Never understood showing yourself doing stupid stuff in a park (be it open or shut), it's asking to get banned...- Vampire
Any modern day design to be used in the UK has to work within BOTH EN and BS legislation... This goes for pretty much every industry... I would suggest that it is a manufacturer thing, and that comparing design and construction methods of a 15 year gap is completely different... Vampire probably was hand drawn calculations to ensure it worked correctly...- Vampire
Course those are solid, they're about 3x the diameter... To minimise the flex you need to compensate... Add in Arrow and their tendency to over engineer everything and there's a massive difference in design... Plus obviously the massive changes in technology allow different things to be done in terms of getting away with certain designs because you can check it all on a CAD program in a hour or so... If Fury's lift hill didn't wobble it would do much more damage...- Top 10's
Think it might also be an issue of when someone rode Nemesis. I was quite fortunate that Nemesis was more of the kick-starter into coaster enthusiasm (17 years ago! I rode it before some people on this forum even existed!) so I had no real knowledge of it, whereas a lot of enthusiasts who have been in the game a bit before going up there will end up being no doubt disappointed because of the aura many of us give it because it is something of the highest quality. Also some like to hate on it because it's going against the grain. It can also have off days no doubt, so those moments of Scarefest rainy night rides can be completely opposite to cold March mornings.- Vampire
That's deliberate, steel needs to have some give in it, otherwise it could be problematic... Even Nemesis' track bends, particularly after the zero-g...- Hansa and Heide
I think that area by the entrance has been closed for years, certainly since my first visit... Shame the Aztec area seems to be suffering from Merlin Mothball syndrome... Novgorod love is heavily approved, it's such a great all around experience- Vampire
Get Vekoma in again and do a complete refurb, new track, new lift hills (tyre driven ftw) and above all, get those bloody fab SFC trains on there... Though they'd need a new blocking system, I doubt tyre lifts would cope with a lot of stop/starting (if they can even do it of course)...- Top 10's

The truth. Dunno what it is about theme parks but a LOT of visitors tend to leave their brains at the gate.- XScream Escapes / XScream Events
Their social media once posted a picture of a RMC for no reason, but people put 2+2 together and get 5... Same when people see they've changed their answer to whatever is happening to Loggers today...- Blackpool Pleasure Beach
The lack of second launch sex noise (as per Taron) is the most disappointing part... There's about 4 real pops of airtime in it, it's not the best Mack Mega (it's about on par with Alpina Blitz for me) but it's something that the UK has been begging for... It's deliciously re-rideable and they've done a good job with the layout given the unique restrictions at Blackpool... People need to get over Wild Mouse being spited though... It's sad that it went, but look at it from the operational stand point of people being hurt on rides in a post Smiler world... Hell when Dipper derailed the years ago the papers were desperate to hear of injuries and didn't really care when there weren't any...- Energylandia
Edit - Facebook is blocked at work so assumed Josh had posted the video also doing the rounds.- 2018 General Discussion
Short-sightedness is causing problems, so let's just stick the latest fad IP onto an event because people like it...- Energylandia

I've honestly no idea if they have a Fastpass tbh, if they do it's probably worth it's weight in gold... They do some form of ERT, but not sure if it's exclusive for hotel guests though, might be worth an investigation... Though if they've gone for the pay-per-ride model all of that might well mean nothing anymore... So good luck...- Colossus
I half expected them to use Oblivion, in some weird satire...- Logger's Leap
Yeah, it means it's an attraction, not a ride- Park Operations
Is the joke that it's not a Flying coaster?- Europa Park
Effect free (well, the only effect was the waterfall anyway) because of an on-going HSE investigation into a similar attraction down the road, but why let facts get in the way of bashing Merlin? Dunno about the boats, could potentially be one of those moments where a bottleneck happened at the base of the lift hill so a massive gap developed... Happened before...- Park Music
Wonder if it's a rights issue? And easier for the parks to get IMAScore to dirge out something and then have them for good rather than create completely bespoke from individuals... It's strange because IMAScore do create some great themes... Perhaps it's to do with what they're given by the client as a specification, as the more distinct stuff sounds like the parks have worked directly and constantly to provide something memorable...- Next Roller Coaster
Texas Giant (and one would also presume Steel Vengeance) having problems might well give Merlin worries given recent events...- Europa Park
Amazing stuff, though I doubt helped by the difference of regulatory standards... If same thing happened here, HSE would have the site until determination of the root cause was firmly established and the park would prove that it wasn't in the wrong (or try to)... We'd never get this purely because the parks wouldn't care or lazyness... - Legoland
