  1. Sounds just as bad as I have heard in other places then. Won't be visiting anytime soon - if they can't be bothered to run the park properly, why should I bother to visit? I reckon there should be a war between Flamingo Land and Oakwood for the UK's worst run park
  2. Personally I am hoping for heavy rain. Tbh I want to do Studio 13 at least twice on the preview night but I doubt that will happen...
  3. In my opinion it should be the one thing that stays exactly the same (and the music!) as it's a timeless effect that is used so successfully in a lot of horror mazes across the world. I don't think that anything else would get quite the same reaction (look at the failed ending of E10 in 2012) as Asylum was the only maze where people nearly always ran out. Plus the chainsaw was used in Freezer as well so it's not like it was just Asylum. However, the way they build up tension to the final could change. Some audio in the final corridor of the director talking (think Sanctuary strobe maze) before he chases you out would be fantastic!
  4. Hopefully it won't be too bad as it is on a Thursday. I heard that the last time they did it on a Thursday it was dead.
  5. So they overlap? As it starts at 6pm for Annual Passholders.
  6. Hold on a minute... 10 rides closed at one point?!!

    Scarefest

Doesn't fill me with much enthusiasm really. Glad I'm not bothering with Scarefest this year. I think that for once Fright Nights will clearly be the superior event.
  8. This maze is actually shaping up to be so good! I bet that's like a prop room within the studio or something.
  9. How? Have you seen inside it? (I think it will be but just wondering if you have seen anything to suggest so?)
  10. My Bloody Valentine would if you could actually see any of the theming... Saw Alive is quite well themed, it's just a shame that the actors and general experience as a maze let it down.
  11. The Curse was very inconsistent. When the actors knew what they were doing and there was the right level of smoke/lighting, it was fantastic but it was often in very poor form.
  12. They are actually from the theming company who made the maze. Scroll down to last September/October time. https://twitter.com/ScruffyDogLtd https://www.facebook.com/scruffydogltd
  13. I wonder if that will be the actual director who you see in the maze? Apart from the one photo of the nicely themed window/door, all the other interior bits I have seen of Studio 13 have just had black walls so I hope that doesn't turn out to be the case. In another note, I hope that MBV and CITW get tweaks this year to build on last year and iron out the flaws. EDIT: I've just found some behind the scenes photos of My Bloody Valentine on the internet. Thorpe really let it down with the lighting last year, it's actually really well themed!
  14. Why should celebrities get special treatment?! It's stupidity, they have so much money already they don't need it! I would have made a huge complaint if I had to wait for 40 minutes for that!
  15. Thorpe have the best re-ride policy. If there is someone in your row, you get off and fill the empty seats. Otherwise you can just stay on! Also it's great that they sometimes let you go back behind the gates and wait.
  16. That's what should happen. Thorpe just say "don't do it again" a lot of the time, or don't even do anything. One thing that I think needs to happen is bag searching everyone at FN rather than just a few.
  17. I remember at Thorpe Park Fright Nights last year there was a similar day - it was horrendous. Saw a woman get mugged (we helped her by getting a security guard over) My Bloody Valentine evacuated and closed for at least an hour as a result of something serious caused by one of these idiots! Actor having to come out of MBV later in the day to stop chavs repeatedly banging on the wall People smoking everywhere. In queues, in people's faces, restaurants etc... Queue jumpers. Queue fence jumpers Loads of people staggering around the park drunk Verbal abuse Standing up on Storm Surge despite repeated shouting by the ops (AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN GET KICKED OUT OF THE PARK!) Being pushed into a fence in Asylum (as we were at the front and their reaction to being scared was just to run forward) Witnessed quite a serious fight outside MBV In fact, I recall it being quite bad on all my FN visits last year, but one Sunday was the absolute worst! I'm not sure how Towers cope with it but Thorpe need to knuckle down big time this year as they were not able to cope last year.
  18. Rides can last a lot longer than you think if they are looked after well. Colossus and Saw will only be at the end of their lives in 2024 if Thorpe don't maintain them. Oh wait... With that argument there won't be a park left in 2024

    Slammer

I actually think it runs a lot faster nowadays than it used to.
  20. I have never agreed with the whole "it's okay because there is something worse" argument. Thorpe's overselling of Fastrack last year was diabolical. Nice Experiment 10 audio in the background! I miss that maze (in it's 2011 form anyway).
  21. Well yes it is, I meant yep as in yep I had experienced it. There's nothing else to add really. My rant is people who rant about other people's posts without good reason!
  22. The Arena and Fungle Safari both have ample space for a dark ride.
  23. Fright Nights should always be a more adult based event. However, I think they missed a trick by not advertising Blair Witch as being more of a "family" attraction, as it might actually get some good reviews then as people won't be expecting it to be scary.
  24. It seems that Tomb escaped the touch ups they made to other rides last closed season - hope it gets some TLC this year as it so badly needs it!
