  1. I love the layout but hate the themeing; roughness comes and goes, luck of the draw, and also dependent on the truck you're in.

    Slammer

I did pass a group of three engineers walking from it's direction mid afternoon, that might have been the team responsible. If I have a quiet night at work tonight, I will try the park again tomorrow.
  3. God forbid - unless you can take laser type potshots at him.

    Slammer

I actually took a run round this afternoon to do other rides (well it is the end of the season), and sadly Slammer was shut with nobody in attendance.
  5. Might be something to do with this being a Thorpe Park site and the titles pertain to TP items.
  6. As a unique ride and experience I think it is great; I wouldn't queue more than fifteen minutes, and only before 1130 hours on a really hot day, so unlikely I'll ride it often. Five times in one day is going some - I have to know I can dry out within an hour. Interestingly that Oakwood will not open Drenched in the mornings because the park think "the people won't like to be wet for the rest of the day". People queue for Tidal Wave from the opening.

    okay, sorry that's not it.

    Perhaps this? http://www.memoriesofthorpepark.co.uk/xnowayout.html
  9. I don't think so. It's not re-rideable, but has been running quite well this season. It's not like it's removal would make much more area available.
  10. Sometimes Sam, meaning cannot be properly conveyed in a message on a forum such as this, and one's interpretation may not be correct.
  11. One can also pop into guest services to do it.
  12. Not far above the full gate price though I doubt that many pay that.
  13. Thanks for that though I gave them the dates when I spoke with them, I will ask regarding that.
  14. Most of the ride staff are young and this is a steep learning curve for them, I find it hard to imagine me having handled it.
  15. There was a clear shortage of staff at TP yesterday, yes the H & S was covered but some of the operators on Stealth were literally run off their feet, for the whole day doing more than one job. They had to deal with all sorts, people from all walks of life being generally stupid. The staff were professional and tactful, brilliant in fact, and it was extended hours.
  16. Okay, I've decided, it is Stealth. No ride is for everybody, and sure the length of the ride is short, especially if one has to queue for an hour, or in fact for any time. It is the most intense ride on the park, I believe, and gives the most extreme G. The launch, wow, the sudden change of direction, the bump over the top, the free fall, and the severity of the brake run, oh, and the half second view of London. The downside, rain and insects hurt on impact at those speeds. (one beastie actually burst on colliding with my hand yesterday, and it wasn't until I'd been able to clean up that I could see it hadn't broken my skin)
  17. Sadly, I now think that if the weight distribution was to the lower side as the dinghy was raised, it would continue raising on the higher side, causing those on board to fall into the conveyor. Terrible for those concerned, their family and friends and those around including the park staff. Sorry, going against my own rules, I have started giving an opinion which I am not qualified to do.
  18. Tragic incident at this park on their Thunder River Rapids, at Dreamworld, on Australia's Gold Coast. Apparently there are four adult fatalities. The ride appears a standard rapids type but the conveyor is an open ladder system. Very sad for all concerned.
  19. At the risk of someone on here taking umbrage at having to glimpse real life and getting this topic locked - this woman, obviously well suited to the tabloid press, alleges she was humiliated and forced to parade in front of hundreds of park guests, because she could not be safely fitted into a harness on Colossus, having walked past the test seat to join the queue.............. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3863156/They-know-not-B-cup-Mother-one-banned-Thorpe-Park-ride-Colossus-36L-BREASTS.html#newcomment
  20. As some of you may be aware, the purchase price of a Thorpe Park Annual Pass at the moment is only £51.50, which I think is a ridiculously low price if one can make use of it more than two times in a year. As my current pass doesn't expire until June next year, and suspecting the price may go higher again, I contacted the TP office to establish that If one pays online and picks it up at the park, it starts on the day of collection, if one has it delivered it starts on the day of purchase. I will be buying mine this weekend and it will start after mid-June next year. https://www.thorpepark.com/tickets-passes/annual-passes/#
  21. Well it seems that those that represent that part of our community did not set a very good example on Sunday, so that's the reason most people will only see that. I know some very nice people from all walks of life.
  22. Apparently, last Sunday was the worst day ever for trouble being caused by the traveller community who were at the park in large numbers. Several occurrences of queue hopping, pushing and it seems fisticuffs, due to this type behaving in their unsociable way. Glad I didn't go over until Monday.
