Always loved the Pirates theme, but this guy does the best ever piano arrangement of the piece. Literally trying to learn to play it like this right now, and it sure isn't easy.

Compared to the last few years, I found 2014 to be the best year at Chessington since Wild Asia at least. The park felt more well kept in places (though still run down in others) and having more soul and atmosphere than the last few seasons. Scorpion whilst I still prefer mine train, has a lot more personality on it now (zoo pared to what it used to be) and has lots of quirky features too. Marketsquare looks lush and fresh and the altered landscaping fits in to the park well (compared to the old ageing area that used to be around it). Amazu is an interesting update to monkey and bird gardens whilst the Azteca hotel looks a great second hotel and will hopefully boost guest numbers.

A minor improvement for somewhere like Europa is when a shop, restaurant or ride receive a hefty refurbishment. For merlin, this would be something like new signs or vinyl thrming. If they did any of the s I've, they'd considet that a major refurbishment. That being said Europa has one big budget whilst Merlins had to be divided many times.

Joker (yes) Avengers or justice league?

I think it's going be either Pingu or Octonauts somehow. As much as it be nice to be Tweenies, it's days of being a big thing were years ago (sort of when I was only growing really). Still remember the theme tune.

I think the rotation of investment at Chessington is, High,Medium, Low, Medium etc. 2013 was definitely a high year as we saw Zufari (which was supposedly a major a ride). 2014 would be medium as we saw the rethemed Scorpion Express, updated Amazu alongside improvements such as Market Square (in addition to the hotel). 2015 is (of course) a low year as were so far just seeing a new penguin enclosure & show plus a possibly rethemed jungle bouncers. 2016 will probably be medium (a major ride may receive a major upgrade), which means 2017 is the next high investment year.

TBH I think it's good that we're getting discount there as qualitywise it's very similar, but better value for pass holders. As for non pass holders, it's only £1 ride at the end of the day, and I still think at £10.99 it offers good value food (considering you can as much as you like).

I guess the park's current plans is to sort out land issues and revitalise the rest of the park. Whilst some areas have been a nice refresh recently, there still a lot of areas that could do with some touch ups. Tombs & Falls are the first to come to mind here.

Has a Disneyland Annual Pass

Scorpion express (at least compared to the recent state of mine train) Swarm or Saw (this'll get the debates rolling)
-
Saw is a ride I both love & hate in different ways. I love the pre-indoor section of the ride, it packs lots of the surprises and that small drop intense and lots of I teractive theming elements such as the swinging blades and body at the end. I also like the general creepiness of the area and ride snd the whole rundown theme. Ok, what I don't like about the ride. The outside section. It's not the layout itself, which is okay, but that's not the problem, the jolt(s). I find several uncomftable moments, notably after the drop and just before the last inversion, which can be pain. I also don't like how some trains are noticeably rougher than others as some rides I find myself really enjoying it and the next finding it a rough experience. My final flaw with the ride is the fact it replaced plans for a GCI woodie on its spot (something I would've preferred if I could choose one of the two). In conclusion, whilst I would say Swarm is the better of the two (merlin) coasters, with its large scale theming, smooth yet powerful force it flies through the track and comftable seats, Saw has definitely been the most popular snd successful attraction built at the park since Colossus and the general public seems to really riding it (it had the biggest queue on every fright nights I went).

P Phantasialand or Efteling?

Absinthe Smirnoff or Barcadi ?

A Rapids ride would work really well at the park ImO and I'm hoping the land restrictions are loosening slightly (as much the council apparently don't like them). 2017 sounds right to me, especially on the four year cycle Merlin are doing now. I think another coaster is planned, but it's a kiddie one on toadies site (which explains why it's so rundown there currently).
-
Finally a park, that may be scratching Merlin's (faded) paintwork. I think 2016 will be the most exciting year for new rides in the UK for a while.

Double Post (shoot me!) Coaster force are reporting that not one, but two rollercoasters will be coming to the park in 2016 (in addition to a new food outlet, meet and greets & lots of theming apparently). Family theme park Paultons Park are set to spend £8m on a new heavily themed scheduled to open Easter 2016. The new four acre area - The Lost Kingdom - will be situated between the gardens and the Magama ride. Themed to dinosauars, the new area will contain several attractions and include animatraonic dinosaurs, character meet-and-greets and food outlets. The thrill seeker highlight of The Lost Kingdom will be not one but TWO new custom rollercoasters. Raptor is a Family Boomerang coaster. Flight of the Pterosaur is Suspended Family Coaster also from Vekoma. Both coasters will be heavily themed with tunnels and foot/headchoppers. This new land compliments the popular Peppa Pig World and the new-for-2015 Critter's Creek area which features a remodelled rollercoaster, a new track ride and an animal walkthrough. When The Lost Kingdom opens in 2016, it will be the first UK theme park in 24 years to open two brand new coasters in the same year.. The article can be found here. http://www.coasterforce.com/news/park-news/2519-lost-kingdom-at-paultons-two-new-coasters

I think if Oakwood go downhill further from last year, it was be an complete disaster. Made thorpe look like Alton Towers &Towers like Disneyland. Hopefully this new investment will be a great addition to the park (seeing how rundown and abandond that area of the park was last year). I get the Impression the provider of this 'so called' new coaster they were supposed to get has really messed them about,
-
Yeah, I think towers have done it right, by not making a fuss over this new ride. After all, I think the glorified log cabins that are Enchanted Village stand a better chance of pulling in guests (over a kiddie'ish) coaster). I hope they theme this ride up well though, could be a little gem in the park maybe.
