  1. Sign is up on park apparently so I'm guessing someone got a photo of it at the staff FN preview tonight.
  2. House of monsters is going in Clkud Cuckoo Land, Wobble World to be precise. Nox Infernus isn't a scare zone this year but there were "safe" routes where you could avoid the actors.
  3. I'm pretty sure they were a group of roaming actors. They wondered Swarm island and would stop and intimidate groups. Especially as you would also still see maze actors roaming from their mazes to the actor rooms etc in their maze costume.
  4. I swear one article said it'll have the world record for most interaction with other rides at 5. Not sure but if true there's that. This needs to be styled. I always use Busch gardens for this example. Montu is themed to Egypt. Meanwhile Kumba is styled using it's surroundings and is lovely. Same could be said for Helix by the look of it. Using the surroundings to make a style whereas Taron is a full on theme. Even then this is PB, they can get away with plonking a ride down and that's nothing against them, that's just how the park is.
  5. They're already cutting back on the project... good job Amanda!
  6. It's being announced at the Mack factory apparently
  7. I liked the music from last year, was the only good thing about Big Top. Seems like an unnecessary expense but hey ho, really going all out to make it different to last year.
  8. It's going to be installed on the vehicle like Galactica, it will be optional, cleaned between rides and more staff on it. The queue is also being upgraded to make waiting for it more enjoyable.
  9. The fine is only for the H&S breach, doesn't include what the victims received. It's hard to put a price on it all. The court isn't out to destroy the business and the fact merlin have played ball the whole time has helped them out massively. It's okay though, they'll just cut 5 million from Chessingtons next project.
  10. Used to be 3 miles, now it's like 16 or something.
  11. Okay, please make sure you do arrive by 11, as this is when we're due to meet David by the Depth Charge fast track booth for our tour! (From Celia Mae, my account has decided not to let me log in this morning )
  12. I thought someone had confirmed it earlier in the thread, if not, I'm pretty sure it is being used for Platform 15's queue yes
  13. Knowing Chessington's luck they'll do that but find some real life thing that prevents them from building anything ever again as it's deemed of historic value or something.
  14. Kong. Stunning! . The facade is incredible and daunting. The mountain mural looks great up close, and even better from the distance, really looks like a mountain range going off into the distance. The huge doors opening, the kong entry arch, it all just sets the right tone. And then the queue. It's so well done, dark, twisty, carvings on the wall, actors, an animatronic worm before load, and the witch room! That really builds up the atmosphere as she summons Kong, great animatronic too, very realistic. The ride. The vehicles are very agile for how large they are. So that's cool tech wise, and driving round to the gates is great. Once inside you get a mix of screens and real sets, and everything is well done. The motion bases, the story works well considering it has all been tagged onto the Kong360 video from Hollywood. It's really good fun, the drivers are cool, the Kong animatronic is stunning and you get so close to him! Incredible. It's nothing special in the sense of pushing the boundaries, but it's a great ride. Does feel quite short but that's just how the pacing is. Overall, a great addition to Islands! Hulk. Not a lot has changed. The outside cattlepen is now covered, the interior queue is modernised and has some cool effects, the story is different, new trains stylish, launch tunnel very bright with a lack of effects, the soundtrack on board is really cool though! Ride isn't any smoother, it's edgy and snappy. Really is an icon coaster. Diagon Alley. So this was also new for me, was under construction last time I went. Wow. It is stunning and I'm not a fan of Potter. The train ride slightly disappointing but I didn't get the magic of travelling to Hogwarts. Just everything in DA is so thought through. The shops are as stunning as in Hogsmeade, but the addition of streets like Knockturn, the train bridge up above with train sound effects even though it's just a staff run, the huge fire breathing dragon. It is amazing and the true statementof theme park immersion in this era. And as for Gringotts, it's a really cool ride system with a good fun story and great pacing. Not as groundbreaking as FJ was, but it's loads of fun and very clever. Overall, another lovely trip to Universal. VB looks like it'll be stunning, Toothsome is an incredible piece of design, and Citywalk seems so much better now it's had the majority of its makeover. It's great watching them grow and such a rate and continue to do so!
  15. Didn't Big Top have some stuff from Carnival?
  16. They still haven't actually decided what's happening with Loggers themselves.
  17. If Paultons do extend Peppa Pig then that's fair, they've not touched it since it opened and have invested in plenty since it arrived. Maybe a Peppa Pig dark ride of some sorts?
  18. Publicised numbers are always wrong, Swarm was £23 million I've been told on two separate occasions. Ghost Train is up and nearing 30 apparently and kept rising with all the delays, and now all the tweaks etc. Maybe the ride system cost £13 million, plus the £3 million for the actual building, large amount for theming, headsets, marketing etc. Easy to see it slowly rise.
  19. I did not break the catch car. I promise I wasn't that drunk...
  20. Secret life of Pets. And well rumour has it completely new ride. Maybe a wingrider. End of the day, Dragons doesn't work in the land, something designed around it would. A terrain hugging wing rider through the forest with near misses and special effects would look more in place and be a better complete experience.
  21. Fallon is projected for early next year, F&F for early/mid 2018. Another one to add to potential stuff coming alongside SLOPs and Nintendo and a 3rd park: Dragon Challenge. It hasn't duelled for a few years now and as Hulks revamp has been received well Dragons is next. Rumours have it as closing middle of next month. And some put it down as being demolished with a new coaster taking its place maybe for next year!
  22. The other day walking past Slammer as someone looks up at it. "Is it allowed to do that?? Like seriously?"
  23. It was a good visit! VIP stuff is always worth it! The sinking isn't that bad, it's just happening. Loggers they're still undecided on apparently, it sounds like the park want it but higher ups might not.
  24. Stealth is waiting on a part. The park can literally do nothing but wait.
