The U.K as a whole has mostly stagnated theme park wise. If Paramount were to open tommorow, I would definitely expect most parks to fail this year.

Streets Of America & Lights Motors Action and others are no more. Source- Themepark Tourist Construction fences have now occupied a large area of Hollywood Studios as it prepares for it's massive transformation project. The whole park now is practically a building site with only a few themed areas now without fences.

This makes even Chessington's reliability look good! Never thought I would say that.

Was wondering if anyone wanted to do the Roller Coaster Restaurant on any part of the trip as I'm interested in teying it out?

Autism affects sufferers in different ways. Some will be very shy, others will be highly madly obsessed with strange things whilst others be unstabaliaee by simple things like noises, movements or even certain buzz words. As a sufferer of this (but at a higher functioning level (aspergers)) I have seen kids break down in tears or become enraged just by certain words and sounds, whether that be saying their favourite fictional character is dead or noisy machinery. Whilst I have never used exit rider due to being in the generation before and getting used to the queue way, there's a lot of sufferers who just can't accept and deal with the change and surge of information. And it is here why they need to use exit rider.

A worker for DLRP died today whilst doing some work on the Phantom Manor ride (of all places). Why is it always the Paris one where we are hearing of these tragic staff deaths?

Unless planning laws are ever scrapped (won't happen unless Matt Creek party becomes a thing), the only UK parks that could currently build a hyper are Thorpe and Blackpool. Even then, both will encounter many difficulties when building. I'm yet to experience a B&M hyper myself (PMBO being the only hyper I've done). However that should hopefully be changing in May when I visit Europa for the first time. I'll probably end up doing Shambhala somepoint in 2017 probably and hopefully.

Whilst people complain about Merlin slashing hours, at least they always give reasonable notice when they do so. But park's changing on the day for the worst is not on. Imagine if a bunch of young kids went alone for the day and weren't picked up until 8 but the park decided to close at 6? What happens then? They can't wait around for 2 hours doing nothing. If the park are inconsistent of opening times, they should switch to a system where theres a minimum close time and extend if the park is busy. I.E 5pm close but the park is packed, so change it to 7pm or something. Another reason why UK parks are mostly behind ones in Europe and the rest of the world.

Germany has Wodan & Colosssus Sweden has Balder & that Gravity group coaster at Grona Holland has Joris, Troy and Robinhood Belgium has Loup Grou & Heide (very soon) France has Tonnere De Zeus Ireland has Cu Cumain (sp) Only Spain & Italy don't really have a role model woodie (at least until Stampida is done and Kumback is kicked out). The U.K. Only really has Blackpool, a couple of smaller woodies and Oakwood (which is not well known for non enthusiasts outside Wales). The U.K. Does need a modern Woodie as it's one of the few coaster ride types we now lack and I think such a coaster would suit Towers's rural landscape perfectly. Joris may be the only new woodie I've done (bar Megafobia), but it's a fantastic one at that and certainly better than Blackpool's (bar the nostalgia).

It's sounding quite possible this is a multiple party contribution project now. Or there will be several rides/moving sensors as part of this attraction.I wonder.

Wasn't there also a short lived flying coaster thing that was at the now closed Granada Studios in the UK? Strongly recall RCDB having one listed a while back.

When I last visited Chessington, the park was in a worser state than me drinking on a Saturday night. 2016 could be different though.

World's first without a world first. Would be nice really. Just focus on a good nice themed ride and a distinctive image and it's sorted.

Which is a strongly saddening fact when parks like Phantasialand, Efteling & Europa Park have plushed up their rides. Rides like River Quest, Pirana Rapids & more adding small but noticeable improvements making the rides even better. It's a pity Chessington couldn't do anything on that scale due to management as it further proves how the UK is mostly falling behind other parks.
