  1. For public days yes, this could be one quiet birthday celebration.
  2. Wow, it makes me realize how lucky I am.
  3. Speaking to the engineering team, and luckily for me, they confirm that we will have at least another ten years of it, the ride that is. The work done on the catch car has actually created a stronger unit than it was originally. Hopefully next year the now planned modifications will not interfere with the season.
  4. A woman said to me yesterday "I've seen you ride this four times, that could seriously damage your brain!" How late can somebody be?
  5. I termed it as that to cover the Services Day as well. Somebody did offer to adopt me into their family for the JL do, but I thought it may get too technical, sadly.
  6. Good to see yourselves and other club members about the park today. Quite a few youngsters on the park when I thought they would be at school. Last day of the season, unless one is at a corporate event over the next few days. Luckily got the last ride of the season on ............ Stealth.
  7. I love the layout but hate the themeing; roughness comes and goes, luck of the draw, and also dependent on the truck you're in.

    Slammer

I did pass a group of three engineers walking from it's direction mid afternoon, that might have been the team responsible. If I have a quiet night at work tonight, I will try the park again tomorrow.
  9. God forbid - unless you can take laser type potshots at him.

    Slammer

I actually took a run round this afternoon to do other rides (well it is the end of the season), and sadly Slammer was shut with nobody in attendance.
  11. Might be something to do with this being a Thorpe Park site and the titles pertain to TP items.
  12. As a unique ride and experience I think it is great; I wouldn't queue more than fifteen minutes, and only before 1130 hours on a really hot day, so unlikely I'll ride it often. Five times in one day is going some - I have to know I can dry out within an hour. Interestingly that Oakwood will not open Drenched in the mornings because the park think "the people won't like to be wet for the rest of the day". People queue for Tidal Wave from the opening.

    Perhaps this? http://www.memoriesofthorpepark.co.uk/xnowayout.html
  15. I don't think so. It's not re-rideable, but has been running quite well this season. It's not like it's removal would make much more area available.
  16. Sometimes Sam, meaning cannot be properly conveyed in a message on a forum such as this, and one's interpretation may not be correct.
  17. One can also pop into guest services to do it.
  18. Not far above the full gate price though I doubt that many pay that.
  19. Thanks for that though I gave them the dates when I spoke with them, I will ask regarding that.
  20. Most of the ride staff are young and this is a steep learning curve for them, I find it hard to imagine me having handled it.
  21. There was a clear shortage of staff at TP yesterday, yes the H & S was covered but some of the operators on Stealth were literally run off their feet, for the whole day doing more than one job. They had to deal with all sorts, people from all walks of life being generally stupid. The staff were professional and tactful, brilliant in fact, and it was extended hours.
  22. Okay, I've decided, it is Stealth. No ride is for everybody, and sure the length of the ride is short, especially if one has to queue for an hour, or in fact for any time. It is the most intense ride on the park, I believe, and gives the most extreme G. The launch, wow, the sudden change of direction, the bump over the top, the free fall, and the severity of the brake run, oh, and the half second view of London. The downside, rain and insects hurt on impact at those speeds. (one beastie actually burst on colliding with my hand yesterday, and it wasn't until I'd been able to clean up that I could see it hadn't broken my skin)
