  1. The worst off in these situations is the driver... Can only imagine how it must feel for someone to have a person leap in front of them and they can't do anything to prevent it from happening...And the ripple effect is much larger (as Mark said) in comparison to hanging oneself... It's very murky waters here we be treading...
  2. You are James Adams and I claim my five pounds! -_-I can see a serious discussion coming up from this... And quite frankly it is relatively a good point as to why trains are used as such a popular suicide medium, how many deaths per year are caused by this? Suicide is of course something few of us can understand, but really, a train cannot truly be the best way to cure the pain and suffering?
  3. 8? More like 18 dear -_-Bout bloody time too... Buccaneer since the rules changed has turned from a must ride to a not bothered since the queue is silly...
  4. Surely if the email system is broken an alternative should be in place to ensure that this doesn't happen? It's AWFUL when you don't get a reply from a job you've applied for... He's not being selfish, he's looking out for himself with some actual initiative...

  6. 1) Not sure on this...2) Probably yes, and defo yes3) Probably4) Londis
  7. ^That was 6/7 years ago... Totally different to now when DCI were going with a more quick low invesment for high gain approach...And the park is worse cos of it...
  8. In regards to the voting thing, it's the most recent ride, so of course will sit high in the marketing as it really is the most recent thing in many guest's minds... Regardless of whether or not what enthusiasts think, it is a very popular and well-received ride and will no doubt get a fair amount of votes...And there's no chance of filler years involving coasters until they are essentially a Beastie replacement... Next year SHOULD provide something of substance (bugger knows though) and 2013 has essentially be confirmed now...
  9. ^But what's the sense in replacing a family coaster (ok, Corkscrew was originally the biggest ride ever, but in the guest's eyes it was a family "first looping" coaster when it shut) with a thrill coaster? Especially when your target market is indeed families? It did the job it was designed, but not marketed, to do in my opinion... I went on it with absolutely no expectation of how exciting/thrilling it would be, and came off amused, as did many of the general public who were part of the ride's target market (I.e. NOT teens, but families)... Plus it comes away with the bonus of having a bloody good throughput, meaning that even a full queue isn't even much of a chore in comparison to say Air or Rita... It's a shame it's trimmed because if it wasn't it would be a lot more enjoyable (though you do get a fair bit of airtime this year in comparison)...Of course, other enthusiasts came off being idiots because they hyped it up to such a degree that it would never live up to it...
  10. £15 million is hard to base on what they actually spent it on, since Merlin place every aspect from the design, landscaping, ride and marketing into the total price...Indeed, Oblivion cost £12 million, yet half of that was literally landscaping and nothing else as a comparison...Plus what with rising costs and it being a prototype as well (ok, 3 million more than Air, but this is where the rising costs comes into play) it does actually add up and semi make sense why it cost that much...Just a shame they made it into something it was never going to be really, cos Thirteen is a good enough ride... And I can imagine that someone like Disney or Universal can take this concept to literally the next level, especially with how good the throughput can be...
  11. The day that a ride needs to say that "This ride contains scenes of graphic sexual animatronic displays" cannot come too soon...And all I can see is him on Soarin... Lol...
  12. If there's a god, Rita will come last... But it won't, since the GP think it's the pup's nuts...It's funny how a failed marketing scheme really narrows views of a ride...
  13. Meanwhile, back in serious land... THAT turn after the non-inverting loop
  14. Thing is now, Nemesis will win, since you can vote once an hour and I can only see the enthusiasts constantly voting every hour...And since 99% of said enthusiasts will put Nemesis... It's ruined the excitement -_-However, I did apply for that 2013 helper thing... Woo...
  15. Since SOME people want my post to be less like Thirteen and more like Nemesis -_-Nemesis was my first inverting coaster and arguably first truly MAJOR ride, so for me, ride-wise it's the way it just doesn't seem to let up and keeps going until the brakes, even the stall turns are an important part of the ride in order to give those small moments of calm before the next kick in the balls, rides that are just constant intensity aren't fun, that balance was really done well by John Wardley and B&M...Elsewhere, the atmosphere and interactivity are very well done, I love the music which just compliments the ride nicely and of course the B&M roar also makes such a perfect combination of things...
  16. Interested to hear in much more detail what you thought/did at the park...
  17. Nemesis wins...[/end thread]
  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1Mp6jl5i7A TV ads with TOM BAKER <3<3<3<3Oh yeah, vote Nemesis
  19. Nope... You're confusing that with the continent plans...The park plans to join up several areas together in order to create continents, so Translyvania would come under the Europe area with Market Square, Land of the Dragons and Pirates Cove...

  21. American theme?Have they moved the Translyvanian region from Eastern Europe then?
  22. They usually reply regardless of whether or not you have the interview... If you don't get a reply, pester them... It's only Monday and HR don't work weekends...
  23. Fire regulations say we should cramp everyone into one small area rather than keep it empty? Colour me confused dot com...If done CORRECTLY, Vampire can excessively benefit from row batching, just need to get the staff trained up to a decent level, which is what also should be happening to even the most average of staff... If they're average, why is this? The trainers are as much at fault for poor platformers as the people are themselves...
  24. I do hope you mean Forbidden Valleys B&Ms, otherwise someone needs to look behind the sofa for a missing coaster...
