If Winter Wonderland was acceptably priced then I would visit. However, I think people are mad to pay £7 for a travelling Wild Mouse coaster, let alone a flat!
Laser Raiders is just cardboard cut-outs. I know Tomb is knackered but it's still far better, despite needing a hell of a lot of work done on it (which I hope it will get over the winter - yeah, right!)
One thing I can't understand about Merlin's queues is why they have closed off the nice, interesting queueline of Dragon Falls in favour of a new cattlepen!
(Unless it's REALLY busy).
If they are going to do queueline TV's then they need them in areas of the queue only - not the whole queueline like The Swarm, as to be honest that just annoys me.
What exactly are you looking for in a queueline then? I agree that Merlin's are dull but just wondering what you want them to be like?
Also, nobody can fairly judge a ride without going on it, you can only make an educated guess at what it will be like.
I actually think that Thorpe (and Merlin in general) needs more covered queuelines! Nearly all of them are outside without any sort of cover and it's horrible when it rains.
I often have strange dreams involving theme parks. One I have been having a lot recently is being in a theme park, (always one that I go to) but when I start to head for a ride it turns into my school! Very strange I know
I won't be judging the ride until I have ridden it. However, I will be very disappointed if it is a laser shooter or relies on screens. Animatronics and effects please!
Yep, it's laughable the state that most of the park is in, because it "fits" in with the theme. I'm sorry but overgrown weeds, broken walls, worn paintwork and rusty/oil-covered track does NOT fit in with any theme other than "derelict theme park."
Well I've heard lots of good things from people who visited this year about the coaster (not the park itself though!) and apparently it has new trains this year so it's better than it used to be.
What's bad about it then?
They definitely need more filler rides. They have coasters and flats but apart from that there really isn't that much there. They need at least two more dark rides - I'm not talking about the 2016 investment, I'm talking about some low key Ghost Train style dark rides as I think that's where I get bored with Thorpe tbh - after the coasters and flats there's nothing else to do apart from water rides.
I picked up my MAP from Thorpe in early October and it is the same as usual. They probably just use those pictures to fit in with Thorpe's new marketing style - it is a bit strange to show a different design to what you get though.
Supposedly because of H&S - in reality probably to reduce costs. If it is H&S then they should install lights, it's unacceptable to close a ride early when it could be avoided.
I can't believe that the 2014 season has gone by so quickly. It's definitely been a mixed one at Thorpe - I've had some great days there and some truly awful ones.
I think that over closed season they need to give the park a PROPER overhaul as a lot of areas are looking rather run down. They also need to refurbish toilets as they are disgusting (apart from the Swarm island ones), and most importantly review their operations standards on rides and improve/replace their maintenance team.
Capaldi is a brilliant Doctor IMO, and I enjoyed the episodes much more than Matt Smith's, however some of them were a bit odd. What did people think of the finale?
That first piece of music is called Atlantis and is on Youtube somewhere... I know this as I have been using it on RCT3 for years. Slightly strange choice.
