Hi all, Interesting program on iPlayer at the moment- William Roache (AKA Ken Barlow), is on Who Do You Think You Are- his grandmother ran the Alton Towers cafe in the 1930s - hugely successful. And also lots of footage from that period and now, plus inside the towers etc! Well worth watching!

Ouch! Total loss of water supply?? Surprised they were allowed to open! Bad news about Samurai and Slammer... Hopefully they'll cut capacity accordingly for fright nights etc! Or bring in something temporarily?

Any news on Slammer? Website still says out of action but coming back, but good god, its been a bit now!

If you can get to the park before Friday this week, do it. Longest queue was 20 for Colossus, which was on one train, everything else was pretty much walk on. Swarm was about 10 minutes all day! Beautiful sun! Loved it!

Saw people working on it in the morning, but it afternoon... No great loss! Shame Rush wasn't open

So who likes the iPad 3? I've been after a 2 for a bit, and resisted till today. And got a 3. Turns up next friday! My first iPad, so quite excited. Shiny shiny! Makes up for me not being able to get to Thorpe for ages!

Absolutely fantastic - gorgeous looking station, ride. Only downside is that pretty white marquee behind the first drop! I suppose its a celebrity marquee now though after being used on Don't Tell the Bride!Fantastic job Merlin - can't wait to pop down and ride!

It really is awful isn't it! God knows what they were thinking... theres cheap and nasty and then theres... that! I honestly think there must be some plans afoot for the X/Arena/Storm Surge area... its placement in the most awkward place ever, and the fact its second hand to begin with, and its a temporary stop gap.Hope so anyway!

All looking very exciting! Whats the situation so far? Last time I visited there was fairly flat land, but nothing else. Any footers built yet? Any guesses where the additional access will be?

How was it last Thursday/Friday and today? Planning on going tomorrow, hoping for a quietish day!
