First one of the season to report on Chessie as well as Towers? Why thankyou...Ok, it was only a zoo day, but I was down for the weekend with an empty Sunday ahead so me and peep (John) scurried over to Chessie to see how things were going on...Firstly, John missed his train from Waterloo so we ended up waiting for the 10:00 one from Clapham, so arrived around 10:30, and headed straight into Trail of the Kings...Was a very good day for the animals, as they were all very active, which makes a big change from the normal season, hopefully that'll keep happening, but there's the addition of a new radio in the gorilla area which sounds like it was stolen from Lego's Laser Raiders... Plus a new video in the Tiger area filmed by staff which is... Meh... Staff cannot act at theme parks... Duel, NWO and now this tell us that for certain...Sea-Lions have a new platform... Assuming it's for the staff during the shows...Creepy Caves still seems so out of place... Half of it is still shut but it does look like it's had some work done over the closed season... Not sure what to say about it...Buccaneer looks VERY shiny and new... I can't wait to see it up close in a few weeks...No Top Trumps in the shop yet Remedy this for opening please...Market Square toilets haven't changed at all... Dunno what the rest of the park is meant to be doing with the loos, but... I hope they have actually done something...The new Sales building looks cool, shame Truckers is going to suffer immensely from it and the addition of Fast-track... Sigh...Children's Zoo is... still meh... Even with Afro-Chickens, Ferrets, Gangser Ducks and CHARLIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE... They have Red Squirrels apparently now, but couldn't see them...Runaway's Fast-track looks like it'll be essentially where it was originally, joining up to the boiler... Don't mind that tbh cos it can half handle that...Few new birds here and there in the Monkey and Bird Garden... It'd be nice if they got some non-reflective glass or removed the bars in the future... Cos it's really annoying for photos...Wanyama has FENNEC FOXES OF JOY! They are awesome and sit right next door to the hut... Aside from them, surprised the Gazelle are in the old Agouti pen... Thought they'd be in the actual Savannah... But oh wells...Sea-Life followed... Which now makes even less sense with the random Aztec tunnel stuff... Maybe if the rest of it was themed but hey... Something to add on the ever growing list of things to do...After a bit of faff, went to Zafari Bar and Grill... OMG it's epic! Especially the 2 courses for £10 deal, I really hope they have that during the main season... Absolutely gorgeous food and extremely filling... Looks really nice as well...After lunch, did another round of the zoo which took us to closing, when we went back to the hotel bar and had a natter about various Chessie related things that will hopefully come into fruition soon...Fun day though, and made me very excited for opening... Bring on the 26th!EDIT - Also, if they're changing Goblin, they need to get a shift on... Though I doubt much will change... -

It's comments like that that make not not only depise people's stupidity, but also make me feel better about myself because I'm not that stupid...Funny old world...Reminded me of the woman on Towers Facebook complaining about the hotel serving Halal chicken and telling people not to go because of it... Daft person...
Why can smaller parks theme their rides better than Merlin though?They should have less budget, yet we get things like Fluch von Novgorod, Mystery Mine, Raptor Attack... Hell even Troublesome Trucks is more themed than Saw...
Neither have the best theming in their parks...But Wild Asia has Lorikeets and Banyan <3
Despicable MeIt's a good film, unfortunately with Toy Story 3 also out this year it certainly was over-shadowed to a degree...However, it's still great fun, because it's a lot of slapstick comedy which helps it work on a world-wide level...And the Lehman Brother joke <3 Joke of the year by far...Also, Minions <39/10PaulI really really enjoyed this... There was a slight worry that it wasn't going to reach similar levels as Shaun and Fuzz, but it damn well tried it's best and succeeded in my opinion... All the characters involved were very entertaining, from Mr Tambor's turn as that famous guy who hates his fans, and Jason Bateman's sneer... Everyone involved played their roles extremely well...Paul himself... Is weird... It's a CGI alien voiced by Seth Rogen... And considering he acts like Seth Rogen in many of his other films, it's hard to actually not see Seth himself... A slight blergh on my part, but never the less he was very entertaining and actually partly loveable...Is it as good as Shaun and Fuzz? I didn't think so because of the slight lull in the plot speed at points, but, it's not too far away from the two...9/10

How much was Fast-track last year? Last I remember was 7 quid for 6 rides but that was in 2009...Thing is, if it's gonna work like that, gonna be some messed up pieces of paper... It makes little sense to have Vampire, Kobra and Fury on the same one as Toadies, Truckers and Jumbos... (Of course saying that, I of course will ride Toadies and Jumbos should the queues be acceptable)...

Defo the same by looks of things...Since it was always a shop, the main entrance (into Octopus Gardens) wasn't enough and rather claustrophobic when busy...Hence, another entrance was made... Simple solution here... Help reduce everyone trying to get in and out of one section by building another in the side...
Trucks needs to go die ANYWAY...Fast-track added on... It's just going to be a nightmare for everyone involved, I honestly feel sorry for those who have to work on it this year with that added on... Absolute shambles...It's very similar to Lego having Q-bot on loads of small attractions, but at least they are limited by the time-frame given to them, unless Chessie revamps the system here, the queue for Truckers WILL be an hour in peak days... And that's not right at all...Jumbos as Mark said is similar... It's always got consistently high queues in peak days, and it doesn't have the full overall capacity to allow easy acceptance of Fast-track...And Toadies? Just... WHY?I liked Chessie's low number of rides on Fast-track, especially as they were all rides that could take on the extra number of people without kicking up too much of a fuss aside from those exceptionally busy days... Why are Chessie wasting money on things like this when there are a lot bigger and more important things to do... It's not like they don't sell enough surely?And if they're doing it to help warrant an increase in price? What crap that would be, yeah I wanna go on Fury and Vampire before hitting up Truckers... Bloody brilliant...
