  1. Oh I totally get where you are coming from regarding people's responses to your hobby! I've had all sorts of responses but at the end of the day theme parks are something I enjoy - I just don't understand why people have to be so rude some times. As for smoking in queue lines - this is one that annoys me immensely (and I speak as a smoker) - if you can't hold off from having a ciggie while you're in a queue then simple solution is DONT join the sodding queue - firstly it's not permitted and secondly people don't want second hand smoke wafting in their faces. A couple of years ago I was walking through the queue line for Colossus and the queue was only just outside the station - but the 2 idiots in front of me decided it would be a perfect time to spark up - right next to a no smoking sign - and when a member of staff walked past and asked them to put their cigarette out they just carried on
  2. I'm actually pleasantly surprised that they stopped selling fast track for the coasters - has that even happened before?! I feel so sorry for the staff having to deal with complaints - yes the operations yesterday (and today?) no where near good enough but as said before this is down to management and not the ride attendants who will no doubt get the brunt of guests anger. On Saturday there was one guy sorting out the batching for DBGTROTD- because it had been shut for a few hours there was a backlog of fast track and RAP users - the poor bloke was getting abuse left right and centre - eventually another member of staff appeared to help him. Another time I witnessed a really rude woman (I use that term loosely) having a massive go at a ride attendant because Stealth was shut - like it was all her fault. I totally understand people complaining but to be verbally aggressive to ride hosts is harsh - but then they are the staff dealing with the public and I don't think they get paid enough to be spoken to like poop -
  3. When I read about the changes to the live action scene I was a tad disappointed as I love the crash effect (and watching people's reactions) so was a nice surprise to see it yesterday- and watch people jumping out of the way I also saw at least 3 people in tears yesterday after riding DBGTROTD - felt kind of bad for them but..... maybe I'm a wuss - I screamed and swore very loudly on the second VR section the first time I went on it yesterday- that last VR bit and the ending have made a massive difference from last years version - love it

Only ever done IAC twice, back in 2015 and only because there was no wait but thought I'd try it again today - still pretty naff but I did enjoy it more today and like what they've done with it - but - I really can't see it lasting a great deal longer due to the amount of actors the attraction requires. Also when did they get rid of the photo bit with Forehead & Dec?
  5. So reliability is still an issue with ghost train but rode it twice today and wow SUCH an improvement on last year - I liked the original bar the second VR sequence but ROTD I think is fantastic
  6. Pretty much agree with all of the points you made. Just reminded me of another - people who swear blind that Nemesis Inferno is actually Nemesis from AT And I absolutely hate parents forcing their kids onto rides - once saw a fairly young boy crying his eyes out on Saw just before his train left the station - you could tell he was bricking it but the parents couldn't have given less of a damn if they tried
  7. Great pics - sounds like you had a brilliant time
  8. Myself and Roodie are a definite for meet and meal
  9. Best pic ever
  10. When people are adamant about something and you try to explain - if it's someone's opinion fair enough but when people come out with random "facts" that are completely made up it really creams my corn People filming themselves on rides - yes filming isn't allowed unless you have permission etc etc but I like looking a POVs - not some idiot screeching their way through a coaster - I wanna see the track layout not someone's face. VIP pass holders who proudly display the fact that they are VIP with their exclusive lanyard and have a smug aura about them. Yes you've paid a stupid amount of money for your pass but you are no better than anyone else. Just to add I'm sure not all VIPs are like this but some seem to think they are above everyone else
  11. I agree with you in that it is pretty dark in places and can be quite loud - I think to say that kids won't like it is a a big stretch - I can get that some kids wouldn't like it due to the darkness or if they aren't particularly into rides (if that makes sense) but The Gruffalo is a popular book and the ride seems to have got good reviews. The first time we took my niece on Tomb Blaster she was in tears - which only got worse when the snake appeared but even now aged 13 she hates really loud unexpected noises (Saw is her fave coaster but she will walk past the bit where the gun shots go off with her fingers in her ears). From my point of view - I rode it twice the other week and was pleasantly surprised - when I heard what Bubbleworks was changing to I was not impressed - but - this ride is aimed at families and not enthusiasts and I think they've done a great job with it. Sure there are improvements that could be made such as a bit more theming in areas that have literally nothing there but on the whole I like it - also think the station looks fab
  12. I don't mind the roughness you can sometimes get with Saw - although I did ride it 9 times in a row once and had a splitting headache - but it was worth it
  13. Ah that is unfortunate! Hopefully you will get to experience it at some point but having young kids must make it tricky. Was hoping it would be more reliable this year but sounds like it's still having issues - the wonders of technology eh?
  14. Head back definitely! Try to get front row and train 2 if you can You might wanna take pain killers (I always do) as you can get a bit of a head bashing some times - but it's worth it! Noooo Saw is the best

Says a lot really - surely the stone faces can't cost THAT much money? Falls just looks awful since they were removed As for Loggers - what a bloody state! Makes me sad as it was such an iconic ride for the park with the perfect amount of moistness- Rumba is pretty much dry as is Depth Charge and storm surge will only get your feet wet - then there is Tidal which is great if very hot weather (or if you just fancy a quick and easy shower). As for the junior rides - does the frog hopper thing have a name? Also I can't seem to see it on the park map but it's physically there alongside ol' timber tug boat with lovely clashing blue fencing - epic!
  16. Yeah I watched it last night - although I skipped right to the end. So I know what to expect now but don't actually mind as I can prepare myself and wanted to know.
  17. Kind of embarrassing to admit but I did find it quite scary - I didn't go on it for ages because I like to see a ride before I go on and didn't know what to expect I would love to know what happens on ROTD - I read spoilers about ghost train before riding last year and still had a panic attack before hand - first ride I screamed a fair bit was fine on subsequent rerides - I know it's meant to be a secret but I don't mind spoilers especially if it helps me to mentally prepare for something
  18. Back in 2014 I reluctantly bought fast track for Colossus because it was so busy and I'd hardly been on any rides - was at least a 45 min queue which was frustrating - but the main queue was well over 90 mins so in that respect it halved the queuing time. As for security - understandable that they have it in place but it sure slows things down - would be great if they had more security points to speed up the process. Last Friday I went to CWOA in the morning and Thorpe in the afternoon - bag check at Chessie was pretty thorough but not so much at Thorpe. But at TP they have those scanner things you walk through but not at CWOA (that I noticed, or went through)
  19. I got mine at the end of last season and they are still a decent price (I think around £3ish) - yeah they do a good selection - I want more but I have a silly about of theme park keyrings!
  20. Omg FLIPPER!!!! So Lego and Towers done away with Starbucks? Damn I personally prefer Starbucks and often refer to costa Coffee as "Costa fortune" but with discount it's not bad - also yummy - actually I think I prefer Costa - I've just confused myself dammit
  21. I have been meaning to ask this same question - I absolutely love that music!
  22. I agree with the others - A all the way
  23. I read that some people were stuck on the sky ride yesterday for 30 minutes - I would probably have a full on panic attack if that happened to me- it's the scariest thing there and the only reason I go on it is sheer laziness!
  24. Do you mean the doll keyrings or something else? I have a Samurai doll keyring thing-
