  1. So either The Curse, Se7en, The Asylum or Experiment 10 are going to be shoehorned into the 2nd storey of a listed building? This is why the whole Chinese whispers of rumours and such don't work.
  2. Chainsaws are a staple of horror mazes. The fact that Towers hasn't already used them is more surprising. Also the Asylum moving to Towers makes no sense when they have the strobe finale in Terror of the Towers.

Wait, wait, wait. I've just read this back and since when was making music about looking good? Hell, many artists' USPs are acting nerdy or weird. I'm sorry but crowds 'bounce' because they are enjoying themselves.
  4. Well it depends if the fast track limits reflect the current lower capacity or not. It has a compounding effect as more people are going to buy them because they are artificially inflating queue times. Well Saw wasn't much better in its opening year. Capacity and effects were both big problems. Swarm seemed to have a more promising start in terms of capacity. Whether the 'the effects just need to be signed off' statement is true after however many months of it being used is another matter. It's a pity because the ride seemed to mark a change for the park at the start of the year so hopefully this is just a blip, albeit at an unfortunate time of year.
  5. Said she owed me a drink and I think I'll hold her to it.
  6. It is slightly frustrating that fast track sales benefit from a ride running in an inferior state.
  7. Everyone looks so beautiful after going upside down over 100 times.
  8. Thank you TPM and Thorpe Park for the event! Walking up the lift hill was a very odd but awesome experience and the staff who ran the event were great. Also added birthday cake after a ridiculous amount of rerides on Colossus. Only downside of the day was The Swarm playing up and running one train but the rest of the park was pretty quiet considering school trips have started. It was nice to meet new people and catch up with people I hadn't seen for a while.
  9. Universities, A2 Level and GCSE students have finished along with school trips. It will be better than later in July but still expect it to be busy.
  10. I'm not sure my car can handle long journeys at the moment so I'm going to have to be a maybe.

http://youtu.be/3asWCtRWrek He has changed so much since I saw him last.
  12. The amount of effort that has gone into remodelling DCA over the last few years is crazy. The changes really do address the complaints that the park wasn't very 'Disney'.
  13. Splashdown is hilarious. Nearly all the slides are lovably stupid. The 'rapids' normally results in getting stuck in at least one of the slides and flipped over into a whirlpool where you have to attempt to get back into you ring. The really slow enclosed slides are horrible though due to their tiny diameter.
  14. This is really silly. The situation will be similar to when 13 fails to open for opening. You just see a mass of guests standing outside the entrance suddenly swarm up the Rita queue creating a massive wait time. If they had to open certain rides later, wouldn't X Sector as a whole be more logical? Oblivion has ridiculous throughput and the flats aren't popular in the first hour.

Meh, Muse have self-produced the last 2 albums I believe. It will probably just be a break down for one heavy song. I have more issues with Guiding Light and Undisclosed Desires being staples for sets.

It's probably just to 'scare' the fans or give them something to moan about.

Musestep? Hopefully better than The Resistance anyway.
  18. Your dedication to X is truly admirable. I salute you.
  19. It could just be for the trailer to make it marketable. It could also be Luhrmann trying to state that the messages sent in the material transcend time. Yes I believe that is her at 0:30 and 2:06. She is only shown briefly and her name is not mentioned. She is just a dirty secret, hidden from high society in this context. It could be replacing all of his monologues which would be nice twist as he could be seen as just as bad as the other characters in a much more obvious sense. He could very well be but I just see Nick as forgiving him due to his idealisation. Gatsby idealises and and creates a different Daisy and I see Nick doing the same to Gatsby. The strength in this novel for me is that it can so easily manipulate the reader to believing that there is only one angle to the story. There is an interview where Fitzgerald states that Nick does indeed always tell the truth but I think he is toying with the readers.
  20. I feel like this is going to end up in an English Lit discussion, which is not a bad thing considering the material Considering it is Luhrmann, I would not be surprised if the music is juxtaposed with the time period. Maguire is my biggest worry too but the narration of the book by Nick, particularly his idealisation of Gatsby and disrespect of Jordan makes me see him as immature and whiny. The narrative is just so ambiguous that almost any interpretation of any character Nick talks about is valid, due to the absence of facts. I think Myrtle and George are hidden to reflect how the 'secret society' shuns and ignores those below them. Yeah, lines are going to be interesting. I only recognised 'Old Sport' I think. Romeo + Juliet mixed original script with modern setting but then again, that is Shakespeare. If I enjoy a film which is different to the original then fair enough. I think 2 hours of listening to Nick's internal monologue would be hell. I don't see Gatsby as polite, just Nick's portrayal of him.
  21. Let's see what Luhrmann does with the material. I'm not sure why people are complaining about how hedonistic the trailer is, since that's an integral part of the novel.
  22. It's so dull. There are so many better options. They could even put a poll up on the Facebook page with public suggestions allowed as well.
  23. Not really sure why there is surprise about these tunnels. The park doesn't have any heavily themed rides (Italian Job was stripped I believe) and the park is owned by Cedar Fair. The 'scream tubes' are par for the course. Sure they could add themeing but the park has ridiculous attendance already and now the world's only B&M giga. I doubt they feel much need.
  24. Fair point, but have you been in the refitted Jack the Ripper pub scene? Try closing the door in a big group. The current site is really struggling with the capacity required. Also, the 'charm' can easily be recreated. Hopefully this means a better queueing system for getting in and a better tour. The current tour really has some outdated scenery and shows. The newer dungeons around the country have been getting very positive reviews.
