  1. Sheer idiocy. On both the guests behalf and the park management.
  2. ...Meanwhile BPB have 9 out of 10 coasters open (PMBO was closed due to wind for half the day but not their fault) and all operating on full capacity with most queues less than 30 mins (yet park was fairly busy).Well, there were a few breakdowns but rides were back open again within 20 mins. It's funny that a park that makes a loss can still beat the "might" of Merlin - I know where I'd rather be!
  3. It was reasonably busy yesterday but fairly quiet today. Ill report back on how busy it is tomorrow. They are coping with crowds pretty well though to be fair. Also Valhalla was virtually walk on for most of the day!!
  4. My guess is that it will go in the conference tent near The Swarm. Does this really mean that a huge section of the park will be closed off for the whole of the 2015 season?
  5. I want a go on Baco! Sounds like the type of coaster I would like.
  6. They can't get rid of Calypso BBQ!
  7. Very excited for this new ride, and it's great to see BPB bringing something unique to the UK. My only concern is the low capacity, but hopefully they will provide an interesting queueline to make up for this.

Spooky 3D (only just - both are pretty dire to be honest). Blackpool Pleasure Beach or Thorpe Park?
  9. The website says it's open April - November for the main park so I'm not sure what you mean by that.

    This Or That

Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day. The Asylum or Studio 13?
  11. Theme Park: Blackpool Pleasure Beach Ride (including coasters): Valhalla Coaster: The Big One Country: England UK City: Blackpool (not technically a city but oh well!) Instrument: Trombone Movie: Back to The Future TV Show: Merlin Book (by series): Harry Potter Ice Cream (by brand): Haagen Dazs Food: Pizza Article(s) of Clothing: Theme park hoodies! Subject: Music
  12. It wasn't quite as horrendous today as it was on Friday (and, from what I heard, Saturday) but it was still more like Reserve N Queue than Reserve N Ride.
  13. If they trial RNR tomorrow after this then they truly are stupid.
  14. That is ridiculous! Do they never learn? After yesterday's fiasco I would have thought they would have the sense not to trial it today or tomorrow. They are idiots.
  15. They aren't really comparable though as Valhalla is predominantly a dark ride whereas Chiapas only goes indoors a few times. Tbh I'd probably prefer Valhalla
  16. Glad to see someone else who appreciates the masterpiece that is Valhalla.
  17. I can't see why they would get rid of X. It's popular with families now and they have just spent money doing it up and turning the trains around. Also it's a good coaster! Where have you heard these rumours?
  18. The park audio for Fright Nights was actually very good today! Only positive about the day though
  19. Samurai still closed however there is nobody working on the ride...
  20. What a complete and utter farce. We spent half an hour trying to get some knackered old smartphone connected to the internet which didn't work as they weren't using cards! (Even though I had one). This is wrong as it excludes a lot of guests who don't have smartphones. Therefore we used a priority pass that we had received when buying our Merlin passes on My Bloody Valentine (and had one of the worst runs ever through it - nothing happened!) After a few rides we went over to Saw Alive, where the Reserve and Ride situation was just laughable. The main queue was just past the end of the final corner. The RNR queue however was huge! Coming all the way from the entrance up past the main entrance, winding around past the green tent. Also, it wasn't just one single line but a huge bunch of people - I reckon it would have taken about 2 hours at the least! And I feel sorry for those few people in the main queue thinking it won't take long. I bet they didn't even get batched until the RNR queue had gone! There is no defence for this at all. How many people are Thorpe spiting with Reserve and Ride? And still they insist on trialing the system, which goes wrong nearly every time. Absolute craziness. Also, it's pointless. Why not just have a normal queue instead of people having to reserve to queue? Studio 13 also had a RNR queue longer than the main queue, and CITW had quite a long RNR queue (but not as bad as the other ones!) Further to this, we left the mazes in favour of rides, and queued 50 minutes for Inferno only to find that it was running one train. After everything else that had happened this is a complete and utter joke. It's obvious to me that they don't care one bit about customer experience, and it has me questioning why I keep going back to the place. Bear in mind that Inferno had both trains on when we went on it at about 5:30pm, so where is the logic for taking one off when the mazes aren't able to handle any crowds due to the stupid system?! I have lost it with Thorpe. I'm visiting Fright Nights on Sunday as I can't let my friends down, but had it been just been family we wouldn't have bothered. Surely even they won't be stupid enough to trial it again given the complete failure today?! Complete waste of an evening, and petrol money. It's time Thorpe started to focus on throughput and guest experience rather than stupidity like this. Not impressed.
  21. Impressive considering that they installed a major coaster this year. If it's anything like Bling in its early days then it will be a good ride.
  22. Does anyone else think it's a bit odd that you don't actually meet the director in Studio 13?
  23. Yep, it's rumoured to be an Air Race.
  24. They are definitely getting something new then! Exciting times.
