  1. just thought I would mention it and see if anyone has the same views... I've been 4 times this year to thorpe and have done vortex at least once every time, and found on the latter 2 visits (beginning of august and last week), that vortex seems to be struggling to get the heihgt and does an awful lot of juddering - so basically doesn't go as high as it did on my first couple of visits, and just isn't a good ride anymore. the park was empty and there wasn't even a full set of people for the next ride, and still experienced the shortest rides I had on it... went on it three times last week. anyone else?
  2. shockwave looper at brean leisure park & g force spring to mind... one being crzily rough, and the other coming off not being able to breath because of the stupid restraints!
  3. And when was the first reported date of construction?..
  4. I asked thorpe on twitter about the preview event... THORPE PARK ‏@THORPEPARK1h @deangarycox That's all good! Don't forget to get your #FrightNight ticket for just £5 with you Thorpe Annual Pass! Expand Reply Retweet Favorited More DEΛN COX. ‏@DeanGaryCox1h @THORPEPARK can I go to the preview event with my Thorpe Park annual pass... Got the tickets booked but don't want to refused entry, thanks! Expand THORPE PARK ‏@THORPEPARK20m @deangarycox Yes! You won't be refused entry! See you soon! Hide conversation EDIT: and they have replied to me on the questions to thorpe park section saying it's open to thorpe season and annual pass holders as well
  5. lap bars are probably seen as unsafe, the same with woodies... well that's how merlin would see it anyway!
  6. If you read back through the halloween topic I posted about it... It was surprisingly scary considering it's a family Halloween event, but was more of a walkthrough with different scenes and actors describing a story with a few really good scares, I really enjoyed it and can't wait to go again this year
  7. Had a great day at chessington today apart from getting soaked from the rain... Walk on (non existant queues - summer nights at Thorpe seemed busier haha), or just had to wait for the next ride... Vampire was on 1 train operation but can't complain as we had to wait for people to fill up 6 rows before the ride could be sent off (not sure if that was due to the rain or that's how it is?)... Peeking heights seemed to be down all day even though there was someone in the operation box (unsure if its closed in wet weather)... Zufari was alright second time round but was just ruined by the waterfall event section not working - although the spray was working... The highlight of the day was actually breaking down on Griffins Galleon - it was juddering really bad while spinning and stopped on an angle after like 10 seconds and it was just me and my friend were stuck in the rain for like 5-10mins until engineers had to manually push it back haha!
  8. the block sections are still there and can stop the cars if necessary, if it was to run with 4, and it was held up at the station for some reason the train(s) on the track would stop on the block sections and wait?
  9. You can see the queue from saw entrance... And all the extra bit by the queue line shop was closed off, I could see it wasn't very long. But anyway I buy fast tracks and am happy with it as it does bring money into the park... But under circumstances with someone stood out the front with a small queue just isn't right!
  10. I meant it how it's a coincidence that the queue line was stating 45 mins when it was more like 20 - the person selling fast tracks would have known this, so therefore is willingly selling fast tracks next to an incorrect queue time?..
  11. Only the very last bit where was pitch black with actors if I remember would people put their hands on other peoples shoulders, but I personally walked by myself with others in front and behind, you don't have to conga line it. And the themeing is different scenes... I wouldn't say themed to the village though, but was decent themeing
  12. Haha... I admit I do use fast track if I know for a fact the queue is big and its worth it for me to make sure I get on what I want in the day
  13. I hope saw gets some attention as its nothing special and with the investment concentrating on these films would only be right to change a scene or two! Asylum I'm happy to see return as it is a decent maze could just do with possibly more actors. I'm not sure whether they're saying that there will be minimal actors in CITW, so are they cutting back on actors saving money considering the cost to create these new/adjusted mazes as I doubt there will be as many actors in BWP as well as a maze equivalent would have?
  14. MOD EDIT - Split from derailed Saw thread. There were people using fast track and they just sent them up the other bit of queue inside the building... I must say it was cheeky, the queue was advertised as 45mins and had someone out the front selling fast track, when intact we queued about 20mins, not much less than the people who had used fast track as they let a few in at a time, which I though was very unfair on people using fast track and a money making scheme by Thorpe, although the queue line was correct and no one was selling fast tracks when we went on it a second time a bit later.
  15. I went last week and they were allowing people to queue on the inside building again (and then closing it off once it was full, until a while later when they would let more in)... I swear this stopped like after the first year or 2, guessing due to H&S of queuing in an inside building (the same with X?) - anyone know why, as it wasn't allowed on my other 3 trips this year!
  16. Thorpe put a picture on their Facebook page to do with goodbye experiment 10 and welcome my bloody valentine... So we know for a fact that is where MBV will be located. And guessing CITW is where the passing was, although I swear it was confirmed to be there somewhere and not just a rumour, ah well, will only have to wait and see
  17. Considering they are advertising the event with the graphics on the website as a movie theatre... Surely movie bites of these films, like they did in the past withsaw movie bites would be a good idea, and would fit well?
  18. Is anything happening to the IP of Sega and sonic spinball, guessing the ride is staying and being the same thing?
  19. I swear scare tour said its where the passing was... And somehow we now know it's there?
  20. The fact that you're next would be a scare zone / roaming actors was rumours from scare tours which was believed to be true... They were correct about asylum returning and the location of MBV and CITW, but if they were wrong about BWP being a scare/live action maze it means we can still stay hopeful for a you're next maze and not just roaming actors
  21. What just because one maze isn't changed, and we're getting 4 new fright night attractions... Are you serious?
  22. All the current crash pad rooms are pretty much identical, all sleeping up to 4 if I'm correct? Thorpe wanted to add their own to be able to mix and match with different sized rooms, mainly just for 2 based on feedback, so obviously more double rooms will take up less space
  23. it was more of a walkthrough with many scenes where an actor would be explaining a story or something would happen etc... some bits were outdoors, and some indoors (inside marquees etc.)... it wasn't a conga line style one
  24. yeah thanks for reminding me actually haha... I was just unsure if I had the same benefits as a merlin standard passholder so I could go to this preview event - I'm only interested in going if rides are available too (even if it's just the coasters like summer nights), not that I won't do the mazes, just thought considering it's going to be pretty empty try and do a bit of everything!
  25. so in the preview night are the rides open as well, or is it solely to try out the mazes? and also can I go using the the annual pass you get by paying a tenner extra on top of the gate price?
