  1. Personally, I think that Thorpe will announce something new but I dont think that it will be too big and exciting. I hope they announce something big and exciting but something tells me thats not going to happen. But, who knows maybe they will have a massive reveal of something new!!! I like to be optimistic...
  2. Thanks, I think that if the BWP thing is done well and it is done in the right way, I think it could be VERY scary. I mean just imagine being in a dark forest with actors being in there with you! It sounds great. Also I think that the MBV will probably be the scariest because your on your own with some maniac gas mask killer chasing you, that for me would be absolutely terrifying. But I also think that the other scare attractions have great potential, and if Thorpe can pull it off, I think we are in for a fantastic fright nights! Very exciting!!!
  3. Could someone please tell me what a scare zone is and how it works because I'm not sure really, never been in one.
  4. Went to Europa park a few weeks ago, this will just be a report on how the day went and some of my opinions on the park. First though, the ride count for the day: Silver Star x2 Blue Fire x2 Wodan x2 Euro Mir x1 Euro Sat x1 Poseidon x1 Bobsleigh x1 Fjord Rafting x1 As we entered the park I noticed how big it was, I had no idea where any of the rides were so we decided, as a group to walk in a random direction and go on whatever ride we came across. So we started walking and we came across Euro Sat. Euro Sat The queue looked huge but as we entered it we soon realized that it moved really quickly. We were on within 40 mins. We went up for what seemed even longer than the time it takes to get to the top of storm surge! Then we heard a count down and we started going down. If I had to sum the experience up in one word, I would say Intense. Just because you think that you are going to go left and then it suddenly jolts you right and vice versa. I still really enjoyed it and it ourselves pumped for the rest of the day. Overall 5/10 Silver Star One thing we noticed with the park is that on the bigger rides they cover up most of the queue so you don't know how long it will be. It was the same for silver star. The queue was about 50 minutes for this so not that bad for the tallest ride in the park. The queue line was alright as there were a few things to look at to keep us entertained. The ride itself was not as good as I expected but still amazing. We went back row and the air time we got was so good and all the twists and turns were great too. Overall 8/10 Poseidon Queue was about an hour long and very well themed this raised m expectations for the actual ride itself. However I did't really find it fun at all to be honest. At least it definately wasn't worth the 60 minute wait for it.The queue line was great but the ride was very disappointing. Overall 4/10 Wodan One word, wow. This ride was amazing. I mean maybe it was because I had never ridden a wooden coaster before but all aspects of it were just really fun. The queue was the most well themed queue of the lot and the ride was just fantastic. Before riding my initial thoughts were that it was gonna be bumpy and uncomfortable but it wasn't at all. I just loved the speed it made my eyes water it was going so fast. Overall 10/10 Blue Fire This was the one that I had been looking forward too the most out of all of them because I had heard a lot of great things from you guys. Queue was about a 55 minute wait. Not sure if it was like stealth and that the front seat is 10x better but I couldn't find that out because the front seat queue was massive. Anyway I loved it, not as much as Wodan but I still loved it. I have to say that it wasn't the most thrilling of rides but it was paced so well and the inversions were placed in the right places. I loved the idea of the pulse measure and the queue was done well with all the rocks. Overall 9/10 Fjord rafting When I saw this ride and all the signs to it saying stuff like "you will get wet on this ride" I immediately thought "rumba rapids". But it was nothing like rumba rapids I got soaked! It was a really fun ride and I have to give it a reasonably high score so Overall 6/10. Bobsleigh Not much to say really, it wasn't that fun a bit uncomfortable, Thank god I only had to queue for 5 minutes. 2/10 It was a great day especially wodan and I think that Europa park is a fantastic park. Thanks for taking your time to read this.
  5. In a few days time I am going on a holiday going round Europe stopping in different countries like France, Switzerland, Italy and Germany. Its all very exciting. On the way we will stop in Germany and we are going to this park. I have never been there before and I am very excited, about riding the blue fire because all you guys talk about it so much and about how good it is so it'll be great to try it out for myself.
  6. Yeah, the last time I went, they were playing thrift shop on depth charge!

    Favourite Films

Scary movie 1 is brilliant. Not too keen on the ones that came after though.
  8. I don't see why you would want your shoes off for Colossus, saw or stealth. But for nemesis & swarm I am not sure if you are allowed to take them off or not. I have taken my shoes off for the flat rides sometimes though.
  9. For me, samurai and rush are the best flat rides in the park. I would much rather say goodbye to vortex or slammer.
  10. Going to Europa park for the first time in summer, very exited about that . Possibly going to Alton towers soon as well! And the usual Thorpe park trip every now and then.
  11. Thanks for all your advice, I will definitely use it. We will be going soon so I will let you know how it goes, and what my friend goes on!
  12. Hi, I went to Thorpe park with a friend in the Easter holidays, and because it was so cold we get to go again! When we went, he went on some rides, but not on others. I know that he will love it if he goes on, but I'm not sure how to persuade him... Thanks
  13. TBH its only been recently that I have noticed the queue times on the boards being less accurate, lots of the times that I visited last year they were fine.
  14. When I last went stealth's queue said 80 mins but it was actually only 15. Never ridden it so many times in a row.
  15. Thanks, that's probably what it was.
  16. Hi, I went to Thorpe park a couple of weeks ago and I had heard that the queue boards had been moved or something? As we went around the park I kept an eye out for them but I couldn't see any of them. Not sure where they are. Maybe I'm just blind or something. Thanks.
  17. I don't think that the air gun things are pointless. To me they kind of add to the ride experience. As SAW - the ride IS a horror themed coaster it needs as much interaction with the rider as possible. E.g. being shouted at and sprayed with water by the dummy on the floor, thinking that you might hit the axes or spikes and being talked to by Jigsaw. For me the air guns just add on to that feel of interaction - making you feel a little bit like you are actually in a saw trap.

    Slammer

It was only on Wednesday that I realized slammer really is quite tall and scary. For me It is probably the scariest ride in the park!

    X

I rode the new X for the first time on Wednesday. For me it is a great improvement but I still can't understand why they had to turn the trains forwards. We waited about 20 minutes at the end of the day after seeing the queue reach up to an hour earlier on. The inside queue was a little bit of a disappointment because all that I notice were a few extra blue lights. When I boarded the ride I can say that the new cars feel a lot more comfortable . We turned the corner and as soon as I saw the purple lights I I knew that this was going to be a great ride. Al of the dazzling lights and the pumping music really helped raise my adrenaline. I loved the ride but the only thing was that it was too light. Overall a great improvement, well done Thorpe!
  20. Samurai has gone up in my ratings, it feels so smooth but so fast at the same time!
  21. Went to Thorpe Park yesterday. Time in park: 10:30-5:30 Ride count: Loggers leap x6 (why not!) Swarm x3 (all forwards because the person I went with didn't fancy going backwards ) Stealth x2 Inferno x1 X x1 Samurai x1 Slammer x1 Detonator x1 Rumba Rapids x1 Quantum x1 Depth charge x1 Flying fish x1 I agree with Coaster Jamie about the lack of urgency. Even though the queue's were reasonably short, they feel a lot longer when your standing out there in the bitter cold. - I felt that slammer was a lot better than when I have ridden it before, but that may be because I haven't ridden it in ages. - No mist in Infernos tunnel, a little disappointing but I don't mind too much - Loggers with no tunnel did really lower the enjoyment factor but it was still fun as always. - The Swarm was good, great to see the fire going off (first time I have ridden it with the fire, and I must say, I loved it. The new billboard is great, I felt the near misses a lot more, don't know why! - Got some air time on depth charge -Samurai was surprisingly smooth today - Colossus and SAW weren't open which was a bit of a shame but I guess you can't do anything about the weather! - Stealth's queue time said 80 minutes and it turned out to be only 15 And finally X exceeded my low expectations, I loved it. Overall, the rides were brilliant, the queues were good, but the efficiency of the ride teams on some of the rides were poor. We got on lots of the rides at the end of the day because they were pretty much all only 0-10 minute wait. Not the best day to go but still really enjoyed it. ( and get to go again for free!)
  22. Once we went on it and the staff left us up there and started talking to us, saying things like "Hows the weather up there?" and "Are you having a good time?". They then played a recording that said "We are aware that your gondola has stopped moving" shortly followed by "your gondola will now be released". Then they dropped us. Best ride I have ever had on detonator.
  23. It isn't the same as it was for fright nights, but I guess they want to keep the theme like that because it is supposed to be a "terrifying" coaster.
  24. The overturned ambulance looks wicked from up there!
