  1. Agreed, plus I had to wait about an hour to get in (which took a good 45 minutes off the three hours we should have had). Why not open until 10pm with discounted tickets after a certain time?
  2. Closing at 10 pm isn't really a "night" event. They just about got away with it at 10:30 pm IMO, but I can't justify paying for it when other parks (eg Oakwood) stay open until 10 pm free of charge, plus there are fireworks and a dive show and all rides stay open!)

The "stand clear, vehicle approaching" voice? Or have they added another voice? It changed at the beginning of last year (or the one before).
  4. I remember that, My Bloody Valentine had an 140 minute queue because of it and it should have been about 60 maximum! Overselling fastrack is completely unacceptable on Thorpe's behalf and shows that they value money over guest experience.

I liked the old one, the new one is dull and boring.
  6. Wait so you can queue in the main queue if you want to? This is a big improvement, and how it should have been all along!
  7. Whilst Thorpe's opening hours could be improved, they aren't nearly as bad as Alton Towers!
  8. It shouldn't be an argument though. If people don't like something then it is their right to voice this. I like debate, but it seems that anyone who doesn't like what Thorpe does gets shouted down. To be honest, if everyone had exactly the same view then there wouldn't be any point in a forum.

Didn't the Quantum music come on after the entrance theme? I thought that was why the main entrance music has a weird chord at the end as it led into the Quantum theme. Either way, it suits Quantum well IMO.

Probably because it was closed most of the time.
  11. On a different subject, it's a shame that the public will come to the park for any gimmick (swarm backwards) no matter how (IMO) bad it is...
  12. Yes it is likely to have teething problems, but is it acceptable to carry out a test like this whilst the paying public are in the park? Giving them the option to try it out is fine IMO, but forcing them to use it is wrong.

I play in an orchestra and agree that the strings don't sound real, but I think the brass does.
  14. Despite the fact that they had a poor season, it seems the public didn't mind: http://riderater.co.uk/2014/chessington-records-15-visitor-rise-in-2013/

    Oh for...
  16. It seems that Blackpool Pleasure Beach have gone down the same route as Thorpe with their new website: http://www.blackpoolpleasurebeach.com/ In this case it is an improvement as the previous website was dire! It's easier to navigate that Thorpe's IMO.

Yeah that could be what they did, recorded musical ideas then overdubbed them onto one track.
  18. Only people who follow their social media pages. Whilst it's good to let people know things via the internet, not everyone who visits uses the internet, and even less follow their pages.

So it's suffered the fate of Vampire's third train?
  20. Yet another classic woodie being destroyed Although I haven't been to Six Flags (or even America), it saddens me that parks get rid of rides as soon as they stop pulling in crowds. That doesn't mean they aren't good rides!

What can you expect when there is no clear system? It's a total mess. When the backwards queue is open, they often don't give tickets resulting in confusion in the station. When the queue is closed, nobody knows how to go backwards as the Brave it Backwards sign is still there, yet the gate is closed. How can you expect people to understand which queue's what? Whatever happened to the good old days of one queue per ride?
  22. If the system is planned for a replacement for fastrack then why don't they do that, instead of closing the main queue? I know I would have been very hacked off if I had visited yesterday expecting a quiet day with lots of re-rides, only to be subjected with having to walk to and from the dome every time I want to go on a coaster! Ridiculous.
  23. I'm not actually sure what the point of this system is. There is nothing else to do at the park besides going on rides and queueing for them. Therefore, what is the point of not having to physically stand in the queue? There's nothing else to do, so I'd rather be stood in a queue rather than standing like a lemon waiting for my turn.

First Colossus, now this... Isn't that what closed season is for?!

There's no way that would fit in Rattlesnake's pit.
