and it seems that the animals for the new African Savannah Experience have arrived as we saw two Zebras popping their heads out of a building opposite creature features where the new area is being built.

Didn't see any of the smoke/fire effect people have been talking about today. Also heard the new announcement for first time and yes it is awful. Also the music/mission video speech and announcement in station talk at the same time and at the loud volume it is just awful and really annoying. The loading was wierd today too, they were not allowing people to queue in the rows but instead you have to wait at the start and gradually follow the attendant row by row when filling it up. Eg she would stand in front of the first row as the first two are sent through, then move down one row and then the next group of three would go etc until she gets to the last row. (sorry if I made no sense). Maybe it is a H&S thing and they have been told to do it this way until the get air gates or someting? Anyone know why?

Haven't been to the park for a while and they were giving two rides on this today and second time round it seemed to go upside down 4 times in a row, I don't ever remember it going over that many times or is it just a setting I have never seen before? Was great fun and find it brilliant that the ride still pulls in so many spectators.
-
Area music was very low today and probably sounded lower due to Bubbleworks music blaring out (which was good too). I just wish they would put the theme in the queue line, it would really make it better.
-
Really enjoyed Dragon falls today, not to wet on drop, actually got wetter from a sprinkler after the drop and the elephant spray. Also the water is so clean compared to other Log flumes.Didn't notice anyone dressed up.

I think Thorpe Park have been brilliant this year with keeping rides open, I have hardly seen anything on the website to say a ride is closed whereas last year and previous years they had rides shut a lot. So I think it definately helped scrapping thrill chill.

I quite like it being Pizza Hut and you say expensive!!!! Personally I find it great value and probably the cheapest place to eat at Thorpe Park for what you get, in fact it is bizarrely cheaper than normal Pizza Hut buffet as it is £7.99 for Pizza, Pasta, salad and drinks. Normal Pizza Hut is something like £6.99 without the drink. However I do agree with you about he serving areas being quite poor, I always worry that my plate is going to be sent flying when around the buffet area.

Must have been hit and miss because there was a actor there when I visited this time last year.
-
The actors were only ever there when the ride first opened last season (first few months) and fright nights. I am sure they will do the same this fright nights. They had people dressed in pig masks and a person in the trap at the bottom of the stairs.

The fast track situation is silly, It causes the normal queue to move much slower as the let so many fasttrack people through and whats even sillier is that the people that actually pay for fasttrack still have to queue 10 - 20 minutes. I too wish they would rethink it, and have a much lower limit for it (its money for them though so I cant see it).No Inferno is not using the exit line for fasttrack, it uses the walkway to the right of the main entrance of Inferno. Then both the normal queue and fasttrack queue combines at the bottom of the stairs.I also agree that Thorpe have been much better this year. There have been far less break downs this year so far (most days all rides have been available) and when rides have broken down they havent just given up for the rest of the day and closed the ride like they have done in previous years, they have actually bothered to try fixing them. Stealth for example as we know has been having lots of problems recently but again they try and reopen everytime instead of just giving up. I'm sure the engineering and rides teams are just as annoyed as the general public when it breaks down.

The loading theme was the pre 2007 detonator theme.

Here is a video of it stuck from youtube. Just under 90 degrees.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAmcGrWDKu0

I'm sure I saw this going when I came off of Samurai at 5:55pm, they must have got it up and running pretty quick.
-
Roughly todays (6/04/10) Queue times,Colossus said 40 mins (but was over an hour)Nemesis Inferno 60 minsSaw The Ride 80 mins (although we got on in 60 minutes with an almost full queue)Stealth ranged from 60- 80 minsVortex 40 minutesLoggers Leap 30 - 45 minutesRumba Rapids 30 - 40 minutesX No way out 20 minutes (only saw this early on in day)Samurai 45 minutes (20 minutes after 4:30 - 5ish)Rush 30 minutesSlammer 30 minutesZodiac 20 minutesQuantum 10 - 25 minutesDetonator said 50 minutes I think but a friend got on in 20 minutesDepth Charge 30 minutes (looked longer)etcHope some of that helps.

Interestingly I was on park all day and only managed to see Rush and Saw break down. I guess I went to the right rides at the right times. Both seemed to be back up and running quite fast though (not saying it is acceptable). Teacups was also closed around 4pm but there seemed to be a guy cleaning so maybe someone was sick. The park was very busy and I 100% agree with you about the fastrack, especially outside Colossus they were trying to grab you to sell them. The queues moved ridiculously slow and my group that foolishly bought fasttrack for Colossus still queued 20 minutes. Nemesis Inferno's queue was moving extremely slowly as so many had fasttrack (and staff were very slow at times loading the trains. Saw many people queue jumping as well with not much being done, just the odd announcement here and there.Atmosphere wasn't the best today either with Music for most rides quite low. BTW has Colossus been playing Queueline theme in the station all season??? But was nice to see some effects fixed such as the mist on Nemesis Inferno, the Colossus fountain etc. Nearly walked into a wall in the dome toilets as they have moved the door!!!Had first go on Saw Alive today and didn't think it was that great, wouldn't bother again unless others that haven't been on it really want to go on it.Ride Count:X:\\ No Way Out x1Rush x1Quantum x1Nemesis Inferno x1Saw Alive x1Saw: The Ride x1Loggers Leap x1Colossus x1Samurai x1Rumba Rapids x1Quantum seemed faster for some reason, have the settings been changed?Quite disappointing at just 10 rides when I was there all day.

Nope, I don't like the idea of this. It is not a fairground, it is a Theme Park. I would want the normal theme music back, or at least play it on the bridge.

I'm glad someone mentioned the pain in the feet because I often get it if I get up too quickly and none of my friends understand what I am going on about!
