So the annual IAAPA show has started in Florida, and many AWESOME things are there for all to see! (Photo's from TPR)^ At S&S. This is one of the cars for the new El Loco in Australia. It has two 4-person rows, Lap Bars and audio! This is on the same track layout as any other El Loco however, but should be even more awesome because of the lap bars... oh, and is that a light up logo on the front? ^ This is from Fabbri... it's a posh ferris wheel car O.o Seems a bit weird to me, seeing as most ferris wheels are family orientated, wonder if anyone will be interested in buying it, very random, also wonder if they'll decide to make a version for Cable Cars too... ^ Train for Manta at SeaWorld San Diego, the zero-car very much reminds me of Cheetah Hunt's trains.^ This is some contraption from KMG, very unique compared to their other rides (usually spinning or swinging style rides which are easy to put up in a short amount of time) I suspect this thing could take quite some time to put up compared to say the Speed which takes a very short time of around 2 hours...^ Lo-Q, the people behind the awesome Q-Bot's have now developed an iPhone application which essentially makes your iPhone the Q-Bot.^ New GIANT FlowRider! Wonder if one of these will appear on any future RCCL ships, or at some Water Parks even.^ And to end, Europa Park GCI goodness, love the way that this ride is going to enhance the experience of Blue Fire and Atlantica by having those awesome headchoppers added, Blue Fire just looks to get better and better!

Needs to stop posting inappropriate Skype links... Oh, and needs to go to Thorpe Park in 2012

Awesome! The dockyard theme/style mentioned could fit in with Amity Cove if they wanted to go down that route of theming matching with what's in park... or they could just have the hotel fairly un-themed like Chessington with a few hints of theming here and there. Agreed with the location by the waterside, this is going to be a really great location and an awesome view from the windows right next to the lake! Let's just hope it all goes ahead as planned.

Loving Cher Lloyd-With ur Love! Such an improvement upon the mess that was Swagger Jagger :PWaiting for Skrillex's new EP/Album which is due anytime now... Been anticipating it for a while now xD Although Voltage Vs Cinema seems to have been leaked, even though it isn't perfect quality it should drop pretty soon.A few favourites of mine at the moment Also can't wait for Rihanna's new album. oh... and Clubland 20 is pretty good.

What an awesome read! I've always loved Slammer for the unique ride experience that it creates; it's one of them marmite rides, some people love it, some just hate it. I see Thorpe as quite lucky to have the ride, although I really don't think it'll have much longer left due to the amount it must cost for the park to maintain... and then there's the safety issues with it if there's a power cut. It would actually make more sense to take it out at the same time as X:/, then a nice plot of land would be left, even though I'd hate to see it go. :(Brilliant read as always though.

The trim being on could be an idea, but seeing as there is only one element after it there wouldn't seem to be much logic in it Also, that great airtime you get off the MCBR would potentially be killed or weakened, and in my opinion may worsen the ride experience.

Manta at SeaWorld San Diego is really going up quick now!SkyRush, the new semi-winged Intamin Mega Coaster at Hershey Park has also finally started to go vertical, although they are very behind with this construction due to the severe flooding the park had over the late summer. ^ This is the mounting for the lift motor.^ Really tall footers here, obviously to keep the track higher than water level when the river rises.Lift and some of the layout... Yay for minimalist Intamin supports (the highest point of the lift is 200ft, and will lift the train at a speed of 18mph)

The first piece of track has been installed for Manta, the new Mack Rides launch coaster for 2012 at SeaWorld San Diego!

They've been working for the past couple of years as far as I know! And aren't they triggered by every second train that leaves the lift or something? There must be some sort of sensor system that stops them going off while a train is going past. Or do you mean the smoke geyser by the top of the steps outside the station? As that's hardly been working on any of my visits this year, think some birds made it their home as they were going through a hole in the mesh...

Right, I don't usually do reviews of individual rides, but I feel that this ride needs to added to my list of "exceptional rides" Mondial Capriolo-2Xtreme.So tonight I went to the annual Milton Keynes halloween and fireworks funfair, which is on for around 2 weeks annually. The ride line up at this fair is really quite special, with names such as:Rock Rage-KMG Inversion12Tango-KMG TangoDrop Zone-Fabbri 140ft Drop Tower (same as Detonator but taller)Extreme-Tivoli 6-Arm ReMix OrbiterStar FlyerEnergy Storm-Street Fighter (similar to KMG Freak Out)Reverse BungeeAnd of course Walter Murphy's 2Xtreme-Caprioloand that's to name a few... there was no Enterprise this year, which was no loss in my eyes Anyway, onto the Capriolo. From afar 2Xtreme looks nothing special, although it certainly looks the part with new LED lighting and a massive green star on the counterweight poking out into the sky with lightning bolts going down the main arm. Some may say it looks like a glorified booster/speed, as it does look similar in some ways, the ride experience however is completely opposite to that of a booster. The ride was kinda struggling to get many riders early in the evening, allowing me to have a ride on one side all by myself, with 2 people on the other side. Once seated your restraints are locked in the same way as on any Mondial ride, and pin you at the hip and legs instead of the body, giving some nice movement. The floor drops and the ride starts with a rather calm swing, gradually getting higher and higher as it goes backwards and forwards, (think Rush) The swings actually felt more powerful than Rush's, giving some good hangtime when near the top, and a kind of 'kick' when the direction changes! The swing then reaches full height and your left upside down for a period of a about 5 seconds... All while that massive fan roars above or below you.The brakes then release off the gondola leaving it to swing insanely, leaving you barely any time to notice your flying back down to earth, either flying face-first or up to the sky when you fly through the station area, pinning your body and head right into your seat. This happens about 6 times, sometimes though, at the top of the tower the brakes on the gondola will activate making you fly through the station upside down, This is the most intense ride manoeuvre I have ever experienced, pulling around 5G. From then on the ride ends with a few more swings, feeling ever more powerful...(image from ukrides)The Capriolo flies right in there as my No.1 fair ride. It's experience is 100% unique and is almost like Mondial took the booster and turned it into this awesome machine with the Intense edge that Mondial rides have, putting the KMG Speed at No.2 and The Tivoli ReMix at No.3. ^There you can see, it pulls +5G and -1G, and takes approximately 12 hours to put up! It's also 160ft in height&is the only ride of it's type in the UK. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACYk5vknbuw And that's all, Luke.

This. At about 1:50 onwards if you can't be bothered to listen to it all... Oh My God though, Love it! Avicii, cannot wait for this to be fully released in the UK. <3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypccTML42jk

^ Most B&M coasters have gaps like that where the switch/transfer track is, or else when it moves it would obviously scrape and possibly damage the track.Oblivion can only be stopped on any of the 'pinch brake' sections, the conveyors at the top of the lift and between the main brakes and transfer track. Or the main lift. It cannot be stopped on the holding brake, as it is effectively a reverse of the chain-lift, therefore if there is a power cut in between the block just before the drop where there are some friction wheels and a pinch brake, the chain will just let the train roll straight off of it, as there is no power to hold the train. Never heard of it stalling though, seeing as it goes through the tunnel and turnaround at quite a pace! :SAs for the access to the tunnel, there must be some sort of access near the exit of it near Enterprise? Although I'm not sure about this, can you access the tunnel from the door/hut thing to the right of this picture?

Needs to get to Thorpe Park next year And is my best friend on TPM.

I like that song... But I like this version more!

So sad CCR is the only 'relaxed' ride in the park in my opinion. Yes you have the sunken gardens... but even there you hear Stealth and even more the Swarm next year. Wonder what the main reason was for this decision. Give it a few years and Thorpe may as well be owned by Six Flags (of course this won't happen), well not even that as Six Flags have kids rides too. It's just so frustrating that Merlin feel Thorpe just needs thrill after thrill after thrill. It doesn't, it needs a majority of thrill rides with the few filler rides for everyone in the family. *major sigh*

Siri meets Siri. This could go on forever if you wanted to...

Verbolten construction update! The images here show all of the indoor track. The building will be built around it, and hopefully there will be some good theming in here. Reminds me very much of Saw, remember this is a Zierer coaster! Images credit to TPR and BGWfans.Looks very good to be honest! Now if this Zierer coaster turns out to be good, then I can see them giving Intamin a run for their money on their family style Blitz coasters like Cheetah Hunt.
