  1. Well without sounding rude or anything but one of the main objectives of the park is to increase guest numbers throughout the week rather than on a weekend! It would be ludicrous to go to 'the nations thrill capital' and not expect their to be any queues. As previously said, if the ride is busy enough the second train will be brought out. However 9 times out of 10 as soon as the second train comes out of the shed the queues becomes non-existent and then you have struggled to fill the seats when maintenance can be carried out.

There are 4 (I think) industrial sized ventilation fans above the ramped part of the queue lines. EDIT Ignoring the rubbing paint stuff (I found this on google). The left 2 Ventiliation chambers are over The Passing and the straigh coridor by the flashing robot the Right 2 are over the entrance ramps and the baggage hall.
  3. Really, this is all be coming quite out of hand. On the quieter days throughout the season, the engineers decide to take trains into a maintenance season.. for example on Stealth it would be, Monday - Train 1 Tuesday - Train 2 Wednesday - Train 1 and so forth, this helps them ensure that the trains will be in tip top condition for the peak days I.E Friday, Saturday, Sunday so both trains have equal maintenance Monday to Thursday. Colossus, unfortunately has suffered some severe issues in the train and (to my knowledge, regularly working on the ride) was not caused by a mobile phone. However the severity did mean the train could not be operable for the remainder of the season. The park did not have the ride on 1 train to annoy people, the last thing the park would want would be to make people queue 3 hours over Fright Nights for Colossus. This goes for any day throughout the season, if the ride needs the second train then the relevant procedures will be commenced (unless of course the train is having work done). If the park feel it is not necessary for the ride to have a second train then they will not. Like previously said if the park has a high gate figure and the queue is excessive the engineering department will work on getting a second train onto the circuit. On Monday, the last day of season second trains were really not that necessary in my opinion, by 3pm Colossus was going around half empty Stealth had nobody in the queue and it was probably the same for SAW - The Ride, Nemesis Inferno and The Swarm. The same go for X:/ No Way Out, it has been running 3 trains for quite some time now whilst the other trains have returned to Vekoma for special maintenance. The ride can cope on 3 trains in the quieter days but in the given season if necessary and with the possibility to do so, the fourth train would of been brought out. Can I take this opportunity to say that rides being on lower capacity has nothing to do with Fastrack. Probably should take this over to Closed Rides or an appropriate topic.

The only reason is for emergency evacuation procedures. In the event of a fire 100 people is easier to evacuate out the building as opposed to a full queue line.

You can have 100 people inside the building , no H&S law states no one can queue inside.
  6. The Ocean Kingdom winged coaster has been topped off with drop completed also
  7. I completely agree with Marc, the more you pay the better the service. Whilst the situations vary greatly the principle is still the same, and whilst the outcome differs depending on the service it all applies in the same way. Those who pay more get more, simple. Going back to the amazon situation, the principle is the exact same! You pay the standard: 1. Amazon - normal delivery rate 2. Thorpe Park entry - normal queue times That comes as a standard or you pay a premium rate: 1. Amazon - faster delivery rate, usually next day delivery 2. Thorpe Park entry + fastrack - faster/speedier queueing rate. All in all the more you pay the speedier the result. Same with transport, you pay more for a high speed train and get there in half the time or less or you pay standard which obviously is lengthier travel. In regards to 'over selling', they have a dedicated amount of tickets for each 30 minute slot from 11am to one hour before park close. What may visually seem like overselling is usually the result of people not following their allocated slot. What you will find is a very large percentage of the guests purchasing fastrack do not follow the time slot given to them ( even though they choose the slot themselves!) and as a result they clash with other time slots. As a result the fastrack queue is double the length it should be if people followed the slots.

There are a certain amount of tickets sold for each 15 minute slot and as the vast majority of people do not turn up at the allocated time slots it does mean that later in the evening the queue can become very lengthy. As it is, the throughput for the maze is fairly low and it must be reiterated that it not a fastrack ticket it is only the time slot you enter the queue. This does not guarantee you immediate access to the attraction and there may be additional waiting times at peak hours.

At least the kids would be more secure, must be worrying for parents especially when you go over the top of the lift and drop violently!

    I have found said song
  13. On a side note, If an actor feels threatened in any situation they have an E-Stop, this will be pushed with Security being called within the minute. As is the same on any Ride & Attraction at the park, if the situation feels heated they would call for security to attend. The park is safe, I don't know WHY any of you would think any different.

Colossus reopened today after the planned essential maintenance.
  23. As long as you hit swarm first you'll be okay, advisory to hit stealth afterwards as that gets pretty busy from 10:30 onward then head over to Colossus (if open) and SAW - The Ride.

Depends on the height of the ride, I believe they aren't allowed a structure that exceeds 25 meters, would be fun though!
