The shoulder restraints aren't the problem for me on Slammer. I just find the seats very uncomfortable, even when the overhead restraints aren't touching my shoulders.

I love the way the floor folds away when the train is dispatched!
  3. I think it's a bit cruddy how they just put the pre-recorded video at the start, and then literally just tag on the footage of your ride. You would think that if you are paying £14 for a DVD, they would make an interesting mix of pre-recorded footage and on-ride footage, rather than just adding the video on to the end.

It obviously is their fault because they designed them . To be honest, I don't find any wrong with Rush's seats, but I am so uncomfortable when riding Slammer. The hard seats really hurt my back, and this means I usually can't enjoy the ride.

I'm sure I heard "Bobby's Girl - Susan Maughan" yesturday outside Tidal Wave. Maybe it was something similar.
  6. I wouldn't say the queues on Monday were massive. Especially seeing as it was a Bank Holiday.
  7. Generally, Chessington is not as badly affected as Thorpe Park is by the weather. (This is understandable as Thorpe Park has many more thrill and larger rides). I think rides such as Dragon's Fury and Vampire are affected the same as Colossus and Nemesis are for example. Usually, if it is just spitting, most if not all of the attractions will remain open. If it is torrential rain however, it is more than likely that more attractions will close for the duration of the severe weather. But then again, Chessington has Tomb Blaster, Bubbleworks etc which are indoors, therefore won't be affected by the rain. And many of the rides that are not very tall won't get affected by weather very easily. I know that in the past on my visits Ramases Revenge has experienced some difficulty operating in the rain, as did Samurai before it was moved.Hope this helps .

No, it definitely couldn't fall back down the hill. The anti-rollback catches would always prevent this from happening. If there have been any injuries on the lift hill or the drop, it would only be due to the fault of the riders themselves, I.e.: standing up or doing other things they have been told not to such as trailing their hands in the water.

I've got it as by Chubby Checker.

I was queuing behind the gates, and the train before we were due to ride experienced a rollback.
  11. I know how you feel. It's just over 4 hours from where I live. I haven't been for 6 years, but I think we're going in the Summer .

That, I'm afraid is an impossible question to answer.

It's irritating watching the people who were standing next to you in the original queue riding the ride almost instantly while you are still waiting in the Front Row queue.
  14. If you're considering changing your thursday trip because of queue-times, I wouldn't worry because Thorpe Park and Chessington queue times haven't got a huge difference between them this week.
  15. Paul replied to Dan_Rush's topic in General Discussion
The queue for the front is usually incredibly long, but it's completely worth the wait when you ride.

The cattle pen has been full up on all of the visits I can remember!
  18. I would love to visit this half-term, but I have had my fun at Thorpe today, and I really need to get on with some revision now. I'm thinking of visiting Chessington once if not twice during the Summer though. If anyone wants to meet up during the summer and go to Chessington, please feel free to contact me .

The Logger's Leap operation and technical teams were working efficiently today. Logger's Leap opened around 11am, and suffering another technical problem later in the afternoon about 3ish, the technical team were quickly at hand to rectify the problem, and have the ride running like clockwork again by 4.30pm.
  20. Why wait? If I were you I would visit this week; The queues will probably be a reasonable length, and Thorpe Park really seem to be on their game at the moment.

To be honest, before my visit today, I was starting to go off of Thorpe Park. I had been let down so many times in the past with ride reliability, and so many other things, that I was getting a bit tired of going there. But I'm glad to say that today's visit completely turned that around. I was so impressed with the overall service provided, and I had such a fantastic day out. It just shows you, that even if the park is busy, when Thorpe Park get it right, you can have such a fantastic day.

For the first time when I have ridden, the pendulum blades were in operation today . In fact, all of the effects were.
  23. Paul replied to Artie's topic in The Past
Yes. Logger's did break down again for around 30 minutes at around 3ish, but this was soon rectified.

I managed two. One at the front . After about 11am it was being run with 2 trains, which completely demolished the queue .
  25. Just got back from today, which was absolutely fantastic!Trip ReportGood PointsAfter 11am, all rides were available. (Logger's Leap was unavailable until then). The queues remained relatively short for a school holiday. Many park / ride effects were working well, which added to the atmosphere. (The mist and lights on Nemesis Inferno, the swinging pendulum blades on SAW were in operation etc.). All staff members were friendly and helpful throughout the day. The rides were being run exceptionally well throughout the day. Bad PointsI've got to say, for the first time ever visiting Thorpe Park, I don't have any criticisms about my day!Ride CountSAW: The Ride - 1Stealth: 2Colossus: 1Nemesis Inferno: 1Slammer: 3Samurai: 3Rush: 3Tidal Wave: 1Logger's Leap: 1Rumba Rapids: 1Time Voyagers: 1Average Queue TimesSAW: The Ride: 1 hour 45 minsColossus: 1 hour 30 minutesNemesis Inferno: 1 hour 10 minsStealth: 1 hourSlammer: 20 minsRush: 15 minsSamurai: 20 minsDetonator: 20 minsOther Flats: Approx 20-40 minsOther Water Rides: Approx 30-60 minsI would just like to mention Alexandra and Ricky operating Slammer, as they were exceptionally friendly and helpful in the queue-line. But generally, all of the staff at the park today were incredibly friendly, and helped create a fantastic day out! Thank you :)A great day, must be one of my best at Thorpe Park.
