@MattyMoo I get visions that Ghost Train will open on the 23rd of March. I predict the ride will be a total failure and the least popular ride at Thorpe. I think Ghost Train will have a Network Rail sponsorship attached. Finally I sense unlike Alton Manor Ghost Train will not last long. My instincts tell me that Ghost Train will be totally removed for the 2025/6 season. Whereas I expect Alton Manor at Alton Towers will last 30 years.
 
I don’t have any insider knowledge yet I think Ghost Train is opening as a filler attraction. Basically so Thorpe Park can advertise a new ride and retain interest from visitors. 
 
On a slightly different subject I wouldn’t be surprised if the props from the gift shop make the journey to Staffordshire. To be precise I think these props will be located in Spooks’R Us or whatever the Alton Manor gift shop will be called.

What would you like us to speculate about? The comedy duck from The Flume being included here because all manors have ducks? Maybe they could include the giant blueberry girl from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. All manors have blueberry bushes.

I mean, it's as if they had no idea what to do with it and it took them most of closed season to figure out....

Eventually the effects will be turned off due to budget/maintenance issues.

I mean, she had such a huge impact in Haunted House and Duel. Pivotal almost.

I really hope so. I also understand wanting some level of secrecy with the plans for the ride, but we have literally zero knowledge of what the new storyline is going to be inside that building, other than that it is set in a modern-ish train station between 1970 and 1990. We've had press releases and information about what there is to expect for The Curse at Alton Manor... but absolutely nothing for Ghost Train. This alone worries me massively.

This. What an absolute waste if that is the case. I can't see how they will fit it in to the story otherwise, other than like I say, some sort of pre show with an actor along the lines of "We've had some strange reports in the station, people have been saying that an old floating Victorian train has been pulling up - I for one don't believe 'em me old cockney sparra knees up mother brown, oi oi, be lucky - and keep the secrets bruv!"
 
One would assume they will paint the whole building and over the "Rail depot" sign.
 
The building itself along with the train carriage, as previously said, has always been the most positive thing about the experience so if they manage to mess that up, that will be quite some achievement.

EDIT: As an afterthought - would it be possible to just remove the hanging carriage in entirety as it's just a shell, so you step onto a tube train from the off? I guess it would? Again though - what a waste 😰
