  1. There were a LOT of issues with the seatbelts as quite often they were either twisted up so couldn't come out of the holster or just wouldn't come out at all, so unresponsive and completely the opposite design style of car seatbelts, which I think is one of the issues, as people just try pulling them out when they need to half the time actually start from the base... Poor design indeed... Be interesting if they fit lapbars instead, although this would be problematic with small children (assuming it's a row-long one, individual bars would actually allow little ones to ride though, so that would actually be a must)... Just such a shame Chessie made a load of simple design errors with this ride, ranging from high fences so you can't see anything, to the addition of a squeezed in Pre-Show which doesn't do anything worthwhile, and the less said about the Platform the better...
  2. Not if you're one of the last people batched in... It's a very poorly laid out situation... And of course, there's the issue if you skip the pre-show, others follow, then all of a sudden you have a packed out queue to the loading platform... So... badly... done...
  3. Think the issue was that the various issues weren't considered as such until about a week before actual opening, hence the sudden amount of work being done... Things change in industries quite suddenly at times, especially when it comes to H&S legislation...

I agree, I've always though HIV to be one of the most under-rated coasters in the world... I blame TPR...

That's like saying having Chlamydia is better than having HIV...
  7. Woodland Walk is Towers Hotels only, and is pointless since it opens at 10am these days... Gonna have to go to main entrance like everyone else...

New components in friction based noise (screeching because they are predominantly rubber) shocker! After Tonnerre de Zeus last year, that's nothing...

Dat pacing is... Wut? Little bit of head-bashing, but most rides have that to some degree going through inversions, such are the laws of physics... If that's the pace of the ride though, onto a winner...

So not all children who watch Newsround are over 1.4m and will then pester their parents to watch said show (IPlayer ftw) and then go to the park? Indeed, isn't Newsround later on in the day when most families are partly at home? Like, gone 5? If parent picks kid up from school they're bound to be at least AROUND to see it... Actually quite sensible at aiming towards the higher age range of kids... Who have the pushing power to the parents...
  11. Cookie Cutter is more towards the rather atypical layouts you see in America... Whilst the WingRider is a new type, this doesn't really do anything new... Yes the entrance thing is nice, but at the same time, they could've done more to it instead of two plain thin towers... It's so typically bland of Cedar Fair to create a good idea but put zero effort into it... Shame really...

World's first coaster being opened up, Thirteen got one, Oblivion got one, Air probably got one too...
  13. The film's depressing enough without need for this...
  14. >Not constantly in your face >First thing you see upon entering the park It's also one of the most over-rated parks ever, but as Mark said, aside from Millenium Force and Dragster, there's nothing else that is really big and brash (or anything bar the usual America style)... 2 rides out of... 15 odd now? Raptor, Mantis, Magnum are all big rides but show something more substanial than that, Gatekeeper fits into this category of big rides, but does that mean there should be more effort that two giant pieces of bare concrete (something Smiler gets hate for interestingly)... Maverick is spectacular to watch (and to some degree ride, but then Intamin restraints </3) as well, but I just like my rides to have more substance than the EXTREME cookie cutter experience you get at Cedar Fair parks... At least Six Flags theme some of their rides (N.B. this only applies to DC rides)...
  15. Is the right answer... Fits Cedar Point to a tee... Cookie cutter coasters that could be located at any park in the world...

Theme is announced... So far looks like a decent investment for the park too... Although the posted concept art is a bit... Wrong

To be fair, they don't even need to show images of the ride testing, it's imposing enough as it is...

  19. In the States you can see up to (and sometimes over) $20 to park your car... Indeed, for a long long time, the UK was the exception to the industry in regards to paying for parking, we Brits over the years have been extrememly lucky in the sense of being reasonably different from the foreign parks, including longer seasons and free parking... Until people stop going though, this charge will still happen, like most expenses anywhere leisure based... The business world for you...

I'll be at Djurs Sommerland that day, riding Juvelen and Piraten... Denmark > Smiler confirmed...
  21. Not difficult mind... Literally though, they need to do regular (not yearly, that's silly, but every 2/3 years) repaints on EVERYTHING... Flat rides, shops, restaurants, theming and coasters... If they can do that (goes for the other parks as well), then we can say things are better... Presentation goes the longest way in a guest's perception...
