It's way too hard to predict how much wear and tear will occur to part of an attraction... It obviously passed the start of year checks, but it couldn't be predicted that it would then later become unsafe...It's exactly like any other breakdown...Closing the area wouldn't make much difference, and indeed would cause mass issues with routes to Katanga, and based on seeing how annoying it was for everyone with the Spinball/Oblivion pathway shut the other day, it's not a good idea...And come on, why did the ride have downtime the other times? Oh yeah, it caught fire... Not exactly unreliable mechanically is it?
