  1. I like that, but in the dark, you wouldn't need to go backwards either.
  2. I'll keep my eyes on that then............I drink Scotch!
  3. That would be a shame for that to go, a great re-rideable experience.
  4. What a frightening thought, but one of the ride operators asked me yesterday "what if your favourite ride didn't exist, what would you ride?" Now, I had nightmares last night. I think this is the first time I've ever been asked and if a person has one particular favourite ride, and it did not exist, then logically the next would become that persons favourite. However, if your favourite does exist, and then it did not, it is an odd thought. Well for me anyway.

    Was he shell shocked then?
  6. Luckily for me, no prior dodgy call.
  7. Thanks for that Ian, it was on speed dial.
  8. I just tried to telephone a family member for the call to be answered "there is a a fault with this line. Telephone 118820 to be connected by an engineer."I googled the number and it is a scam with which some people have been conned out of anything up to £15 a time. WATCH IT!I then rang the original number again and got through.
  9. Well I know it's open at least half an hour before park opening, but I'm pretty sure it opens an hour before. Or, ring this number 01932 577123 and ask them.
  10. I met a chap at TP on Monday who told me that three years ago he endured "the walk of shame" (his words), by being unable to take a seat on Stealth due to being large. He went away and has shed five stones and is now going to start visiting TP and other parks more often as he is able to ride roller coasters. Proud of his achievement quite rightly, it must be quite distressing for those who cannot shift weight. Me? I'm a lucky so-and-so who has stayed the same weight since I was a yob, some years ago now. With respect to being the wrong size, it does annoy me that people with small children will queue and subject the ride hosts to being seen as "the ogre" due to declining access to that small child, when it is the accompanying adult who is at fault.
  11. Went for Monday, 10a.m. to 10p.m., Stealth (only on one train all day) was launched 285 times, and no failures. One hiccup needed a test run. I had a few rides.Nice to see some members on it too.
  12. I met someone today who loved the new Ghost Train, hurrah.
  13. So glad your day went well, sadly there will always be a couple of ride hosts who don't seem on their game, but that's 'cos they have to put up with thousands of us GP of allsorts.
  14. Er, no, they would look at any queue of a ride they wish to experience, that has a relatively shorter queue, which in reality, could be that they queue for Stealth or any ride they had already reserved a spot on, to then re-ride on their booked slot, logic.
  15. Some coaster train wheels have to be of a minimum temperature to run freely and achieve the run; some loading platforms have wheel level heaters to assist that, Colossus being one of them. Therefore the fluctuations of temperature have a strong bearing on whether a ride will complete it's run. That said, most of the staff are seasonal and therefore the cost of retaining enough who are "currently" trained in the operation of the rides is prohibitive. The reasoning behind TP's closures at this time, in the supposed open season, is somewhat different.
  16. There is a private event I.e. Services Day on the 5th.
  17. That's very true, if one chooses, they could do that.
  18. I Love it, I was going to ask what diner he frequented.
  19. Without planning too much I had intended attending TP today to catch some reasonable weather and before my shifts start again - to find last evening that it is not open. I may be the only one, but Fright Nights are of no interest to me except for perhaps getting some late rides, be it with an extra payment. Annoyed I'll now have to think about doing some things around the home. Frustrated that I haven't ridden a coaster since Sunday, and not much time left.
  20. I did hear this recently, someone passing Colossus announced "I'm not going on that again, the last time it killed me!" I'm sure it wasn't a "zombie" from fright nights.
  21. Apparently it went technical while I was at the park, and people I spoke with later, said that the precautions taken to ensure all was operating correctly were about twice the amount of previous runs, and managerial clearances now included take a while. It's not a favourite ride for me though when we went on, there was no queue and we walked straight back on for a second ride.
