The Big Bad Movie Topic
Welcome to Hollywood, where if it makes any semblance of money, we'll beat the cash out of the franchises cow long after it's died!Oh, and we're revisiting the 80s, isn't it EXCITING?!

Also from IAAPA. A new kind of GCI. 65ft tall and compact, sounds a suitable candidate for Drayton or Flamingoland

Avatar? Dunno why that would affect family films like Percy Jackson tbh.Percy Jackson was a good attempt, especially from the point of view of someone who hadn't read the books, but I'm not sure how it did in the cinema overall. Guessing by the names and effects it had in it, it may not have made anywhere near as enough money as hoped. Could be wrong though. But judging by the lack of sequel or franchising, can't be far wrong

Alton Towers General Discussion
Apparently, they HAVE moved, but still own the Alton residence... So I dunno what they want anymore...

I always kinda wished they had done a film adaptation of Artemis Fowl tbh, had enough scope (especially with the sequels) to become something. Then again, it would have been up against Potter. So would never had made big bucks. Now Potter is over, I sense we'll see a few more of these kind of films as the studios might feel more 'unthreatened' by the global cashcow that was the Potter franchise.Especially as well, that Twilight is nearing the end (THANK GOD).

Alton Towers General Discussion
THEY'RE BAAAAAAAACKhttp://www.thisisstaffordshire.co.uk/Neighbours-new-bid-shut-Alton-Towers-noise/story-13862852-detail/story.html Just... Why? Waste your own money on attempting to cause problems for the biggest source of income in the local area?I thought they'd moved as well after the last case, but evidently they're back to try and spite everyone (and probably fail once more)...

Europa Park
Whilst a shame that Europa and it's general history of dark rides is using an IP, be interesting to see how they do it.I.e. They'll actually do it justice and THEN some.

Television
Are we REALLY that surprised?Wouldn't be shocked if Buzzcocks and HIGNFY followed tbh, all past their prime in several senses (Mainly as Shooting Stars came back and... well, wasn't anywhere near as good as the original, which really wasn't THAT great in the first place)...What IS actually on TV these days? This is what happens when you have dire reception and can't recieve any channels

Parks, Rides And Coaster News
Hmmm, those new Green Lantern trains are very Eurofighter. However, lap bar only is VERY interesting, especially for rides like the El Loco, where even more freedom could provide a completely different experience.

Disney or Universal
Universal Hollywood is a bit... lacking though really... It's Revenge of the Mummy is crap in comparison to Florida's, and the Backstage Tour isn't THAT great tbh, especially some of the scenes are just, made of why...Aside from the Mummy, the only other major rides are Jurassic Park... And the usual simulators/cinemas (Simpsons and Terminator)... So they're getting Transformers next year (or whenever it's opening, not sure), but it just seems to lack everything Florida's has...Can't give a good report on Disneyland either... Time constraints on that trip required both parks to be done in a day, meaning selective riding was a must... However, I will say that Magic Kingdom was probably the worst one I've been to out the 3 (Paris and Florida), the lack of room on pathways is a big giveaway to the time that it was constructed, and having been brought up on Paris', I just thought many rides just didn't fit into the park well, such as Matterhorn or the Submarines... Of course, I do need to go back, but that's a long way away, especially with California Adventure's work being done (which I liked btw, didn't mention it, but I thought CA was quite a decent park before all the construction, if tacky, but the new stuff should really make it look proper Disney)...

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
Of course, keep our feet on the ground here, there are plenty of rides that look good and ride awful. Granted none of them are B&Ms, but you get my drift ;)Now the only thing Thorpe need to do to make the on-park marketing complete is by making the opening an event, rather than the crap we've had before in that it just opens. No pomp, no circumstance, just, an opening... If Thorpe can make as big a deal out of this opening with everything else so far, the marketing team should be promoted to Kings of Merlin Marketing, and in control of the entire company's campaigns.
