While although this is slightly different, I've seen many a staff member selling fastracks at the entrance when the ride is actually walk on when you go inside the queue. As they do this, I wouldn't be surprised if they did reduced operations just to make more money through fastrack sales. Thorpe need to get their game on and do better operations, on empty days queues are 45mins when should be 15mins and on busy days rides aren't on full capacity from the start meaning the queue gets really big straight away and there is a massive hold up for the next train to be added.

I didn't say replace vortex, I just wondered if it could be modified to make it better. The ride is relatively boring especially if you get the bottom side, if the ride did a full 360degrees then it would actually be exciting whatever part of the ride you are on(not like dragons claw, the ride would remain the same but would just swing all the way over). I've done many funfair rides and I love them. My favourite flat ride I've ever been on has been slammer at thorpe park but things like rock rage and superstar are some of my favourites aswell.Incase you didn't know what superstar is, it's this: it's kind of like the dragons claw and I absolutely love it

Is there anyway to modify vortex so it can do a full 360? I think that would be pretty awesome

Seeing as thorpe park charge such ridiculously high prices and charge you for fastrack and parking as well, this is not justified. Thorpe know that if they do 1train operation then queues are going to match those on a normal weekend. It is ridiculous and thorpe should be bringing the right amount of staff and engineers for maximum operations. If a train is broken, then that is acceptable but a train not being on the circuit because thorpe park can't be arsed to pay any extra money to staff members is NOT acceptable and needs to be fixed.

Happy Birfffday Jason!

Yeah was being operated decently at the beginning for the first 2 revolutions but then the spinning went really slow when the arm turned the other way. Quite a short ride time and not being operated to its full potential, nice to see jingles back on the ride though! Danters superstar was being operated so much better though, really enjoy that model

Oh okay! Just saw it on a dreadful cycle at amersham and was wondering why! Shame the cycle has become so poor!

Did Benson's sell their superstar off then? Was looking forward to seeing it back in Ealing common next year

Did see a fair few videos in youtube, was going half empty most of the time while other rides were full. My guess is it was because of the hefty price tag, most people would usually rather ride it at a £3 price tag than a £7 one. People look at other rides around the similar price range like gladiator and air and think they look more impressive than rock rage, meaning they disregard rock rage from their rides to go on. If it has been priced at a couple of pounds cheaper I reckon it would have brought in more crowds but that wasn't the case and it's just unfortunate for Sedgwick that he chose to price it so high. After all, he did have the choice and there was no need for such a hefty price tag. I've seen how busy it is when it's on a £3 price tag let alone £1.50 on cheap nights. I reckon if the ride had been much cheaper they would have brought in more money.

Sorry for double post but was just browsing and realised how much Milton Keynes bonfire funfair used to be with 2xtreme, over the top, tango etc on top of the rides we have today. Would be nice to see Airmaxx going this year along with some of the old favourites. Does anyone know anything about the ride line up this year, unsure if I will go but there are three £1.50 cheap nights I beleive so would be nice to get there and try a couple of rides/attractions.

As the event closes in on us this year with less than two months to go I thought I would restart the discussion over it I reckon we will see yet another improved line up of rides and attractions, however this will again lead in a price increase. This year I reckon we will see rides being priced in the region of £10 a go. My guess is the ones priced at £4-£5 will go up to £6 and the ones at £6-£8 will go up to £8-£10. I'm only guessing but it's sadly the harsh truth... For anyone who really wants to go and wants to donate to charity we have charity preview night once again this year! Date has not been confirmed but tickets are due to go on sale soon. The wristband will probably be priced in the same reigon as last year, with £35 booking early bird and £40 after a certain date. For anyone who is interested, the night is usually on the night before the event opens and is from 5-9pm with all rides and attractions being free, including ice skating and ice kingdom etc. the money for this wristband ALL goes to charity which is why it's such a great event to attend. You will also see some celebrities on the night aswell! Really great value especially compared to the normal winter wonderland prices. Dates and times aren't confirmed for this years preview though so keep an eye on this topic and I'll let you all know! So, is anyone planning on visiting? I hope the line up is as good as last year if not better, would love to try the likes of gladiator turbine and over the top etc. Looking forward to this event should hopefully be a good one!

I'll have the £10 return each?

Happy birthday Pidge! Just incase you didn't see my singing on chat

They take ages to reply these days and just try to get rid of you as soon as possible, some people don't have it though, more people need to take a stand. What's the most you have ever got offered? I have written in a total of 3 times before. The first time I was given 2 per group member, the second time I was given 3 per group member and this time I was given 4 per group member. Will be using them at fright nights thanks very much thorpe for not dealing with my problems and chucking fastrack at me instead!
-
It is how it is though. You could complain about that but then you would probably just end up with more fastracks...

The one thing I didn't like about the Pizza Hut buffet is the fact that the staff were dreadfully slow. The pizza rack was empty for about 5minutes for the staff to bring out one pizza and it to be grabbed by the 50 people standing around it before you could grab a slice. It took me at least 10-15minutes on one occasion(in peak times) to get a piece of pizza! Hopefully the pizza pasta staff will be better and will actually replace the pizza instead of just leaving loads of hungry guests waiting.
-
You will get the same old reply about saving energy and will be chucked free fastracks. Shame how it's now better to visit on a peak weekend instead of an off peak day as it's actually means there are shorter queue times...

You can have 4 adults in a car as far as I'm aware, we have done it before??? Unsure about that but seems very unlikely, I'm classified as an adult by the park and 4 of us have been in a car together before. Dont know where this rule is coming from?

Danters superstar was actually amazing, highlight of the night and is up there as one of my top funfair rides
-
Thanks. Do you think this is the best day to go then, will it be the emptiest? Theoretically you get the same if not more dark ride time as you will spend less time queueing and on the rides in the dark, if you queue 2 hours you only get on one ride in the dark because of chessingtons hours...

Does anyone know when the best day to visit Howloween is? I was thinking the first day, the Friday might be the emptiest day but unsure? Does anyone have any idea of how busy it would be on the supposedly emptiest day of the Halloween event?

Got a video of Leigh Danters Superstar from Amersham street fair last night. Enjoy!

The mazes were confirmed to open at 3pm, also the park is open till 10pm according to the website. Don't know what page that information is from, but it certainly has errors on it.

I went to Amersham Street Fair last night! The fair has been running since 1200 and runs for two days from 4pm-midnight each day. Whilst I did not stay till midnight, I stayed for a couple of hours in the evening to check out the fair and try a couple of rides! The fair was hosted by ivrin leisure and was slightly disappointed when I got there as the fair line up was different to what was said by irvin leisure. There turned out to be no waltzer, freak out and a couple of other smaller attractions which were on the ride line up. This was as George Irvin decided to take his freak out down to Thame Street Fair up in Oxford instead. However this didn't bother me as there were some nice suprises in the line up When I arrived at the fair there was a very lively atmosphere and the first ride I saw was a very rare ride which I had never seen in real life before, Smith's calypso! This is a bit like a break dance but much more intense and forceful, I rode it later in the night when the fair had cleared up a bit and was much emptier. Before riding anything however, I walked down the fair having a look at what rides were on offer. So here's the line up: Smith's calypso. Smith's 'Spinball' Roundup. Hackett's Ski Jump. 2x Dodgem Tracks. Funhouse+Ghost Train. R.B Leisure 'Tropical Trip Miami' Groom's Twister. Irvin's Superbounce. Benson's 'Body Count' Superstar. Danter's Superstar. Danter's Oxygen. Anyway, when I got there around 8pm the fair was very busy, I even counted 50people in the line for Danter's oxygen booster which didnt seem worth the wait. However, I did manage to get a ride on it when it cleared up later in the evening and had no queue watsoever around 10pm. Danters superstar was also very busy around 8pm and was going full every time with a nice atmosphere and mic work and music on the ride. Infact, every ride was doing decently around 8pm-9pm before the fair started to clear up and got much emptier, meaning you had to wait a long time for the ride to start before it began(especially on danters superstar). The line up was very interesting and was nice to see two superstar models competing against each other, I had ridden Benson's body count in the past and was suprised at how much better danters superstar was altogether. Unfortunately for danters superstar, when the fair was emptier around 10pm, it became much less popular and body count was still going fairly busy every so often. Whilst both rides are amazing, danters superstar was a much better experience, had much better lighting and appearance and the atmosphere on the ride was amazing. Danters oxygen was great aswell, I preferred it to other KMG booster I had ridden as once the car had 'lost its bounce', it regained it again meaning that you rocked back and forth a lot more than other boosters. I don't think it is the best booster I have been on but it was still great and I really enjoyed it. Anyway, enough of the blabbing here is my ride count for the night! Danters Superstar x2, priced at £3 a ride. Smith's Calypso x1, priced at £2.50 a ride. Danters Oxygen x1, priced at £4 a ride. I have a video of danters superstar when it was much quieter on in the evening, unfortunately there was no mic work later on in the evening as there were much less people in the grounds however the ride still had a good atmosphere. It is really a great ride and was being operated slightly differently to usual to what I've seen on other videos on youtube. It was my first ever time in the ride and was an amazing superstar, I can't wait to ride it again, one of the best funfair rides I've ever been on. Anyway, overall the fair was great, wasn't too overpriced either and had a nice night time atmosphere. Hoping to be able to ride danters superstar some time in the near future aswell as it was really a great ride
