  1. I have just recieved an E-mail from Merlin entertainments saying that it will take place on Sunday 10th March I will definatley be going!
  2. Mine was "Evolution is coming". Not very good I know but ties in with the original slogan. But to the post above, raising arms on rides isn't chavy!!!
  3. It would be great to see a complete refurbishment of Vampire. The original entrance could be used, completley new queueline, abdab removed (sorry but he's falling apart, poor guy ) and the gravestones around the queue could be put back in/new ones made. The station could also do with a minor overhaul, nothing major but just a spruce up - oh, and turn up the theme music and turn down the ride operator's voice!
  4. They're probably just trying to make it stand out as little as possible while still mentioning it considering that it won't be opening until May at least.
  5. That was in 2009 when Saw was new, although they did have that in the summer of 2012. (When they advertised it as being "more terrifying than ever lol) I miss Saw Alive, they should bring it back in my opinion or install a new dark ride/attraction because they are lacking. (They only have one!!)
  6. Last year the park's opening weekend wasn'y actually that busy on the Sunday, The Swarm only got up to 70 minutes if I remember rightly but stayed at 30 mins for the majority of the afternoon. (Bear in mind that it was brand new!)
  7. They should put the slogan on both sides of the billboard.
  8. Why is it actually taking so long? It is because of weather conditions? (I don't live in or near Staffordshire so I wouldn't know.)
  9. The closing time for Fright Nights has gone back down to 9pm now http://www.thorpepark.com/plan-your-visit/opening-times.aspx Changing the subject (kind of) I assume that if they were doing an Annual Pass day this year then we would have heard about it by now?
  10. I bet that's the reason for the closing time increase! I did think it was a bit unlike them...
  11. The new experiment 10 ending was dire! The maze was so much better in it's first year, it was a big letdown last year in my opinion. The new larger groups took out the fear factor that the maze had in 2011, you were no longer on your own after the solitary confinement and the gas masks that made the actors scary in 2011 were nowhere to be seen! Completley stupid considering that the maze didn't need changing at all. It was only it's second year!!
  12. Whatever this new development turns out to be, I will be there in the summer
  13. Of course they would keep their big rides! Swarm is only a year old lol! I think that Thorpe should make themselves appeal to all target audiences, therefore making more money. But that wouldn't mean removing any thrill rides/coasters.
  14. At least Vampire looking old and rusted sort of fits in with the theme. Colossus is supposed to look spectacular and stand out etc, not rusty and covered in oil. To be honest I would like to see the whole Colossus area cleaned up, not just a repaint.
  15. It probably won't be a thril ride as they have stated that it will be a family ride area. That being said, I wouldn't mind a new thrill ride there
  16. They wouldn't remove the pyramid. For one thing, it is still standing at the moment and to be honest X:/ No Way Out would be dire if it was outdoors. It works well as a dark ride in my opinion, I am looking forward to seeing what they have done with it (if anything) but it definatley won't be outdoors.
  17. Looks great I think Chessington are onto a winner here.
  18. I think the stops on the ride should be in their own little tunnels with lighting effects inside, and then keep the rest of the pyramid pitch black. Similar to the setup of Astro Storm at Brean, although obviously it doesn't actually stop on that, just slows down.
  19. Had to do 11, Sorry 1. Valhalla (Pleasure Beach Blackpool) This ride is my favourite because it combines so many things into one. Log flume, huge drops, special effects, ice, fire, temperatures etc... Just an absoloutley amazing ride, really well themed and the fantastic theme music finishes it off perfectly. Just wish the effects were more reliable. 2. Big One (Pleasure Beach Blackpool) Just an absoloutley amazing coaster in every way. An unbeatable first drop followed by two minutes of pure adrenaline and speed. The views from the top and the fact that it is the only coaster that you can ride multiple times in a row and still feel excited about riding it after the 5th or 6th consecutive ride also make it my favourite. 3. The Swarm (Thorpe park) Another great coaster. The theming really makes this ride for me, without it The Swarm would not be in second place. It is however a great coaster and (being my first Wingrider and the only one I have ridden) good because the ride experience is slightly different each time. 4. Wild Mouse (Pleasure Beach Blackpool) Fantastic coaster. It can't be beaten anywhere for intensity and airtime, feeling that hte car will actually leave the track and the speed make this one of my favourites. 5. Astro Storm (Brean Leisure Park) (Formerly Space Invader at PBB) Thought this was a good coaster at Blackpool but I really like what Brean have done with it - the main coaster is now taken in pitch black darkness, and special effects and theming is used on the trim brake sections, chain lift and brakes at the end. Also, the ride is usually walk on at Brean. 6. Oblivion (Alton Towers) The feeling of weightlessness as you descend into the tunnel makes this quite high on my top 10. I know it is short and the layout could (and should) have been longer, but the drop is a good one, beaten only by the first drop of The Big One. (And possibly Swarm's) 7. Th13teen (Alton Towers) Great ride and love the indoor section. This would be higher on my top 10 but the trim brakes round the outdoor section ruin it somewhat. I also think it was way overhyped by Alton Towers. 8. Colossus (Thorpe Park) I think this is a great coaster, an intense and thrilling first half before the five barrel rolls to finish. It is unfortunate that the ride is a shadow of it's former self, it was once a much better coaster. 9. Grand National (Pleasure Beach Blackpool) A classic woodie, the airtime is great, as is the rest of the ride and the racing element. 10. Revolution (Pleasure Beach Blackpool) The airtime, very forceful loop and the very strange sensation of doing a loop backwards make this coaster one of my favourites. 11. Megafobia (Oakwood Theme Park) Although this is a shadow of it's former self, I still find this a brilliant wooden coaster.
  20. What would possibly be the best option in my opinion would be to get rid of the last two sets of airgates and install a mini queueline (still in the style of the rest of the station) leading to one set of airgates, letting four people in at a time but two in row 6, two in row 7 etc...
  21. Looks great Should have been done years ago.
  22. These hints must mean an X retheme? I really hope so. Hope they keep the old Thorpe logo on the front of the trains though
  23. Here, here. Bring back the strobe lighting and the mirrors in my opinion!

    MTDP

Well obviously I'd rather have something better, I'm just saying that a topspin could work at Thorpe. Surley it would have been a more worthwhile addition than Storm Surge was?

Topspins may be the most unpopular rides at those theme parks, but surley it could be more popular at Thorpe - a theme park that is aimed completley at Thrillseekers.
