  1. Organised Chat: This Friday, at around 7pm. Subject: Thorpe Park's next investment (what would you like to see etc...) It doesn't have to stay as that subject, it's just a starting point. See you there!
  2. Are you allowed to divulge this information? If so, please do
  3. Agreed! I also think that the queueline for The Swarm lacks any sort of atmosphere. The TV's don't really do much for me (more annoying than tension building) and it is a simple cattle pen without much theming other than what can be seen around the ride. The sound effect in the tower doesn't even work anymore... Also on another note, I'm sure the coaster has a good roar here However it seems as if it was silenced.
  4. The near misses on Raptor look much better than those on The Swarm though - a higher theming level and more of them (three on the last inversion!) I think that The Swarm lacks some of the "small touches" that make theming complete, and landscaping (doesn't really have any, unless the ponds count). Still a well themed coaster for the UK though!
  5. Does anyone else think that the theming of The Swarm could have been a lot better? I know it is really good (and much better than most other coasters in the country) but seeing photos of Raptor and now the new one in Heide Park look a lot "fuller" (for want of a better word). I'm not sure why, but there seems to be something missing from The Swarm's theming.

    X MUSIC?

I agree, I really want them to release it somewhere!

    Doctor Who

I didn't really think much of the special to be honest. I much prefer a good monster episode with lots of problems to solve rather than time hopping achieving not much in particular. I enjoyed aspects of it, but overall it left a kind of "meh" feeling in my opinion.
  8. I am well aware of the differences between older and newer woodies as I have ridden the Blackpool woodies and Megafobia a lot. I'm not sure if the people visiting Thorpe know about woodies in the UK, but does it matter? Do you think many of them knew about Speed before Saw was built? Or Raptor before Swarm? A woodie at Thorpe would bring something new to the majority of people at the park, which can only be a good thing.
  9. I think that the height restriction is in place because of other factors, such as the locals being fusspots etc...
  10. Yes, but Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Oakwood have proven that the general public do love woodies - I don't hear anyone at either parks complaining about them being "unsafe." Everyone comes off them with a huge grin on their face, and wants to go back for more! I think that the General Public would really enjoy a woodie at Thorpe.
  11. Those prices are pretty crazy to be honest. If there was a wristband system (or cheaper prices) then I would go.
  12. That isn't true, merlin just think it is.
  13. To be honest I can't see Thorpe building higher than Stealth as they don't have the room for it (unless it was another really short coaster). Woodie all the way in my opinion!
  14. Agreed, it used to keep me going through the closed season and I'd always go on or near my Birthday - don't think I'll bother this year. I really can't be bothered with Chessington anymore unless they up their game.
  15. Because they don't want to mess up a (probably) great ride like Thorpe did.
  16. Yeah it's closed season so there won't be any rides open (not even the three that were open last year for zoo days).

    Dreams

It's a strange one. Sometimes I lucid dream then get close to waking up but stop myself (without really being aware that I am doing so). Weird.
