  1. If visiting on a Sunday I would recommend not buying one - the park empties fairly early and you will definitely get a chance to get on all the mazes and rides (provided you are there for the whole day). Obviously Sundays in half term will be different. Personally I don't buy Fastrack, so I wouldn't know how long the queues took - what I do know is that most mazes were walk on from 8pm onwards so I went in them multiple times without the need to buy a Fastrack ticket.
  2. To be honest, if the preshow only had the part with Chase (And no Gotzee), I wouldn't hate it as much. Or better still, if they turned it into an indoor section of the queue with Chase being on a queueline TV.
  3. Running the rides at more than half their achievable throughput would be a start...
  4. Interesting. For some reason I don't think it has the same ring to it as other such areas in other parks, but we shall see. What I'd rather see for next season is The Smiler sorted out!
  5. - I really like Cabin in the Woods, but I think that the lighting in the last section (after the low celing) could be better. - MBV would be scarier if you actually saw Harry Warden clearly. - Asylum's sirens are still too quiet! Just a small nit pick at what is otherwise a fantastic event this year!
  6. I agree with the comments being made - up until this year I have enjoyed visiting Chessington. This year they have gone completely downhill in every way possible. Rides closed, SBNO, theming falling apart, Zufari being a shambles (could have been a decent attraction, but the preshow, broken effects and tacky theming let it down greatly) and an awful replacement for Burger King - these are just a few of the many issues I have with the park this year. - In the summer, at peak season they couldn't even be bothered to run their rides at even a suggestively high throughput. - Vampire would have better operations if they left it to the monkeys out of the monkey enclosure (which is also a part of the park currently unavaliable to guests!!) - Halloween event only open until 7pm - No staff on the parking barriers on the way out, causing for long delays with only one barrier working (that didn't even work properly, causing long delays as it wouldn't scan the tickets. I Sent them an email of complaint about this, but got no reply). Now, with Zoo days not including even the three small rides it included last year I have lost it with the park. I won't be visiting again for a while now unless they get their act together and actually make an effort. Hopefully they will use the time that Bubbleworks is closed to sort the thing out - repaint the walls, new theming where needed and close the maintenance doors! Chessington amazes me - it's the only park that after visiting for free (with a MAP), I still feel ripped off.
  7. No, TBWP is opening at 7 now! And yesterday CITW opened at 6 (I was there).
  8. Why aren't they opening Cabin in the Woods until 6 now?
  9. Great day at Fright Nights today! Asylum x5! MBV x2 CITW x2 Quite a few rides done as well! Mazes and rides were really quiet.
  10. Obviously it was going to be busy yesterday. It's a Saturday (which automatically meant it will be busier than a Sunday) and has anyone seen the forecast for today? I'm braving the weather today - hope it's quiet! If they made more of an effort to get rides running at full throughput when the park is busy then I wouldn't mind it being busy.
  11. I didn't mean it realistically, I was just saying that a woodie like that would be fantastic at Chessington.
  12. Is it different to just doing a maze on your own during normal park hours due to there being no queue? (Which I did last weekend on Sunday).
  13. Small woodie like this at Chessie - If only...
  14. Thanks for the review, it's interesting to see other people's opinions. I can't understand why they won't turn the siren up in Asylum though!
  15. Layout is similar, but scenery and general feel of the maze is mostly different.
  16. Then why are there all these complaints about it? (I wasn't judging from my personal viewpoint there - I am yet to ride it!)
  17. Just looked on Thorpe's website at the gate price (out of interest, I have a MAP). £49.99!!
  18. Looks far better than Saw, you can tell that the transitions are smooth rather than jolty and rough. Which begs the question - all of the Gerstlauer coasters built this year seem smooth and nice, so why is The Smiler jolty like Saw?
  19. Why do they use that font? It's almost impossible to read! Still, sounds exciting. Hopefully it will be a full refurb and not just a few more props/audio changes. I probably won't experience Halloween Hocus Pocus this year - can't see the point in going to a Halloween event that closes it's doors at 7pm! (Or a park/ride team that can't run their main coaster at even half the throughput it can achieve, but that's for a different topic).
  20. They had better do! I haven't ridden it yet, but a brand new ride shouldn't have a huge jolt already (and wouldn't if the manufacturer was any good).
  21. Does anyone know if the music played inside My Bloody Valentine is available online? (With all the sudden and loud brassy notes etc...)
  22. I actually quite like Hocus Pocus Hall - good, quirky fun. Still, it would be really nice to see a refurb.

    X

When I went on X last Sunday only the central light column was working - no lasers.
  24. When I found it there was nobody in the room shown so the buttons didn't do anything
