FRIDAY - your favorite party track It's the weekend, it's time to party. Drunken Jumpin' Jaks times lead me to... The Foundations - Build Me Up Buttercup
-
I quite like Saw. Except for the jolt that is, which is pretty inexcusable whatever the problem that causes it is.

I'm sure they know what they are doing to make the most money, but some of the pricing seems mental. The big rides have a steady flow of guests so they seem about right, but the few times I've been the smaller to mid (and especially kiddie) rides are empty most of the time. Surely it's better to run a full ride with loads of people paying a couple quid than a nearly empty one with two people paying a fiver?
-
Who's that made by? Why have you made the link to TP2015? Would a bag drop be necessary with that type of vehicle? It doesn't look like a TADRIS?(joke) Off topic times - since when? I'm sure they were still displaying two separate queue times quite near the end of the season? If this is true then good, it's about time!
-
That's pretty much decided that then tbh, there ain't likely to be a lot of queue inside!
-
I did do it last week but it seemed to freeze up at the end, so I don't know if it went through OK or not. I don't suppose you know either as it's anonymous?! In summery - lock 'em up!

THURSDAY - anything goes. There are some many tracks that have really touched me at a moment in my life I could play something that means something special every day for a year. This one is the soundtrack to my 1996, it's full of energy and life, as was I back then, and really captures that summer for me. First lads holiday, first taste of real freedom, first time going out and making some mistakes to learn from, first track I ever attempted to mix with (stupidly on a double cassette deck, amazingly quite successfully), until the day I day this will take me to a happy place. Stretch and Vern - I'm Alive. That is the delectable Jaime Murray in the video, tasty lady fans.

Appeared on might be a bit of a strong term, suggesting I had any meaningful part, it's not like I was on the credits! More like I happened to get on. And the answer is.... 2 I went to a few recordings of tv burp and at one they recorded the audience over and over pointing at the camera and shouting 'you're fired' for The Apprentice section. They used a clip of me doing that over and over and over, sometimes in a crowd and others in a close up with just me an my mate so very recognisably me! I've been to a few Harry Hill shows, at the end of most he has 'a disco' on stage where he invites the audience up to dance around with the characters (mostly badgers) for a bit. Not many people aactually go up, but I couldn't resist! He dropped the disco section from his last sjow, I was most disappointed. As far as I know, no one has ever managed to film me doing any of the stupid things I've done and get them on YBF.

It's also worth pointing out that they are nothing like the same ride other than a couple of design coincides. That rocket ride looks horrific though. I'm usually a try anything once kind of guy, but I really don't know that I'd be willing to get on that, it all looks wrong.
-
That's a fair point, that may well be just an overflow queue. The things that suggest to me that it isn't is that the building isn't actually that large to be able to give much space up for a queue line and isn't that tall and has no fire exits shown from an upper floor if the queue were to be above or bellow the ride. Maybe they are planning for this to never really have a queue and operate a permanent reserve and ride system as the only option? All guess work for now though!

I was on one in this pic... I can't imagine why the thing decided not to float at the bottom of the drop with us 4 in there! But as has been said, it is possible to lift your feet and avoid the worst of it in a log in but not on SS. And the boat drains quickly so it's never really a problem. So Thorpe are well aware there is a pretty serious problem with the ride and has been for FIVE seasons, and those guys are STILL doing nothing about it.

Anyone fancy a weep about other lost glorious Chessington theming?

Me then. A Harry Hill themed edition... 1) I have appeared on Harry Hill's TV Burp 2) I have appeared on Harry Hill's You've Been Framed 3) I have appeared on stage with Harry Hill

No love for Kindness / Robyn then? Oh well, I'd moved on to this by today anyway! WEDNESDAY - a guilty pleasure. Most people wouldn't class Bowie as a guilty pleasure, just an actual pleasure, but this isn't any Bowie. One of the most played CD's in my car is a movie soundtrack, and it is... http://youtu.be/ZvyNOg4jSRg David Bowie's Labyrinth OST, with Magic Dance being the highlight. If you've not seen this film your life is incomplete.

No way! There will often be some water in the bottom, but never to the extent it enters your shoes by the top! You seat with your feet forward on rests so it's easy to elevate them and the boats empty on the inclines so it never gets to be a problem. Incomparable!
-
You're right Ricky, SS dripping on people is nothing compared to the way it is dull as hell because the spinners don't work, the boats fill with water and soak your shoes, the reliability is shocking for such a simple ride, most of the water effects are off, it looks god awful from every angle and the loading and lift hill are painfully slow. It still shouldn't leak so much though, wasting what must be litres of water a day. It really has no redeeming features in my eyes, it simply shouldn't exist at Thorpe.

Happy Birthday Micky Mouse. 86 today!
-
It'll be a direct replacement for what burned, so a restored old ride. As it's a listed structure that is all they would ever be allowed to do to it, thankfully.
-
Hell yeah.

TUESDAY - your hottest record in the world right now Like Zane Lowe and his slightly more listened to version of this idea mt hottest record in the world right now will often change daily, but sometimes not for weeks. I'm loving a chilled out electronic stuff at the moment; most days since about June I'd have said Prayer in C (which I became obsessed with to the point it could have induced insanity), and more recently Wicked Games, but in the last few days it's been this beauty... Kindness feat Robyn - Who do you love. I adore Robyn anyway, plus the feeling and production on that track are stunning. Love it.
-
Very true. That goes for most music though, there's really no pleasure in listening to any kind of music on crappy little laptop speakers!

Great response, I look forward to hearing what's coming up. Any more for any more just post or PM and I'll add you on. So... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MONDAY - the first record you ever bought So, I'm not a child of the 00's (not even 90s or 80's!) so my first music was very much on vinyl, and still is to this day whenever I can. The first recording I remember being aware of was the wonderful Disney Mother Goose which I'd listen to over and over. I imagine this drove my parents potty. If you've got a spare 20 mins I thoroughly recommend you spend it listening to the greatest ever voice artist, Sterling Holloway, on this charming record. But anyway, that wasn't the question. The first record I ever bought isn't too embarrassing for me as far as I'm concerned. I distinctly remember aged about 11 gong down to Woolworths with my few pence and picking up a 7", taking it home so excited and playing it to my Granddad who very much didn't get it. I played it to death obviously, and still think it sounds excellent to this day. Somewhere between a bona fide dance track and a novelty record, it's... Technotronic - Pump Up The Jam. This is actually the 12" version but it's the best quality one I can find online, my precious record is still in my studio sitting in a sleve exactly like that one. Enjoy!
