Oooh dear, I'm supposed to be going again next weekend... I hope it won't be the same!
  2. I guess this is about trying to prevent people from cancelling their trips more than anything, because the news would have you believe that the apocalypse is coming. Where is Les Coogan when we need him?

I agree that a strobe would be better, but the solid light would still be pretty blinding for those on the ride though. Th13teen's camera blinds you as it flashes at night, so imagine what the Flasher would be like!

The cheer when it re-opens always cracks me up as well! I agree about the flasher, that would be great in the dark. They're obviously having an absolute nightmare with this ride I found the Smiler absolutely incredible in the dark! The Marmaliser's screen does light up the entire area
  5. I honestly wouldn't worry about it! I mean how many times have you been there over the years and the barcodes have failed to scan... They usually just have a look at the ticket and allow you to go through.

Seems to be only affecting the station though :/

Looks like this is now resolved. Not ideal really is it on a day as busy as today. The usual hilarious pictures of the guest services queue are beginning to appear on Facebook! What is their problem with power cuts? I swear they shouldn't happen as much as they do.

I am usually the first to slate Saw for how rough it is... But my couple of rides on it at the weekend were literally as smooth as The Swarm! I have no idea what's happened! Must be down to the individual cars I suppose.
  9. Yeah it's just normal price, £24
  10. Yes you can I was allowed to use it.
  11. I've done Brave it Alone They made us swear that we wouldn't reveal anything about the experience on social media & forums so I don't think we should say much tbh... All I can say is that, as a fan of Thorpe Park, you can not miss it. It's much more full-on than I thought it was going to be! PLEASE book yourself on one of these!

The restraints are currently off (or they were yesterday afternoon anyway )

Not very good really is it.... The fact that it needs trims in the first place is bad enough, but if it's still over-speeding that's surely bad news ?? It's quite funny seeing the uproar in the control room though... Like 10 people crowded in the control box all waving their arms about Also the cheer that goes up in the queue when a train moves is hilarious!
  14. Peaj, I'm so glad you've said that! We've booked Brave it Alone but so far haven't heard anything good said about it! I'm glad to hear that it's worth it. Could you tell me where the meeting place is for this? Isn't there some sort of champaign introduction somewhere?? I assume not right outside the maze! :/
  15. ^ Thank you! How many opportunities are there to 'choose your route'? Are you presented with a choice of doors more than once?

This is exactly what was happening on Saturday when I was queueing.... Happened 4 times while we were in the area - one of which when we were on the ride. The engineers seem to know exactly what the issue is because (as you said) they don't even bother with test runs. There was a hell of a crowd in the control room when they got it going though. I think the main reason for the delay is that the engineers take forever to walk across the park to get there!
  17. ^ These people must be richer than I am Seriously though, fifty quid for Thorpe Park? Fifty?

Brilliant review Pluk. I was there again on Saturday and I agree about the smell of the restraints... We were involved in one of the many, many breakdowns, we were stuck on the final brake run for 20 minutes at the end of the day... the restraints absolutely stink I thought it was just due for a wipedown at the end of the day after everyone had been sweating all over it!

  20. The mazes do look fantastic and the lack of big white tents can only be a good thing. It always looks fantastic at night as well. I just think it's a shame that they (once again) couldn't be bothered with any theming or decoration around the park. I'm looking forward to going this weekend so much. We're thinking about doing Brave it Alone as well... Has anyone on here done this yet? Any opinions on it?
  21. Oh I love this! If every ride is going to have its own movie themed dispatch and score then that's awesome!
  22. I'm clinging on to the hope that this is because today is NOT actually a public FN day... Fright Nights doesn't actually start til tomorrow, so maybe the park will be decorated for that?? Don't forget that You're Next apparently takes over after dark, so this could yet change I agree that some things don't look finished though. Digger & lighting cables in Blair Witch? All the crap dumped next to MBV? I'll save my judgement til I have been there myself next week, or at least seen Towers Nerd's photos of tonight.
  23. Well..... Look out the window now for a gage on how it's going to be tomorrow It's 7 and currently 'dusk'.

    Guess who's back.......
