    Slammer

I have come to notice several times recently that the "Rides Currently Unavailable" section of the Thorpe Park website can be very unreliable.
  2. I wouldn't queue over 1 hour for anything. The coaster I would queue longest for is Stealth or Colossus, and the flat I would queue longest for is Slammer.
  3. They have gone. All of the "Ribena" theming was removed along with the ending of the sponsership in 2008.

    Oblivion

I really need to go to Alton Towers again, I am yet to ride Oblivion, Air, Rita, Spinball, etc.I really can't wait much longer!
  5. That's fair enough, but I'm just interested in a Saturday job, and holiday work. Therefore, I could apply next year.
  6. I know it seems a long way off, but it could be less than a year away, and if there are no plausable methods of transport, then there's not really any point in considering filling in an application. I am going to start looking into it soon.Does anyone know of an email address that I can contact, if I just have an enquiry about applying for a job? (I don't want to actually apply for a role, just ask a question).
  7. Thanks for the advice! I suppose that there arn't any other cheaper methods of transport?
  8. I wouldn't be able to work until next season, because I am only 15 now, and my birthday is in October. Do you think it's worth showing my interest now, and getting in with a chance nice and early?
  9. Well the thing is, I work as a mobile DJ in the evenings, which I also enjoy and is very local. I am very busy at the moment, and am probably earning more than I would be at any other part-time job. So earning an extra £10 a week, AND getting to work at Thorpe! I really wouldn't mind working all day for £10.
  10. I live in Kent, and it takes me about 90 minutes by car to get to Thorpe Park. I would love to try and get a Saturday job next year. Does anyone know what the general working hours are? Or are they very flexible? And do many people work for full days, because I would be happy to do that and it would make my life a lot easier if I could stay for the entire day. (Hence actually making the 90 minute car journey there and back worthwhile). Also, it would cost around £30 for a return train ticket to Thorpe Park from Sittingbourne, so if I was to be making around £5.80 per hour and worked for a whole day, I would probably make about £40. This leaves me with £10 profit, which doesn’t seem much, but I would be happy with it, seeing as I already have a pretty regular part-time job that is very well paid. I don’t really want to work at Thorpe Park for the money. I would love to work there simply for the experience, seeing as I have never worked in anything similar before.

    Television

I love Outnumbered! It's so cleverly written, and the child actors are some of the best I've seen.

    Slammer

It just really irritates me that Slammer is such a fantastic ride, but it's reliability is so poor. I agree with you, that no I wouldn't be too bothered if it went, although it does offer such a fantastic experience. Just a shame it's never bloomin' open!

    Slammer

There's a surprise!I am getting absolutely sick of Slammer's poor reliability. Every time it becomes available again, it's just a case of counting the days until it's unavailable again; which I can do with one hand. I would be far happier if Thorpe Park just ripped it down and replaced it with anything else. It could be a carousel for all I care, just anything more reliable.

    Eclipse

Seeing as Thorpe Park is around a 30 minute drive from Chessington, I would guess no.
  15. And has been since 5.30 yesturday.
  16. I have no idea about SAW, but Slammer is just.... well Slammer.
  17. The cheapest way to get into the park is Bounceback, which offer outstanding value in my opinion. (If you don't have an annual pass). Or, if it's your first visit of the season, use a 2 for 1 voucher on the day. They save so much money and can be found floating around all over the place.Booking online with Thorpe Park is such a waste of money. But then again, if there is any chance that the park may reach full capacity, that is the only way to go. (Unless you've got a bounceback ).
  18. I know what you mean, it's just little things like that, that could easily be improved. I have never got a queueline over 9 minutes, and that was for my recreation of Stealth .And while I'm on the subject, another thing I don't like is how the restraints just close when everyone is sat in their seats, and no one checks them. Also, I don't like how the control booth is the same place as where the tickets are sold. I would create a realistc control cabin, and have members of the ride team to check the bars.

Thanks :oI think that if they painted the fences red/black, then they should have changed the colour of the main body as well.
  20. This is a very long way off, but I am posting well in advance to see how much interest is generated. I am thinking of organising a trip to Disneyland Paris in a couple of years time, probably late 2011. The trip will be open to anyone from the forums, and will include the following:- Eurostar travel from Ashford International to Paris. - 2 Nights in a 4* Disney hotel. - 3 Days unlimited access to both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park. - Breakfast included with the hotel. If there is enough interest for this trip, I will post some more detailed information about it in the future. Just as a guide, the trip as mentioned above will probably cost around £250.00 each. (+ any spending money for meals etc.)Obviously, at this stage I am only gathering interest, and have no intentions of booking until late next year. If you are at all interested, please post below. Thanks .

Did the inner corners of the pods used to be silver? And as far as the fence re-paint is concerned, I much preferred the light blue to be honest.
  22. I wouldn't queue over 1 hour for anything, and that would only be for a thrill ride such as Stealth or SAW. But if it is during the busy period, and you don't want to spend any extra money on fastrack, then you don't really have a choice.
  23. The TP website suggests that riders with a chest size of 52" or larger should try the test seat before boarding. Saying this, my friend has a 52" chest, and he has absolutely no problems with getting on any of the rides. And Stealth has very similar restraints as Furious Baco, so you will definitely be fine on that one if it was no problem as Port Aventura.
  24. I agree, and also, when it is working, the mist on Nemesis Inferno is a unique sensation to the park, and I think it should stay that way.
